Chapter 1. I Wish for a Miracle

1 The villainess’ first love

The ‘me’ before lived a busy and stuffy life.

As a student I studied, as a member of society I worked. Studies and work, when I realized time was always chasing after me, and my life became more hectic after the s.h.i.+ft from a student’s life to one of work.

As I wake up in the morning, go to work, work until I drop and return back home late at night. A full repet.i.tion. Gradually, I dazed off more and started to develop dizziness. My only pleasure through this kind of life is by reading web novels, though I did not have ample of time to enjoy it. Only during the short time in between commuting to work, before sleep, sometimes during the time of cooking a simple dish or during meals would I indulge myself in web novels.

One day, I found a certain short web novel.

The story revolves around the heroine, Minosa, who overcame the doings of the villainess, Rhonya. About how Minosa was able to steal away Rhonya’s fiancé and make him her own. Amidst the curiosity, I continued on reading the novel.

The heroine is the daughter of a Baron, while the villainess a Count’s. Their fierce battle started from the beginning and continued on. Of course the villainess has a bad personality, but the heroine is equally strong to stand up to her. The villainess had the tables turned on her, which resulted in her evil acts being exposed in public and her fiancé stolen away. While the heroine obtains the red string of fate with her loved one, the fiancé of the villainess.

I who finished reading the novel tilted my head unconsciously. It seems the novel was quite popular in the internet, but it was not to my liking. It was all about attacking someone and retaliating back to that attack… As it repeats, all that is left is just fatigue.

I believe there should have been a more peaceful way to end it. But then the story would not have been so exciting. As I deeply think of such, the usual dizziness came about and I fell on the spot.

As my consciousness fade away, I suddenly thought about how I could’ve died just like that.

…Well, whatever.

I’m too tired already, too tired to even rise up.

I have lived with the best I could. Thinking back, it was a harsh life. Most of the time I agonized with only slight times of happiness. If I could have another life, I wish to have a laid-back life. A life filled with much happiness, and live a happy life.

—A laid-back life.

As I embrace that wish, I reincarnated. To add, it was in the world of the web novel I read moments before my death.

My current name is Rhonya Gavizera, the villainess and the Count’s daughter.

Having silver hair which s.h.i.+nes in sky blue at the sight of light and blue eyes. The first time I saw myself in the mirror, the westernized facial features that I had felt odd. As if I was not myself, and even now I am unable to fully accept the fact.

My family holds the most influential power within the n.o.bles, and is renowned as the ‘Ruler of the Capital’s Southeaster’.

Without a doubt the next head of the family would be my brother, but my role as a member of the Count’s family engaged me to several types of education as soon as I was aware of my surroundings.

Equestrian and dance is a must, as well as the rules and manners of a n.o.ble were all stuffed into my head.

At first, all I could do was accept the fact as I was born to a n.o.ble’s family, and worked hard towards them. But as a child, doing it at a slower pace would have been ideal. I wanted to live a more relaxed life.

The day I turned 7, I resolved to talk about it to my mother…

*SLAP!

Her palm stroke my face, leaving the small me falling down on the carpet.

“What a lazy person are you! Are you really my daughter!?” As I got scolded by my mother as such, all I could feel was fear wholeheartedly. My brother who was 5 years older than me who was present glared at me with a scornful gaze.

…Then, being a n.o.ble would mean that I do not have time to play around like a child would and my time filled with cla.s.ses. That having time to relax is impossible…

But I… I do not want to live my life as how I had done. Else this will just be another repet.i.tion of my previous life. I would be better off not being a n.o.ble and just run away from the house.

What stopped me from acting as so was the fact that a small child like me would not be able to live by myself, and the fact that the presence of my grandfather was too dear to me. While my mother and brother did not shower me with warmth, my grandfather was kind.

Soon after my grandmother pa.s.sed away to sickness, my grandfather decided to retire and handed over the head of family status to my father. He then started to live a secluded life, but still had influential power among the n.o.bles.

My grandfather would sometimes come to visit, and when he does, cla.s.ses end quicker than usual and I am able to spend some time relaxing with him. That is the only times of tranquility in my busy life.

Aah, how great would it be to just cry in my grandfather’s arms and request to live a secluded life together with him. It was when I turned 9 did I seriously thought of so, and my engagement was decided. For the benefit of both families, a political marriage decided by both sides of parents. The younger brother of the king was granted the status of a Duke, his authority was lower of a va.s.sal’s but the quickest way to reach the status of royalty. As the engagement with his son was decided, the path towards living a secluded life with my grandfather is no more.

