Chapter 64 The Family Gathering
Zhou Yu had many hoes in his house. But there were no special hoes that could be used to plant the Seed Of Equipment. So although he was curious, the seed could only be kept in the storage room like the Seed Of Adventurer, waiting for the moment to be awakened. Anyway, it was not a problem to have more seeds. There would be a day when he could grow all of them.
The wind was bone-chilling cold, and the winter vacation finally came. After the difficult final exam, children finally met with the holiday that they had been waiting for a long time. Although it was not as long as the summer vacation, there was Spring Festival, plus most people in the village had already come back, it was much more bustling than the summer vacation.
The number of people had also increased several times in Zhou Yu’s house. If it did not count the people in the Mini Luhua village.
His parents and grandparents finally came back. And his mother was not satisfied with the environment at all. As soon as they came back, they began to prepare to clean the house thoroughly again. His father didn’t have any opinions, because it was much better than what he had seen the last time when he came back. Grandpa and grandma were busy visiting every villager. They really missed their fellow villagers, after not coming back for several years.
Zhou Yu was really not used to have his old desolate haunted house suddenly turned into a place that was buzzing with noises.
However, his parents and grandparents were not used to the house even more.
Having not returned home for several years, the overall change in the old house was not big, except for the newly built flower greenhouse. But there was a sense of strangeness everywhere. The toy house was full of wooden toys, the toolhouse with various strange tools, the weird vegetable field that had many strange vegetables in there, and Diandian – a chicken that looked more like a warhorse than an actual chicken, etc…
They could only try to adapt to the old home that they were supposed to be very familiar with. Especially their yard was turned into an outdoor cinema almost every night. Although it was replaying the previous animated movies, their appeal to children remained unchanged, many children still showed up.
Even if it was much colder after nightfall, children were still reluctant to miss every movie. They would always wear thick clothes and watch the screen quietly while breathing out while clouds.
The old village chief laughed and told Zhou Yu’s Grandpa Zhou Nianshou about the changes of his grandson since he came to the village, especially the small cinema, which brought a lot of joy to the children.
Grandpa liked fis.h.i.+ng and Grandma liked potted plants. During this period, they were very satisfied with what their grandson had done. There were altogether 7 or 8 fis.h.i.+ng rods in the toolhouse. Each one of them was like a beautiful antique and every one of them had their own characteristics. The old man loved them so much that he would almost play with them every day. If it weren’t for the fact that it was too difficult to fish in winter, he would have probably already taken the fis.h.i.+ng rod to the river.
Grandma was very interested in those elegant potted plants. She still grew potted plants in the city. The potted plants, that were made by the people she met in the potted plant community, were not as good as the ones that were made by her grandson. Whether it was the appearance of the potted plants or the artistic conception of the potted plants, they were all not ordinary.
Looking at the flower greenhouse, the small houses scattered in the mini village. All of them were extremely delicate as if they were real houses but much much smaller. It was impossible to make such work without patience. Perhaps only in the village, was her grandson able to clam down and do something like this.
In this way, the old couple no longer objected to the decision to keep their grandson in the hometown. As long as their grandson liked it, there was no much of difference between living in the village and living in the city. With their support, Zhou Hong and his wife could only agree to it. Although they still preferred their child to stay in the city.
“Yu, since you want to stay, you will need to improve your living condition. I heard that your uncle Fu’s villa was designed with the help of your friend. Our house doesn’t need to be that good, but it can’t be too bad either. If you go out with someone in the future, having a village villa will help you a lot.”
Mother Yang Xiulan was very happy when she learned about what her son did in the village. But immediately she began to worry about his son’s marriage. It was hard to see a few young people in the village in a year, let alone meet someone that was reasonably suitable for her son. Moreover, her son was not a type of person that liked to reveal his feelings. So it was impossible for her son to date someone without someone helping him.
