Chapter 13
In the dead of night, secretly lurking in the room of a lonely Omega; what do you want to do?
Rong Yi's heart raced madly as he stared at the dark shadow beside his bed. Could Chen Keyao have changed his mind and realised that Rong Yi was fine as an Omega? But this was too sudden; he wasn't mentally prepared.
No, Chen Keyao wasn't such a casual person.
But Chen Keyao's military prowess really was amazing; even if Rong Yi tried to resist, he would be immediately overpowered. Was it too much for him to be living in an Alpha's home?
While Rong Yi was caught up in his thoughts, the figure who had been carefully scrutinising him finally reacted.
When Rong Yi noticed the other person's actions, his heart jumped to his throat, before he became confused. His confusion was caused because the man had turned slowly, before creeping towards the bedside table and squatting.
Rong Yi had only lived here for two days and only had a few bits of luggage with him. He had never even opened the table and didn't know what was inside.
The man took a deep breath and slowly eased the drawer open.
Until now, Rong Yi hadn't dared to open his eyes, but having heard the sound and looking at the blurry figure, Rong Yi's heartfelt very surprised.
Although it was a very short sound, it was also a very floaty one. Chen Keyao's voice had a very profound impact on Rong Yi because it made him feel good from the bottom of his heart. It was a very mellow baritone, especially magnetic. Every time he listened to his voice, Rong Yi felt as though half of his body was set aflame.
But this man's voice, it sounded awful.
Then, on such a quiet night, in this room, who was secretly rummaging through the cabinet? Who was it?
Rong Yi suddenly recalled the thing that Chen Keyao had told him in the kitchen.
Recently, several families in this neighbourhood had been burgled.
…Oh no. Was he really this unlucky?
At the same time, the thief who'd found nothing in the bedside table stood up and then walked to the edge of the closet.
Rong Yi squinted his eyes and looked at the man. His only thought was that this guy seemed to exude wretchedness. His body shape and Chen Keyao's were so different, and he was ashamed to even be in the same room as him.
But now, what the h.e.l.l was he supposed to do?
Seeing the thief carefully open the closet and extend his hand inward, Rong Yi suddenly felt angry.
It's disgusting enough to be touched by a stranger, but now this guy was going through each of his pockets one by one? He'd had enough. Rong Yi secretly compared their physiques and felt that they might not have the power to fight.
He looked around carefully and found that he couldn't find any weapons within his reach. It was a pain in the a.s.s.
Seeing that the man's hand had reached into the closet, Rong Yi had just got up when he suddenly heard a metallic sound.
The two people were startled, and the thief immediately squatted down and picked up something from the floor.
When stood up with the metal item and looked back at Rong Yi's bed, Rong Yi was sitting up and staring at the thing he had just picked up.
The air suddenly solidified.
Rong Yi saw a flash of cold reflection in the dark s.p.a.ce.
The man had fallen and picked up a sharp knife with a blade of 20cm. Rong Yi used it to cut vegetables at night, as it was incomparably sharp.
Under the sudden panic, Rong Yi's mind suddenly became blank. It was unknown if he was lucky, but the thief with the knife seemed to be just as fl.u.s.tered.
But with bare hands versus a deadly weapon, the psychological temperament would always be different.
After staring at each other for a while, the thief raised his knife at him while Rong Yi silently gulped.
“You, you, you, you don't move!” The knife in the thief's hand kept shaking. “You, lie down!”
Rong Yi felt that the two instructions were contradictory, but as the situation didn't favour him, he chose not to make any comments.
The thief saw it and slowly moved back towards the door. Then, without knowing what to kick, he suddenly slipped and took a step back.
Seeing his chance, Rong Yi jumped up from the bed and kicked the thief. However, after sleeping for half a night, there was no strength in it. The kick managed to push the thief back a few more steps but failed to kick the person down.
The thief was not stable, but the knife in his hand was held very tight. After being kicked and slammed into the door panel, the man's anger was stoked and he rushed over with the knife in hand.
In a hurry, he quickly threw a pillow at the thief and pulled the quilt over his head.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Rong Yi?” From the door, there was a very familiar, and nice voice. “Are you okay?”
He took a deep breath shouted with all his heart, “Thief-!”
What happened within the few seconds after that, Rong Yi did not know.
The quilt blocked most of his sight meaning that he could only hear the sound of the door being pushed open, the voice of the thief cursing, what seemed to be the sounds of two people fighting, and the voice of Chen Keyao calling his name.
The moment Rong Yi opened his quilt, he heard the metallic sound of the knife once more.
The knife fell to the ground again.
The other party had lost their weapon, and now it two-on-one. Having the advantage of numbers as well as having a master teammate, Rong Yi was naturally fearless. But just as he was ready to go up and kick around a few times, the thief was already on the ground.