Schneider was of the same age as me, and the Zeolant family is expecting me to grow into a beauty in the near future. All I could do was paste a smile on my face as I listen.

In short, I am to be a woman good enough to be displayed by his side. To him, I would be just a decoration. And I would have to answer his expectations and have to work harder in my cla.s.ses from now on.

At that moment, all I could see was darkness but thinking it properly this is the novel’s world. In the future, he would go to the same school as I do and annul our engagement.

That’s right, if I accept that fate, I can be free after.

The engagement annulled, I would be expelled from the school as well as the Gavizera Count family. Until then, I would need to discuss the matter beforehand with my grandfather and start my preparations… After, I can definitely live a laid-back life.

According to the novel, the annulment would proceed when I become 16. Which means I would need to preserve until I turn 16. If I can preserve… If I can just preserve until then… Then definitely… and so I suggest to myself.

Within the simple sandgla.s.s, the beautiful grains of green emerald peridot jewel-like sands s.h.i.+ne beautifully and fall towards the lower part.

Will all really be well if I just preserve? 7 years is a very long time. How many times would I need to flip in terms of this sandgla.s.s’ time? Or alternatively, how much sand would it need to make a sandgla.s.s to measure the 7 years?

I imagined as I gaze upon the s.h.i.+ning grains of green jewel-like sands…. What a waste of time.

Rather than using up that time to preserve, it would be better to get to a quicker way to annul the engagement.

Just like in the novels I read in the previous life, like the stories of how the protagonist reincarnated into the villainess and changed her fate.

If possible, I would hope for a peaceful way to annul the engagement but that would prove to be difficult. Then, like the protagonists in the novels I read in my previous live, I should act to make Schneider hate me. Even though I resolved to do so…

The day I first met Schneider, he blurted out an unexpected speech.

“Even though our parents decided on this political marriage, but I want to be in love with you. Let us rear love within each other.”

The young him with an serious expression like an adult’s, held out his hand.

His words and action astonished me. What he wanted was not a decorative woman beside him.

As I gaze towards him to ascertain his real intentions, I let out a smile.

Aah, he is not telling a lie. He is not looking towards me as his partner of a political marriage but instead, he looks towards me with love in his eyes.

—Then maybe, what awaits me is another fate different from one of the novel’s.

That I can graduate without any problems and become Schneider’s wife, a loving couple.

As I imagine being in a future where Schneider loves me, I felt that I could bear living a stuffed n.o.ble life. That moment when a seed of hope is planted.

—I want to lay back.

One day, I shared the wish I have long had with Schneider. He did rise in anger or scorn me, but encouraged me, saying ‘Rhonya, you have preserved enough’. I who was filled with much happiness, realized I had shed tears. On days during Schneider’s visit there are no cla.s.ses, for he is the son the younger brother of the king, the son of the Zeolant Duke. He is to be prioritized than cla.s.ses.

During his visits, I would ensure that no eyes are on me and would lay down on the room’s sofa or on the gra.s.s beds and act loosely. Then, he would definitely say as so.

“Rhonya, please don’t use the time for us to spend together to nap instead.”

“……”

“Already asleep? Rhonya?”

“…… *make sleeping voice*”

“You’re just pretending asleep, aren’t you!” Schneider who shrugged his shoulders and dumbfounded.

But he allows me when I want to relax, which made me very happy.

The time we spend together is spent without stories of others. It was all about our likes and dislikes, about the school we would go to when we turn 12 and that we will learn magic there.

Although the time I spend together with him is by far not long, but it was always peaceful and full of warmth.

Each time I meet with Schneider, I would bake sweets and brew coffee myself.

This all started due to a certain incident. One day, me and Schneider was spending time together in a certain room of the house with the presence of another young servant, which prevented me from acting too loosely. I then reached out to the coffee the servant brewed which was too thick and did not match my taste. But asking him to brew another cup would be ungrateful. Hence I brewed another one by myself, and then…

“P-pardon my actions, Rhonysama!”

The young servant turned pale and lowered his head.

“Please do not apologize, I just…”

“My deepest apologies!”

“…”

The young servant who fervently apologize even though I was not angry bewildered me.

“Please forgive me as I am unable to brew it as properly as the others…” As the young servant spoke and kneeled.

