Chapter 102: Parting

Holding on to his mobile phone, Su Qiubai finally understood, after a long period of hesitation, what Gu Chengya meant. He immediately became anxious.

“No… er…., I don't plan to go back to Qinghe city now.” He had originally wanted to avoid Gu Chengya. It would be a big problem if she followed him back to Qinghe City.

“Not going back? Didn't you just say that you wanted to go back?” The calm voice of Gu Chengya made Su Qiubai's breath become stuck in his throat.

“Do you hate me?” Gu Chengya asked all of sudden. There seemed to be some kind of loss in the voice.

“Of course not!” Su Qiubai replied intentionally.

“Then it's no problem. You will leave tomorrow morning? I will wait for you together with the teacher at the business center building.”

A happy voice came from the other side of the phone, followed by the disconnect tone, leaving Su Qiubai with a stunned expression on his face.

Su Qiubai had no other choice. It seemed that Gu Chengya was determined to follow him back. Helplessly sighing in his heart, Su Qiubai could only hope that after he headed back to Qinghe City,  he would have ways to send her home as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, Cao Toufei and his group of brothers had arrived at Su Qiubai's place.

Everyone agreed on having a meal together that evening. It would be a farewell to those uncles. After all, when they returned to the Qinghe City, Su Qiubai would send all the uncles back to their respective era. No one knew when they would meet again.

In order to express his grat.i.tude to Su Xiaoxiao's roommates, Su Qiubai specifically asked her to invite Zhang Wen and Xiao Li to the dinner. They were the ones who had taken care of Su Xiaoxiao during her hospitalization, so he felt obliged to thank them before he left the city.

The brothers of the Street Racers Gang picked up the uncles, while Su Qiubai brought his sister to school to pick up the two girls.

Finally, everyone met in front of a big hotel in the city center.

The uncles weren't in a good mood as it was a farewell dinner, but Su Xiaoxiao's roommates were very happy.

Zhang Wen was secretly holding on to Xiao Xiao's hand, as she whispered to her that she had never been to this hotel before. 

The hotel was very famous in Donghai City, so most of the time, it was difficult to book a private dining room. However, this was all arranged by Cao Toufei, so even Su Qiubai didn't know how the room was booked.

After everyone sat down, Su Qiubai noticed that the uncles weren't in a good mood. Remembering the times they had spent together, he stood up to give them a toast.

Frankly, he didn't say much, other than telling the uncles that even after he sent them back, they could still meet again whenever they wished to. His a.s.surance slowly cheered the uncles up. All of them started drinking and smoking, as if they wouldn't go back unless they were drunk. Su Qiubai and Cao Toufei were also going all out that night. After all, it was a rare opportunity to be able to drink with the emperors. Calling this chance a miracle wasn't an understatement!

At the other table, Su Xiaoxiao, Zhang Wen and Xiao Li were sad because they were parting soon. Su Xiaoxiao would go to Beidu after the semester was over, and she wouldn't be back until graduation.

The three girls were sitting in the corner and holding one another's hands as they chatted.

 “Zhang Wen, are you still working at that place?” Su Xiaoxiao suddenly recalled something, so she asked this softly.

Zhang Wen, who was quite cheerful earlier, immediately looked somewhat lost, but she nodded to her two best friends in the end.

Su Xiaoxiao frowned slightly at her reply.

Zhang Wen's family wasn't rich, so she had found a part-time doc.u.menting job in a company, and she would work there whenever there were no lessons. In fact, it wasn't too bad; the company was a large company. Although she was just a part-time worker, the company paid her quite a decent salary. However, due to her beautiful appearance, the manager of her department would always hara.s.s her. He had even touched her several times.

Su Xiaoxiao and Xiao Li had known about this for quite a while, and had advised her to resign. But honestly, Zhang Wen really needed the salary. It would be very difficult for her to find another job with such a good paycheck. Therefore, even though she was experiencing such disgusting hara.s.sment, she could only bear with it helplessly.

