Death's Scythe Chapter 19: [ Dungeon#2 ]

A tree . Connected to the earth with it's roots deep in the soil . ' I'll say it looks like Yggdrasil , but the world tree is way too big to be compared . A red wood would be much more suitable of a comparison .'

Leo walked up to the thick bark of the tree which reached a huge height which Leo had no patience to measure . Looking at the small opening which could fit a person with a height of roughly 3 meters , Leo said " Let's go . "

Leah followed behind as she looked around " It's beautiful ."

Leo couldn't help but chuckle " Must be much more dangerous , then ."

The dungeon was just like the inside of a hollowed out tree with a roof about 10m above the ground . Leo looked at the roof and told Leah about the dungeon ." The dungeon has 5 floors . 4 floors with 3000 monsters each and the last floor which has the boss . We only know that the first 2 floors have basic-intermediate tier monsters and the ones above have Middle-Intermediate . The boss fluctuates between middle to upper intermediate , so we beat it or not is based on luck . We both use fire element in out attacks so we should get a bit of advantage . We will , once again go our different ways to train in our own ways , then meet at the stairs ."

Leah nodded her head and started walking away . Leo thought he wanted to say something else , instead he just said in a low voice " Take care ."

Leah stopped as she heard his voice , but continued walking without turning back .

Leo looked the other way and smiled to himself ' I think it's about time I took out my weapon . ' He said as his hand reached behind his back and as if naturally the scythe slowly came into existence . He felt the area around his Mark of Death burn up as he heard the voice after a long time ' Master called for me . Does he want to play with me ?'

Leo laughed and started running towards the monsters as his eyes s.h.i.+ned ' Let's get used to this at the very least .'

He swung around the scythe naturally as memories from the game came to his mind . He directly sliced the heads off of the wood deers and every once in a while as he jumped off of one's body he directly cut another in half . The scythe moved like a part of his body as he kept hearing an annoying voice in his head .

' My master cut a head .'

' My master cut another one .'

' My master will make a collection of heads if he keeps going like this .'

But he ignored it all as his scythe lit on a dark flame that burnt everything in it's path . ' I can never be burnt .' He heard a voice in his head but continued his reaping .

After a few hours he reached near the stairs and saw his sister waiting for him sitting on a stair going above .

' Shoo away .' He said in his mind and released his hold as the scythe slowly turned into dust and vanished . ' I will introduce you as a cat to her later so you both can get along .

' As master wishes .' He heard a playful giggle .

He smiled as he approached Leah and said " Killed all of them ? "

She smiled back and said " Any that came in my way ." She stood up and corrected her clothes then began rising up the stairs .

Leo smiled wryly and followed behind her ' She seems to change when hunting .' He thought ' In a weird way .'

They reached the 2nd floor and parted again . This time Leo did not want to use a scythe ' I've got too used to my arms . I will need to use it , but now is not the time .' He thought and heard a sigh in his head ' My master is too uncomfortable when using me .' He just smiled and continued on his way towards the 3rd floor . He was much more suited to killing with his claws . Even though a scythe reminded him of an old time , the pride of a dragon did not allow him to depend on a tool .

He tore the shrub-tailed deers one by one as he proceeded . ' Feeling the blood on my hands is the best .' He thought and continued his streak of killing the basic-intermediate tier monsters .

He teased Leah a little as he ran into her and saw her fight . Even though he thought of it as teasing , he didn't realise but he gave her new ways of using her abilities .

After watching Leah fight for the rest of the way , he was a little exhausted , so he ate a bit of food they had prepared .

" Fire magic is good and all , but if you are a support type hero , you should look for something suited a little more for defense ." He said " If you are going to be in the back anyways , why not learn to protect yourself . Fire magic can't cover defenses very well ."

He did not have much information about fire magic , but he at least knew there was no way for fire to be good enough to protect someone . He ended up suggesting her to look for someone to teach her ice magic . Leah nodded and fell deep in thought but said nothing about his suggestion .

' I wonder if the theories are really as heard to learn as the others say .' He wondered .

On the 3rd floor onwards , there were going to be Middle-Intermediate tier monsters . ' Show me my attributes .' Leo thought .

Leo looked at the alert with confusion . ' What does the pseudo mean ?'

[ When a monster or hero is 95% of their way to increasing their tier , They are considered pseudo-(next tier) by the system ]

Leo nodded his head as he realized what was happening . Anything less than 95 attribute total will not give him attribute points or increase his growth boost . ' I will have to kill stronger opponents . ' He grinned at the thought .

The system was finally ready to give him a challenge .