The others who he mentioned would probably be the other servant. So to speak, the servants of the Gavizera house are all perfect. Thus the pressure got to him, and being nervous was probably the cause of him being unable to work optimally.

Schneider was dumbfounded towards the young servant who continuously asked for forgiveness in front of Rhonya.

“…Rhonya, don’t tell me you are strict towards others?”

“That is not true, Schneider.”

If I had to say, I am quite soft on others as well as myself. Regardless, the young servant seems to be overbearingly hard on himself. I felt sorry to have done something I shouldn’t have.

Afterwards, the young servant left the Gavizera house and said to reimburse his faults on another day. While I was unable to stop him, I secretly asked a favor from my grandfather and asked him to re-employ the young servant to serve him.

And so, the incident brought the chance for me to brew the coffee by myself and taking the chance together, I decided to bake sweets as well and asked to be taught from the chefs working in the Gavizera house.

My family members seemed unconsent of my actions but after Schneider followed up and told them ‘I asked her to do so’, I was given more time other than my cla.s.ses to make them. As the fiancé asked of so, my family members have no choice but to oblige.

Thus I was taught the ways of brewing coffee and tea, as well as baking sweets. The time I spend on the trial and error was fun. Further, the drinks and sweets I serve to Schneider and my grandfather was liked by both of them.

As time pa.s.s by and we both turn 12, we entered the elite school San Crisante Academy. All the n.o.ble sons and daughter enroll in this academy. Moments before my enrollment, I studied under a demon instructor and I studied until I almost puked blood. The results brought me to getting the highest score in the entrance exam amongst the ladies. I continued to achieve first in the exams which followed later on. But that did not mean anything to my family, instead, I was expected to get first and nothing else even though my parents and brother did not achieve so.

If by chance I did not take first, I would definitely be scolded as I had brought shame to the Gavizera family. Their eyes speak of so.

I then started the dorm life starting my second year and spend by days with studies. My family persisted that I live in the dorms to work hard in achieving valedictorian. Apart from school studies, I had to juggle them with the cla.s.ses my mother a.s.signed to me.

Even if the studies was far more than my student life in my previous life, but not meeting with my strict family was a leeway for my heart. The studies on magic was interesting, and dorm life was fulfilling. To add, I am able to create a better relations.h.i.+p with Schneider.

On another fine day, I and Schneider sat beside each other on a bench at the garden’s greenhouse, where warm light illuminated the place. While enjoying a cup of fragrant coffee, Schneider faced towards me with a serious expression.

“Rhonya”

The blonde hair s.h.i.+ning brightly and almond shaped blue eyes, his features are that of a prince of a fairy tale. As Schneider took the coffee cup from my hand and put in on top of the table, he tightly grasped both my hands.

“Let’s kiss”

That sudden moment I was befuddled as I look upon his fiery blue eyes.

Although this is a political marriage which both our parents decided, I want to be in love with you, let’s rear love with each other. Just like the words Schneider said, he treasures me much.

We gradually became able to hold hands and join our arms, and recently became able to kiss on the palm and cheek. But, what Schneider demanded was a kiss on the lips.

“That… wasn’t it supposed to be decided after we graduate? We’re still 13 years old right now.”

“Just a kiss. Please?” His eyes filled with conviction wavered my heart. If the future ends up as the flow of the scenario, I should refuse his request. But Schneider, looking towards me with love made me want to believe in him. Schneider could.. would bring me towards a happy end. As I believe so, I accepted his request.

As I take a deep breath and slowly closed my eyes, nervous beyond my imagination. My heartbeat getting quicker, my body stiffen.

“Rhonya… I love you”

Schneider and my lips touched.

As I slowly opened my eyes, Schneider turned slightly red and content, smiling towards me and I returned it with a smile.

—That was my wish for a miracle, my first love and my first kiss.

**This is a teaser since i was reading it as well, so might as well TL it together. Skipped vol 1 and started from vol 2 around a week ago, currently at middlepoint of vol 3 where I am so healed by their story and would like to share this series with the readers.

Would you like to fund a cuppa kohi to go to Rho-nyan’s cafe?

Lots of mofumofu, fuwafuwa and loves

The WN is a bit of a ha.s.sle to obtain (alphapolis yeah =w=) and TL, so I will use the LN.