If it was a blind date, the in-depth discussion of both families’ backgrounds would bound to happen. Although discussing things like income, saving, cars, and houses would be too material, this was a material world. Her son had money, and his income was not a problem either. Although her son did not like cars, if girls liked it, her son was still able to afford it. What was left was the housing problem. Saying that her son was living in a village would most likely ruin the date. However, saying that her son had a countryside villa, would be totally different.
Yang Xiulan went to Zhou Fu’s home two days ago. That villa was absolutely the most beautiful house in Luhua village. Whoever pa.s.sed by, would raise their thumbs and praise that it was a beautiful villa. Zhou Fu was a real rich man. Having a beautiful villa was understandable. But her son’s house did not need to be that good. It just needed to be better than other villagers’ houses.
Speaking of this, Zhou Yu went to the toolhouse and took out the house that was designed by the carpenter beaver and placed it directly in front of his mother.
Both Zhou Yu’s father and mother were highly educated people. So at first glance, they could easily tell that the design that Zhou Yu brought to them was better than Zhou Fu’s villa. However, how much would it cost to build this one? It was said that Zhou Fu spent hundreds of thousands of Chinese Yuan. And it did not even count the internal decoration. Based on that figure, this one would definitely cost more than a million Chinese Yuan.
Zhou Hong was quite satisfied when he looked at it. At the same time, he also knew that the cost must be quite high. So he just said, “great house.” After retirement, it would really be a pleasure to chat with a few old friends and drink some tea in this kind of house once in every three or five days. “How much is it still short? We should be able to sc.r.a.pe up enough to build one.”
Zhou Yu shook his head and said, “At first, there was indeed a problem with the money. But now my friend said that there will be a better design, so I’m going to wait and see.”
During this period, the profit made by “The War Of Soybean Pudding” had gradually been transferred into his account. He now definitely had enough money to build one. But because of the joining of Stonemason monkey, there was no need to rush. At present, he was not in a hurry to live in a new home, and his parents had not retired yet. So he still wanted to wait.
He wanted to build it in one go lest he regretted it when he saw a much better design.
Seeing his son had his own plan, Zhou Hong and his wife did not insist on it anymore. But they were still looking forward to the more beautiful design that Zhou Yu’s friend was talking about.
It was normal for Zhou Yu, who used to live alone, feel uncomfortable when the number of people in his house suddenly doubled. He now had to be extra cautious when talking to the people in mini Luhua village. It would only cause misunderstanding if his parents saw it.
But there was also a benefit. It was that he was able to eat delicious food.
Although mother’s cooking skill could not be compared with the professional chefs, she was much better than Zhou Yu. Zhou Yu, who was accustomed to braised meat, could finally have some good meals.
“Mom, the tomato with scrambled eggs you made today was really good. It was like it was made by the professional chef.”
It was honestly good. There were also scrambled eggs with tomatoes yesterday, but obviously, today’s dish was much better. Zhou Yu was curious where did his mother learn the new secret recipe. It was a huge improvement.
“You also felt that way? The vegetables, that are planted by ourself, are always better than the ones that are on the market. Those are always filled with chemical fertilizer. Unfortunately, the quant.i.ty was too little. Yu, if you are free, plant some more vegetables, it is also a good exercising method.”
Seeing the tomatoes in the vegetable field was almost mature this morning, Yang Xiulan decided to make a dish out of those tomatoes. Unexpectedly, the dish that was made out of those tomatoes was extremely delicious. Everyone who had tested the dish in her family would constantly praise that the dish was delicious.
Hearing what she said, Zhou Yu immediately ran outside to check the small vegetable field. As he expected, the tomatoes in the small vegetable field were all gone, and Uncle Guan Er was facing the empty tomato trees feeling gloomy.
Alas, what else could he say? He could not just tell his mother that these tomatoes were used to make alcoholic beverages.
As for the tragic accident, the brewery and the pub could only endure this difficult period.
‘I’m sorry guys!’
