The small incident didn't make it to Cao Xiong's ears. Cao Yang and Xia Rou had resolved the issue privately, coming to an agreement.

Cao Bin was surprised to hear what Cao Yang had to tell him. After the initial shock, he began to praise Xia Rou.

"This child has her heart in the right place," he said.

Cao Yang realized that he seemed to have put himself into the role of a parent. If someone praised Xia Rou, he couldn't help but feel good as well.

What the h.e.l.l was this. He hadn't even married yet.

"Just two days ago, she even came to ask me about you," Cao Bin chuckled.

"What? What did she ask?" Cao Yang raised his brows. What was there that she couldn't come and directly ask him about?

"She wanted to know about your girlfriend. She was worrying about you and afraid you couldn't find a wife."

The moment Cao Bin recalled Xia Rou's world-weary complaint to him: "Look at his age, he's no longer young. Why hasn't he…" Cao Bin couldn't resist laughing.

When Cao Yang and a few friends were relaxing together, his childhood friend Huo Yaogang brought it up. "Are you and w.a.n.g Man together now?"

"Who told you that? We only had dinner together twice, and that's because we had matters to discuss," denied Cao Yang.

"My father wanted me to go after w.a.n.g Man before this, but I told him you were seeing her, so he let me go," Huo Yaogang said, looking at him out of the corner of his eye.

Cao Yang returned that side-long glance. "If you like her then go for it. What does that have to do with me?"

"I don't care that much," Huo Yaogang replied, blowing out some smoke. He laughed, "The point is that my father has his eyes on her father."

"If you're looking at it like that, it is indeed worth the chase," Cao Yang said. "Do as you like. It has nothing to do with me; don't drag me into it."

After obtaining that permission from Cao Yang personally, Huo Yaogang was relieved.

He drove his car into the courtyard and from a distance he saw Xia Rou standing on the stairs, speaking to a man. He couldn't help but squint to see better.

The two were standing at a tilted angle; Cao Yang could only see the back of the man's head. He seemed very skinny and tall, like a model. But he could see Xia Rou's entire face.

He wasn't sure what they were talking about, but the two looked very close. Xia Rou had tilted her head up, her gaze gentle.

Cao Yang furrowed his brows, staring at her as he got off the car.

The man suddenly stretched out a hand and tucked some hair behind her ears, even brus.h.i.+ng her bangs. As for Xia Rou, she didn't seem to mind at all. And the way she looked at him even seemed to hold indescribably sincere feelings.

Cao Yang paused before striding towards them, shouting at her from his spot, "Xiao Rou!"

The pair heard his voice from far away and turned around together.