This will be a sponsored series, with a rate of approximate 4-5pages or 1500words/cup since it’s in LN form~ *will adjust accordingly later on. Code will be ‘For Rho-nya~’

As we turn 14, our days turned busier. We are now third years, the middle point until we graduate. The 6 years where n.o.ble sons and daughters spend their time in San Crisante Academy, is built in the city metropolis. The beautiful shrine like building which is also a slight distance to the castle. The other buildings are built surrounding these 2 structures.

My life which revolves around coming and going between the Academy and the dorms too gradually started to change, as invitations to parties in the castle started to come towards me. Of course, during the times I attend these parties, Schneider would be together with me. I then go around the dazzling venue with him for greetings.

We naturally become known as the ‘Elite Couple ever since San Crisante’s founding’ as we continue to maintain first in grades. Nevertheless, my family still did not recognize my achievements. My family frequently attended the parties as well, and was always expressionless when others complimented me, they thought of it to be a matter of course, and my brother would blurt out phrases such as ‘getting first among the ladies would be easy’. Amidst those times, I would force a smile and Schneider would then say to me ‘Be proud, Rhonya. You have achieved amazingly’ and I would always return it with a gentle smile towards him who always kindly encourage me.

I am content with just Schneider’s understanding, and that is all I needed.

The plans about our marriage started to get into order after we turn 15. Schneider strongly wished for our immediate marriage soon after our graduation. By then, we are treated as a couple in the Academy. But after Schneider insisted that we are engaged, they too started to treat us as so.

And so came the day Schneider first met the novel’s heroine. As I started to think that there may be hope that the future won’t be the same as the scenario, they both still met.

The daughter of the Baron, Misano Aroga.

A beautiful lady with black hair and eyes who dislikes being surrounded, the type of student who likes to be alone. The sociable Schneider aggressively started to talk to Misano-jou, and they quickly became rapport. Misano-jou who is usually expressionless would turn into a gentle expression when talking to Schneider, as the flow of the novel, Misano-jou fell in love with him.

Speaking frankly, Schneider is popular.

The son of the younger brother of the king who is talented and not arrogant. He has the trust of people around him and is liked by everyone. On the contrary, I only have a few of whom I can call as friends, but I was not especially disliked by others.

Amidst the days of continuous studies, I would act loosely between times and Schneider would turn dumbfounded as usual but always vainly take care of me. At times when I fall asleep, he would then carry me. Schneider who was always kind and understanding of me. But then he gradually changed.

Following the scenario came the year where our engagement would be annulled and I, expelled from the Academy. But it will definitely be fine. As I started to think of so and my insecurities grew.

Recently, I frequently saw Schneider and Misano-jou together even outside of cla.s.ses and Schneider would stop their conversation when he saw a glimpse of me and approach me. Misano-jou would then glare at me.

To begin with, she views me as a rival. She had always maintained second in grades among the ladies whilst not having an instructor, and worked hard by her own. In truth, she is talented and excels in magic. She may probably be more talented than I do. On the other hand, I had a demon instructor a.s.signed to me way before enrolling into the academy and thanks to it, had always maintained first in grades among the ladies.

To her, I am but an eyesore and to add that I am the fiancé of the person she likes. It would be expected that she hates me even more, but I lived my life and not minding her.

It will all be fine, Schneider’s heart is with me.

On a certain day when I was carrying a few heavy books which was used as resources for the cla.s.s to the library and going down the stairs. The moment I started climbing down, a student suddenly came and b.u.mped towards me, incidentally the books I held fell. The blunt sound of books scattered in the ground, and one of which almost fell to the ground. As I fl.u.s.ter and chase after the book, I then picked it up from the before it reaches the bottom of the stairs… There, I found Misano-jou standing. As I was focusing on the book, I did not realize she was there, and the book had almost hit her. Her face turned grim.

As I felt sorry and brought out my n.o.ble daughter smile “My apologies, that was not on purpose.”.

As a daughter of a n.o.ble, my response was not wrong. But Misano-jou was not satisfied with it and glared back at me.

Did my tone of voice annoyed her? Or maybe was Misano-jou thinking that was my way of hara.s.sment to stop her and Schneider from getting close to each other. As I was thinking about to apologize again, she had turned the other way and went away.

On another day during the middle of magic cla.s.s, a certain student’s magic went out of control.

“Rhonya!”

The cl.u.s.ter of magic with an unpleasant buzzing sound flew towards my direction. Schneider was swiftly moving towards my side but I had responded quicker and reflected the cl.u.s.ter of magic. As unfortunate as it was, the reflected magic headed towards the direction of Misano-jou. It had barely missed Misano-jou, and I was glared at again.

