Chapter 16 Entering the Realm of Ghosts?

The Ghost-Power Masters had the ability to communicate with the spirits of dead heroes, and thus this career became the most sacred one in the Canghun Land. They founded their own group called the Ghost Clan. The leader was chosen from the best masters. Under the leader, there were ten palaces, and the leaders of the palaces was called Death of the Palaces. The emperor of the previous dynasty hired the clan leader as its national master, and built a temple for the clan near the royal cemetery. Since then on, the clan was involved in political issues.

Twenty years ago, a ghost swallowed its host’s soul and darkened his mind to raise chaos over the whole world. Only the Mind Masters could defeat them. After the turbulence, the Ghost-Power Masters were either being controlled by the ghost or hiding their tracks on the land. The four representative families of the Mind Masters, however, were welcomed by the land’s civilians.

“The Cyan-Face Walking Dead is your ghost, Bird. Only you have the power to control it. Now I can help you to comfort it, but you must try your best to enter the realm of ghosts, find it and communicate with it. If you fail the mission, I won’t let the ghost swallow your soul; instead, I will extinguish it together with you. Bird, you have survived the disaster of Taohua Village ten years ago, and you destroyed the army of the monsters by a sacrificing suicide with your spiritual fire. Don’t let yourself be killed by me now.”

Que Siyu formed out her hands another golden enchantment under the green one, and she forced her red spiritual fire onto the forehead, and then she threw it to the roaring Cyan-Face monster. With her help of defending them from the monster, Bird sat down and crossed his legs and closed his eyes. He tried to enter the realm of ghosts to find the monster.

Then he entered a realm of pure white. Everything was a white enchantment, and the area beneath his feet was empty, cloaked in white fog. There was no heat, no coldness, and the ground he had stepped on felt as if he would sink a little, yet he felt forbidden from turning around and going back. This realm was beyond his knowledge of the Canghun Land.

He had never thought, as the student of the strongest Mind Master, that he was a Ghost-Power Master, who was hated by everyone.

This understanding made him miss the life he had spent with the master again. He used his legs to draw the image of his master in the thick, white fog. When he finished the drawing, the white mist had changed to a sky of stars, and the empty realm became an isolated library of ancient books.

The land knew few things about the Ghost-Power Masters, and not a book mentioned there was a library of the ghost realm, but he found that this library had an abundant collection of the ancient books. Some of them were the same as those in the outside world, but most had never been found. Bird chose a book to read. When he tried to pick the book from the shelf, it automatically flew to his hand. This was an ancient book that the master had required him to memorize. He had been punished by him many days due to having a short memory. He changed to another one, the real version of another t.i.tle he had purchased with his salary of three months from his part-time job, and was told by the master it was a copied one. The happy experience of remembering the old time with the master made him relaxed, and he read for a long time, until he was tired and fell asleep.

When he woke up again, he found he had come back to the hall and Que Siyu was still supporting him by controlling the monster. The monster was still yelling loudly.

“Bird, why are you back so quick? Have you found the ghost realm?”

“I didn’t.” He did not tell her about the library. “Sisi, give up now! Don’t waste your spiritual fire on me anymore.”

“With the Ghost-Power Master being swallowed by the ghost, the only fate for the master was death. Bird Three has survived until now, Que Siyu, so let him go. You can’t save him.” Yin Xue Lan's tone was caring as she spoke and tried to persuade her. The Gao Brothers also nodded.

“Bird Three, I travelled the land for ten years to find any trace of evidence that you were still alive. I won’t easily give up.” She added more power to the golden enchantment after saying this. However, a sudden strength broke the enchantment she had put all her efforts in.

“Siyu, I haven’t seen you for a little while, and you are still so stubborn.” The newcomer was Yin Chubei, the brother of Yin Xue Lan, the first son of the Yin Family. He was in a fine white suit.

“Yin Chubei, you have made all my efforts in vain.” Siyu was so angry. He had broken the cover and Siyu had no power to form it again. “Bird, I am so sorry! I thought that I could save you with my ten-year cultivation. . .”

“Sisi, you have done more than you should. Go with your friends. I don’t want to hurt you in the last minute!” Bird yelled to her.

Bird’s spiritual fire was being swallowed by the monster, and his breath became weaker and weaker. In order to give more time for Que Siyu to leave, he sat down to enter the library again, trying to force his spiritual strength into the world to remain longer.

He never guessed that during the time when his soul was going into the realm, the monster outside was out of control. In order to stop the monster, the host of the Escape Game had no choice but to freeze his body until his spiritual strength was fully destroyed.
