(3rd-person POV)

In the middle of New York, amidst the chaos caused by the alien race Chitauri.

Two women suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

The first one is a golden beauty. With her golden hair fluttering in the wind, her eyes sparkled with seriousness. Her doll-like face perfectly matched her white dress. She exuded quite a strong vitality.

In contrast, the woman on her side is the complete opposite. She had an aura that screams of death and a black hair that matched with it. Her green revealing dress accentuated her mature charm and even caused the aliens around her to stop and ogle at her. She had an unmatched s.e.xual appeal.

After the two women arrived, the Chitauri around them noticed the weirdness of the situation. 'How can they suddenly appear in the middle of the street?'— was the question of everyone present.

However, they were given an answer after a while.

The golden-haired girl stretched her hands in front and opened her mouth. She chanted an incomprehensible language; a language that has no record in this world. Just as the Chitauri were confused, a black magic circle appeared on her stretched hands.

"[Black Bolt]!"

In the next moment, a black lightning bolt flew out. It headed straight towards two of the Chitauri that were shooting the civilians. Needless to say, the two of them were instantly charred. Black lightning sparks constantly circled their burnt bodies.

Despite the one firing the magic and saving the civilians, the golden-haired girl doesn't have a good expression on her face. It was quite obvious that even though the ones she killed were aliens, she still thought of them as lives. The girl has a pure heart, that's for sure.

"If you always show mercy to your enemies, in the future, you will be the one that will get killed." Seeing the girl's expression, the black-haired woman berated.

"I know!" Saying so, she fired another magic spell at the nearby Chitauri to stop them from shooting people. Curiously enough, all her spells included the use of the darkforce.

The black-haired woman watched this unfold. Honestly, she still doesn't understand why her lord put importance to this human. She's weak, she's gullible, and she's too soft-hearted. Based on her lord's past personality, this woman wouldn't even pa.s.s as their castle's maid.

'So why her? I am the one who stayed by his side. I fulfilled all of his wishes and offered my whole being. Why am I not the one getting his attention? Is it still not enough? Should I...'

Just as the thought of killing the golden-haired woman entered her mind, she stopped. She doesn't know what her lord would do to her if he realizes. She was more afraid of abandonment than neglection. At this moment, she realizes that all she needed to do was to obey the orders given to her and wait for his praise. Right now, that is enough for her.

She casted the [Turn Undead] spell to the Chitauri killed by the golden-haired woman. The Chitauri, who were supposed to be dead, rose up and fought against their own race. They fired their energy-based rifles towards their previous comrades. When the rifles. .h.i.t them in return, they would still continue to fight back like mindless robots. It's like they don't know any pain.

Whenever the golden-haired woman killed a Chitauri, that Chitauri will rise up again to join the undead army, causing it to expand in no time. That scene continued to unfold as the golden-haired woman and the black-haired woman walks down the street, saving civilians on their way.

At that moment, a red-haired beauty and a guy with a s.h.i.+eld b.u.mped into them. The two of them fought the Chitauri in hand-to-hand combat. The red-haired woman showed agility and flexibility in her moves, while the guy with the s.h.i.+eld showed strength beyond a normal man. Four pair of eyes stared at each other with curiosity. Both parties were surprised as they met one another.

"Lynn? Is that you?" The first to speak was the red-haired woman, who called out to the golden-haired one.

"Nat? What are you wearing?" The golden-haired woman, Lynn, opened her eyes widely at her friend. She was surprised too; to see her friend in here fighting the Chitauri army in that get-up.

"Work clothes." Natasha patted her hips to remove the dust and replied curtly. "More importantly, how can you, uhh, use magic? I'm surprised you didn't tell me before."

"Ehehe~ thanks. I went under training with her." Lynn pointed to the black-haired woman beside her.

The black-haired woman, on the other hand, raised her guard. Although Lynn knows them, she doesn't know these two people. She was asked to watch Lynn; if any mishaps happened to Lynn, she would return her lord's expectations with a failure again.

"Fury didn't tell me about this." The guy with the s.h.i.+eld whispered to Natasha.

"I don't think he knows either." Natasha said while eyeing the two of them. They have general information about Lynn, but she doesn't think they have any on the black-haired woman. More importantly, she was surprised they didn't have any information about humans using magic. "What do we do, Cap?"

The one she referred to as Captain, Steve Rogers, replied instantly after thinking. "For now, we need as much help as we can get to deal with these things. There are still many civilians running around the street and much more trapped inside the buildings."

"Let me help!" Lynn cheered out after hearing him.

"Thank you." Steve then turned to the black-haired woman beside her. But before he can speak, the woman beat him into it.

"I don't take orders from anyone except my lord's. I am just here to keep an eye on her." She coldly looked at them as she said so.

"Understood." Steve nodded forcefully. He just noticed the undead army behind the woman is still fighting while they're talking to each other.

'It's a shame that she won't listen to me, but as long as she helps deal with these aliens, it's fine.' Steve thought in his mind.

The group of four advanced with ease with the addition of the undead Chitauri. They mowed everything in their path.

"It feels like there's no end to this." Lynn said while firing a magic spell. She was quite exhausted not from casting magic but from running around. She didn't know it but the elements surrounding her are helping her use the darkforce efficiently. It is like an auto-correct in games.

"Captain, none of this is gonna mean a d.a.m.n thing if we don't close that portal." Natasha said after firing a Chitauri gun to blast a Chitauri away.

"Our biggest guns couldn't touch it."

"Well, maybe it's not about the guns." Natasha looked up.

Just then, a group of Chitauri on flying vehicles went over them.

"You wanna get up there, you're gonna need a ride." Steve cautiously said.

"I got a ride." Natasha glanced at the flying Chitauri crafts. She distanced herself from Steve. "I could use a boost though."

"You sure about this?" Steve readied his s.h.i.+eld in front of him.

"Yeah, it's gonna be fun." Natasha ran towards Steve, who then used his s.h.i.+eld to propel her up. She grabbed a Chitauri vehicle and was gone in just a few moments.

The black-haired woman watched this scene. She sneered, but in the next moment, her expression changed. Her lord is also on his way to destroy that portal. The thought of her lord meeting another woman brought a frown to her face.