…T-that’s not on purpose…

The student who was reckless was scolded and the cla.s.s continued on per usual, and lastly matches was conducted… And my opponent was Misano-jou.

Since the match influences our grades, I went all out against her and won. Misano-jou had a fierce glare towards me.

…B-but this can’t be helped right…

Coincidentally, all these happenings went precisely the same as the novel’s scenario. In short, even though I did not hold any ill will, it looked as if I was hara.s.sing Misano-jou. Even if I did not do anything, everything felt like it was heading precisely towards the ending of the novel. My worries grew even more.

As the only daughter of the Gavizera family, ‘Ruler of the Capital’s Southeaster’, various kinds of people would approach me. Additionally, I was engaged to the son of the younger brother of the king. With few people which I could call friends, but I had many cohorts of n.o.ble daughters. They would frequently invite me to tea parties, and shockingly, even a special s.p.a.ce for my personal use was prepared.

I was invited today as well by several of them and approached the tea party s.p.a.ce. The s.p.a.ce was built on the first floor of a s.p.a.ce which blocks wind and was like a salon. Nearby was a helix stairway which is connected to the second and third floor’s hallway.

Truth to be told, I wanted to relax alone but thinking of the future, interacting with the n.o.ble daughters were more important. In the room filled with the gentle warmth of sunlight, I prepared the drinks and sweets. In the beginning, the n.o.ble daughters felt too honored to be served the tea I prepared, but eventually they became used to it. They loved teas which was popular, as I prepare so for them, I then prepared a cup of coffee for myself.

“Rhonysama, about Misano-jou, isn’t she acting too familiar with Schneider-sama recently?”

“Rhonysama, wouldn’t it be wise to show her to know her own place?”

The conversation topic today is about Misano-jou.

The n.o.ble daughters in beautiful dresses under the gentle sunlight, while enjoying a cup of tea elegantly is spurting dangerous thoughts with lovely smiles.

“Misano-jou is definitely planning something to steal Schneider-sama away from you. Rhonysama, would you like to remind her of her standing?”

I returned a smile to them who suggested those ideas with a lovely smile.

“There is no need for such, I believe” As I answered, the n.o.ble daughters had an impressed expression.

“My, Rhonysama. You are as calm as always.”

“Truly, what a wonderful person you are.”

“Rather than that, the tea today is marvelous as well.”

“Yes it is, the sweets as well.”

And I felt relieved after the topic changed. But the next moment, black creatures came crawling down from midair.

“Gyaaaaaa!!” The n.o.ble daughter screamed out loud.

Looking closer, the black creatures were spiders the size of a fist.

“Nooooooooo!!” with a pale face, the n.o.ble daughters fl.u.s.tered.

On the other hand I was composed. Other than the creature with the initial G**, I am fine with everything else.

Rather, these spiders which a plump abdomen and big round eyes look adorable to me. As I look upwards toward the hallway of the second floor, I could see the figure of Misano-jou with an expression as if she had won and went away. She was responsible for this.

The n.o.ble daughters then rus.h.i.+ngly ran away, it seems they were really scared of spiders.

While I observe the spiders and drinking a cup of coffee, a refres.h.i.+ng voice can be heard from behind.

“Hi there Rhonyjou! Having tea alone today?”

As I look back, there was Henzel Riley with silky golden hair tied up to the back.

The riley house is a merchant with wide connections, and their accomplishment awarded them the seat of Baron. Henzel is the first son of the Rileys and studies on business management to help his father, as well as learning the ways of a n.o.ble in this Academy. His innocent personality enabled him to act friendlily with anyone. He is also allied with Schneider and understands him well, and one of the few friends I have.  Henzel enjoyed the coffee I made and sometimes will come over for a cup.

There is another friend which I treasure as well… As soon as she became a fifth year student, she had to take a break from the Academy to help out with her parents who have work overseas.

While the answer to his question of me having a tea party by myself, I could only put up a vague smile. Henzel eyes was then directed to the table.

“…Spiders? Are you testing out a different kind of tea party?” Henzel, tilting his head with his blue eyes wide opened.

“Aren’t they cute?” I gloss over with a smile.

The natural-head he is, he did not question further and just replied with a “Yes they are” and return a smile while sitting on the chair opposite of me.

I then brewed a cup of coffee for Henzel.