“Forget it, let's not talk about it anymore, let's talk about something else.” Waving her hand, Zhang Wen looked quite uncomfortable. However, she had no choice as she was just a poor student. She had no power to change things.

Su Xiaoxiao and Xiao Li were also worried about her, but they had no other ideas.

Halfway through the meal, the three girls went to the washroom.

Su Qiubai didn't pay attention to them, so he didn't notice that they hadn't returned after a long time. After a while, the hotel waitress rushed into the dining room.

“Erm.. Excuse me, the three girls from your room are facing some trouble. Could any of you follow me…” The waitress didn't know who to ask, so she just said this out loud anxiously.

Everybody in the room fell silent upon hearing her words. In particular, the ancestors' cheerful expressions immediately changed to deathly ones. Su Xiaoxiao was the most precious person to them, and now, someone was actually trying to trouble her when they were around!

Seeing those uncles stand up, it surprisingly felt as if Xiao Xiao was their family, even though she was clearly Su Qiubai's sister.

Su Qiubai walked towards the door while advising the uncles to calm down.

In an instant, more than 30 people, including the brothers of Street Racing Gang, all exited from the private dining room together.

Outside of the room, the three girls, as described by the waitress, did in fact encounter some trouble. However, it had nothing to do with Su Xiaoxiao. Zhang Wen was the one who had gotten into trouble. And all that happened coincidentally. When the three of them exited the washroom, they b.u.mped into the manager, who had been hara.s.sing Zhang Wen. 

The manager might have been a little drunk. As soon as he saw Zhang Wen, he came over to her without any hesitation. He was extremely insistent on Zhang Wen going over and accompanying the customers of their company. He even told her that this was an employee's' responsibility! 

Zhang Wen was evidently unwilling to follow him; she tried to break free of his grip and follow Su Xiaoxiao back to the private dining room. The manager eventually got annoyed and slapped Zhang Wen to the ground.

“Darn it. Let me warn you! I don't care if you want to or not. You have to accompany the customers! What's the point of me taking such good care of you! Asking you to drink with customers… and yet you dare to disagree! If you dare to disagree, you'll be fired!”

With his arms on his waist, the manager angrily pointed at Zhang Wen, who was on the floor, and threatened her. The people nearby cast their gazes towards him and Zhang Wen.

Although everyone wanted to defend her, they knew that the people who could afford to come to the hotel for dining weren't just ordinary people. Therefore, it wasn't worth offending them.

Zhang Wen was slapped to the ground by the manager because she really was not expecting it. She looked pale and her arms were scratched. Su Xiaoxiao was instantly anxious upon seeing Zhang Wen's expression. She rushed over and blocked her when she saw the manager about to kick Zhang Wen.

“How can you do this! She is just working for your company, not selling herself! What right do you have to beat her up! Apologize to her now!”

Su Xiaoxiao stared at the slightly fat man in front of her. Her entire body was trembling in anger.

“It's none of your business. Asking me to apologize to her! Hahaha… What if I don't want to!”

With that, he actually sneered and lifted his leg, kicking Su Xiaoxiao.

Bang!

The people in the hall heard a loud sound. Then, they saw a middle-aged man with a dark, cold expression on his face standing next to Su Xiaoxiao. Meanwhile, the manager had already flown nearly ten meters away, slamming into a pillar in the hall.

“You dare to lay a finger on her… I'll kill your whole family!”

Bai Qi seldom talked. Many of the onlookers might not believe that what he said was true, but those who knew his ident.i.ty would definitely believe him. In fact, if he wanted to kill everyone in the hotel, no one could surely escape from him!

The guests in the hall initially were quite worried about the three girls' safety. But they were relieved after seeing Bai Qi standing up for them. With such a fierce and forceful uncle, their safety would definitely be a.s.sured.

However, when they looked again at the private dining room, there were actually more people coming out, one after another. In a few seconds, a whole gang of people walked out of the room!

Everyone slowly walked away from them upon seeing this scene. The manager… had surely kicked a steel plate this time… No, not a steel plate, a coffin!
