Yinglun Group 22nd Floor Meeting Room.

“The domestic dealers.h.i.+p is in our hands. After a week, I want to see your plans. Meeting adjourned.” Finished, Zheng Weiqian took big strides out the meeting room.

Shen Mulin quickly caught up to him and softly asked, “President, with the chairman and President Fang's friends.h.i.+p, why don't we directly contact him, wouldn't he give us some face?”

Zheng Weiqian smiled, “I like ‘fighting,' I don't like relying on others and not work to achieve something. I believe in our strength. Even if we fail, at least we will know what we are lacking and improve for next time.”

Shen Mulin knew that her senior is straightforward and upright and had never played any little tricks, even when conducting business.

Zheng Weiqian walked into his office and said to Shen Mulin, “Secretary Shen, can you get me a cup of coffee, no sugar, thank you.” Right as he sat down, he started looking at the report the secretary brought in earlier.

“Yes.”

Not long after, Shen Mulin came back with a cup of coffee.

“Sir, your coffee.”

“En. Secretary Shen, have the flight to Z City tomorrow been booked? This time I'll probably have to stay longer. If there is any problem in the company during that time, call me directly.”

“You want to stay a couple of days this time?”

Shen Mulin is very puzzled. She knows he wants to go back to his childhood home, as he had done before, but he would usually stay for a night and come back the next day.

Zheng Weiqian took a swig of coffee, “Yes, I want to persuade her to come back with me, I don't feel a.s.sured with her being there alone. Besides, going there every month is very time-consuming, so it is better for her to come here.” He lightly took a sip of the coffee, “Very good coffee, thank you.”

“Huh? Hehe.” She didn't think he would say this.

“If there's nothing else, I will leave first. I wish you success in bringing back Esteemed Mother, hehe.”

“En, thank you.” Zheng Weiqian courteously thanked.

Shen Mulin retreated out the office.

Everyone thought even though he is young, he has the same demeanor as his father and Yinglun Group will prosper under his guidance. Although he does not have any scandals, there had been some rumors swirling around for many years about his relations.h.i.+p with a popular actress, Lin Xuanxuan.

15th Floor, Planning Department.

“You've got to be kidding. Do you really think ‘Mediterranean' would let you go at this time? After the meeting, I heard that there is a lot of tension with the case from the 22nd floor. The president is even personally overlooking the case.”
Yu Weiya is worried that if her friend asked ‘Mediterranean' for a leave of absence, he will eat her.

“I don't intend to ask him for a leave of absence.” Fang Yan gave Yu Weiya a meaningful look.

“You can't be thinking––––” Yu Weiya stared at her with wide eyes, “You….you can't possibly be thinking about using me as your s.h.i.+eld! Let me tell you, don't think about having any ideas! I'm not going to help you.” Yu Weiya quickly stopped, it really is laughable. When Mediterranean really gets mad,  he would really eat someone. How could she dare to provoke him!

“Don't look at me like that!” Yu Weiya is going to collapse, how could she just hand over her friend just like that, good things have never been….ahh! How is she going to pa.s.s her days!!!!! 

Fang Yan looked out the window at the pa.s.sing scenery, is she back at the place where she lived? What is this town like? Can her footprint still be found here? Probably, after all, this is where her soul died.

It's really funny, she only knew her mother for only sixteen years and thought that she knew all there is about her. But the age of sixteen was also when she found out that she understood very little of her mother. She weaved a beautiful lie, but when she died Fang Yan's reality was destroyed, dragging her from heaven to h.e.l.l. For two years, Fang Yan had hated her, even until now, that hatred still hasn't completely disappeared. However, she is still her mother after all, and even though she doesn't agree with what she had done, she is still eager to understand her. And so, from America, from 18 years-old to 24 years-old, she went to China, hoping to gain some understanding of her.

“Ring…..ring….”

The phone screen showed the brightly lit words of “Mediterranean”. After she pressed the answer b.u.t.ton, before she could get a word out, the person on the other end roared, “Wherever you are, come back right away.”

“I'm on the train already, for the time being, I can't come back.” Fang Yan calmly said.

“You, you, you. You want to anger me to death ah. You know that the people high up have a tight leash on this case but you insisted on getting a leave of absence. What do you want me to do, do you really think I can't do this without you? Let me tell you, if you don't come back right now, I will take it as you skipping work.”

“If you're going to be like this, then you leave me with no choice.”

Fang Yan really didn't want to hear him go on talking as if she owes him.

“So, are you saying I am easy?”

“Remember, that's what you said, you have to give it to me in a week.” Since you;ve said this then I will wait, hehe.

“Alright.” This is really annoying.

“Then I wish you a good trip.” After achieving his goal, Mediterranean wished her well on her trip.

“Thank you.” Old fox, who was the one who tried to fire me earlier. 

Finally, she arrived at the station.

As she carried a small suitcase out the station, Fang Yan was about to hail a taxi when her phone rang.

“Ring…..ring….”

When she saw that the call is from Yu Weiya, she picked up the phone.

“Have you arrived yet?”

“En, just got out the station.”

“I was scolded the entire morning. When I told him that you wanted to leave for a week, he looked as if he wanted to bite my head off.”

“And you, wanting to challenge him–––”

How come there is no sound, Fang Yan wondered. The hand that was holding her luggage was also empty. After she reacted, the phone in her hand had long been gone.