“Hmm.. Rhonyjou’s coffee is definitely the best. How about making a business out of it?”

“It’s not as good to be able to open up a business for.”

“No no no, I will definitely pay to drink this.” Henzel with a grin on his face. His likeable grin is not to flatter, but is truly to convey his true feelings. Hence why I was able to smile from my heart.

–It is true that I am interested to try a job such as one of brewing coffee like this.

That it’s possible to just stop being a n.o.ble daughter and start a café instead.

Then I can relax and lay back more than I could now.

As I absentmindedly thought of so, I realized that Henzel was more silent than usual. Usually, he would start topic one after another and talk much more.

“…Henzel-sama?”

He was glaring at the half-filled tea cups and half-eaten sweets on the table which was served to the n.o.ble daughters’ just a moment ago.

Henzel then directed a kind gaze towards me. “Rhonyjou, please call me Henzel without formalities…. Leaving that aside, are these spiders a kind of hara.s.sment?”

I instantly averted my gaze.

“Are you alright?” As Henzel sneaked a look at me with a worrisome expression but I replied him with a grin.

“…They are cute spiders indeed.”

But Henzel’s expression did not change. He then took a spider which climbed on my hand onto his own.

“True that they are cute spiders… But when something happens please rely on Schneider, will you?”

“….Thank you for worrying about me Henzel.” I then expressed my grat.i.tude, Henzel finally returned back a smile.

That night, Schneider visited me when I had just finished my preparations to sleep.

“Rhonya… Is it true that you hara.s.sed Misano-jou?” I was shocked towards his question.

Speaking of which, there was a scene as this in the novel as well. Where Misano-jou herself confessed to Schneider about how Rhonya hara.s.sed her and so she counterattacked.

The shocked Schneider then approached Rhonya to ascertain her intentions and promised Misano-jou to stop her.

“…Schneider… I believe you would know that I did not hara.s.s anyone?”

Schneider was not content with my answer and spoke up.

“It may be true that recently I had become close to Misano-jou, but I was definitely not planning to cheat on you.”

“…I understand that…but I did not hara.s.s Misano-jou because I was jealous of her.”

“But, you… Previously, you have ever made a servant give up his job..” I was shocked towards Schneider continuous denial. The servant he talked of was the young lad whom previously stopped working in the main house, but had then been employed to work for my grandfather. Even though I was not responsible for that incident…

“…He, he felt liable hence he gave up his work…”

“……” Schneider looked hesitant. He seems to be suspecting me. That I am someone who would treat others badly over small matters.

Even though we had long spent our times together, even though he looks at me more than anyone else… But he now hold suspicion in his heart towards me.

“…Please believe me, Schneider.” As I embrace his cheek with both my hands and prayed for it.

“It’s a misunderstanding from Misano-jou’s perspective, I did not hara.s.s her. I beg you please believe in me.”

Then Schneider loosened the strength in his shoulders and smiled at me.
“I believe in you, Rhonya.”

–But I knew. Even though you said you believe in me now, your heart will turn away from me.

I felt my first love’s vividness started to fade. The hope in heart soon turned into despair.

Now alone in my room, I flipped over the sandgla.s.s presented to me by my grandfather. The green sands were s.h.i.+ning like bright jewels. I stare upon the falling sands and dazed off.

In that instant, I thought of my figure working in a snugly café.

…Let me begin my preparations to accept my fate.

The happiness of my first love, it’s time to let you go. When I was 9, I thought to this sandgla.s.s of how long 7 years was, but thinking back now it pa.s.sed in a blink of an eye.

Eventually all the beautiful sand fell completely down. I left the sandgla.s.s unflipped, closed the lights and shut my eyelids.

2 The end of the role

The next day after I realized the end of my happy days are nearing, I went out to visit my grandfather whose mansion is at the corner of the capital, living there in peace.

“Grandfather Ronard.”

“Rhonya, I’m glad you came”

As I jump to his embrace, he gently held me with both hands, then guided me towards a comfortable living room and he then sat on a chair. As I sat by his feet, I started telling him of the recent happenings. Of how I learned new magic, a book I read recently which was interesting and about the spirits I contracted with.

In this world, spirits, sacred beasts, mythical beasts as well as fairies exist. They listen to the ‘request’ of humans and aid their powers to fulfill them. The contents of the requests varies.

Being contracted with them enables humans to request their aid, and vice versa. Since making a contract is not particularly difficult, many n.o.bles have been in a contract at least once.