In the dim light, Rong Yi could only vaguely see that Chen Keyao seemed to have pushed the thief onto the floor. The thief had some unwillingness and tried to slap Chen Keyao away. Unfortunately, in the face of a professional, his resistance was futile.
“Are you all right?” Chen Keyao turned back to look at him. “Do you have any injuries? Do you want me to take a look?”
The stunned Rong Yi shook his head. “I'm fine.”
“Then don't just stand there, call the police.”
Rong Yi hurriedly reached over to grab the phone beside his bed, all the while keeping his eyes on Chen Keyao. The moonlight reflected on Chen Keyao's face, making him look particularly pale.
But on his pale face, there was a very obvious dark trace that was slowly moving down.
After the dialling 110 and explaining the situation with the police, he switched on the ceiling fan and took a deep breath.
On the end of the phone, the policeman sounded concerned. “Is there anything else?”
“No,” Rong Yi shook his head. “You… Come quickly. We have an injured man here.”
When he hung up, Chen Keyao looked at him nervously. “You said you weren't hurt?”
Rong Yi looked at Chen Keyao's cheeks that were still dripping blood and wasn't sure whether he should laugh or cry.
Before the police arrived, Chen Keyao couldn't move.
His technique was very similar to the last time; suppressing people by holding their arms down to the floor so that they would completely lose all power.
“No wonder it feels a little itchy,” Chen Keyao said, looking down at the thief. “Brother, where did you get the knife; it's very fast.”
Rong Yi turned to his side. “Can't you knock him out first?”
“No,” Chen Keyao frowned and looked at the back of the thief's neck. “What if it killed him?”
The thief who was previously struggling immediately became still.
Rong Yi couldn't smile at all. After hesitating for a while, he rushed to the living room and began to rummage through the cabinets. “Where did you say the first-aid kit was?”
“In…” Chen Keyao thought for a moment. “The cabinet next to the sofa?”
Rong Yi opened the cabinet and looked angry. “What a mess!”
“That… look in the other side of the room; it's definitely in the living room.”
Although the house looked clean and tidy, the inside of the drawers was a disaster zone. Chen Keyao's cleaning method was roughly based on the theorem of "stuffing things out of sight.” After turning over a few drawers, Rong Yi found a thermometer and a half-box of cold medicine that had expired. The so-called first-aid kit was not found.
Chen Keyao shouted over from the other room again, “I remember it being in the cabinet next to the sofa. Do you want to…”
“Shut up,” Rong Yi said, “I'll find it myself!”
The living room wasn't small, but there weren't many drawers. Searching them one by one, Rong Yi soon found the first-aid kit.
Just before he could open it, the police arrived.
For Chen Keyao's heroic deeds, the police comrades praised him before reminding him that even if he was confident in his skills, he should always put his safety first and call the police.
As for the report, it was the middle of the night and there was no rush. They could go down tomorrow or the day after.
After the police left with the thief, Rong Yi couldn't wait any longer and opened the first-aid kit.
He frowned as he put the opened box in front of Chen Keyao. “It's an empty box!”
Chen Keyao was very surprised. “Hey… I remember there used to be a lot of stuff in there… Is it impossible the thief stole it?”
Rong Yi was speechless.
The box was pitiful, with a full pack of painkillers, a bottle of unopened iodine, and a box of unused band-aids.
Rong Yi believed that as long as an item was taken out of the box, no matter whether it had been completely used or not, would never be put back. Nowadays, supplies like gauze swabs were probably scattered around the house.
While Rong Yi was sulking, Chen Keyao carefully touched his b.l.o.o.d.y face and frowned slightly.
He looked at his hand stained with blood. “…the blood seems to have stopped; so there's no problem?”
Rong Yi looked at him and didn't say anything.
Although the wound was long, it wasn't very deep; there was no need to go to the hospital. But even though it had stopped, the wound needs to be cleaned and disinfected.
After thinking for a while, he ran back to his room, changed his clothes, grabbed his phone, then rushed out. “Sit, don't move and wait for me to come back.”
"Hey," Chen Keyao said, "there's no 24-hour pharmacy nearby. How about I use a tissue…"
“Sit down!” Rong Yi said, “wait.”
The author has something to say:
Chen Keyao x Rong Yi, 1v1, he
This sentence is written in the description and may not be noticed by people at the bottom of their phone so I will post it separately. This book is definitely not going to change the attack. In the future, there will be no plot similar to Chen Keyao's tears and begging for forgiveness. I want to talk about two losers and laymen in love. After experiencing ridiculous stories, they are thrown away by the other party because of appearance, gender, and pheromones. Then finally, they become deeply attracted to each other's personality, and then learn to get along. They will be equal in the past, present, and future. If you feel that your expectations are not being met, there is really no need to continue to torture me. You are not happy and I am not happy when I look at the comments. Why bother?