In addition, one of the tests held in San Crisante Academy since long before requires the student to at least make a contract with spirits once. Once signed, they spirits would be able to request aid anytime needed. Some busy n.o.bles would find it difficult to fulfill all of their requests and most of them would annul the contract after the test. But I did not annul my contract.

Fortunately, my contracted spirit did not request much of me, and so we have a fairly rapport relations.h.i.+p.

“…Rhonya. Do you need a favor from me?” Gently, grandfather began to talk. With a gentle smile in his face, he tilted his head to prompt me.

…Looks like my intentions were all exposed in front of grandfather. I then slowly replied.

“…What if… My engagement with Schneider is annulled… And I am expelled from the Gavizera house?” Putting my hand on his knee, I said so as cheerful as I could be.

“Are you and Scheinder-kun… not doing well together?” Grandfather with a worried expression, I replied him slowly with a nod.

“….Maybe, this won’t go well.” Even while I did not intend to, there was no other answer I could best provide.

“Even though.. I thought I could do my best if Schneider’s with me… But, I’m sure this won’t end well…”

I could do my best even at San Crisante Academy due to Schneider’s recognition.

Because of Schneider’s praises, I could continue looking forward.

Because of Schneider’s support, I could still bear with all of this until now.

But…

“…Please help me, Grandfather. I want a life far away from here and live in peace.” Grandfather, patting my head while lost in thought eventually nodded in response.

“Understood, Rhonya.” His wrinkled hands gently extended to my cheek.

Aaah, what a relief. Grandfather listened to my plea. The only one family who truly loves me, the only family I could truly love.

“Thank you, Grandfather…. I love you so much…”

Afterwards, with the aid of Grandfather’s connection, a suitable house was found. A wonderful house in a city at the border of the country. With the savings I kept over the years, I then handed them over to Grandfather and purchased the house under his name.

While my student life continues, I started to learn more for the café. Henzel guided me in business management while I subtly asked him, finding sources for the ingredients needed, as well as studying on methods of brewing coffee and cooking once again.

“Recently, you keep making various kinds of sweets! They’re all delicious!”

“Thank you, Henzel”

The contents of Henzel’s cheeks was a croissant filled with melon syrup, taken together with a cup of latte with less sugar.

Recently, the only visitor of the tea party s.p.a.ce is only Henzel. Ever since the incident of the falling spiders, the cohort n.o.ble daughters were busy dealing with hara.s.sing back Minosjou. Even though I tried to stop them, it didn’t work well. Not only so, Scheinder too have been avoiding being near me, but I acted as if I didn’t realize.

Eventually, even Henzel stopped visiting the tea party s.p.a.ce. Due to him helping his family business, he had to take a break for some time. My other friend too was on break. Finally, I became alone.

There was nowhere I could belong to in this Academy, that was what I realized as I enjoyed a cup of tea alone. During this time, Schneider was always together with Minosjou, his purpose was to stop the groupie n.o.ble daughters from hara.s.sing Minosjou. The said Minosjou looked quite pleased, as well Schneider who was smiling happily from his heart. It was then I realized. That even though I had liked Schneider, but I did not show favor for him like Minosjou did. All I could was be pampered by his protection.

While thinking of the future, I started preparing to leave his side. A love reared by only one side would not grow and stand firm. Only when both parties support each other in rearing that love would it stay strong. While I was supported by Schneider, I did not try to support him. Then I decided by myself about the future and leave him for my own convenience…. It’s the end of being with him.

While I never once even thought of attacking Minosjou, but that was not so in her perspective. Within her, she believed as so, as the flow of the story.

Whilst capturing the n.o.ble daughters who hara.s.sed her back after the spider incident, she tortured them mercilessly. Of course, doing so while without the other students realizing this. The torture Minosjou did was not to cause physical pain, but to continuously make them see hallucinations of being badly done in by horrendous insects. The n.o.ble daughters cried and scream for mercy, but Minosjou did not gave them mercy until they gave her the answer she wanted.

As a result, the n.o.ble daughters could only give in. That they were ordered by me to hara.s.s Minosjou. Of course that was not the fact, but there was n.o.body there that could point it out.

And so the flow of happenings followed accordingly to the story and conveniently into Minosjou’s point of view.

Thus came the fated day.

I was called out by Minosjou and arrived at the hall of the Academy. As the hall is also used as a place for gatherings, it was vast.

I was standing on the platform on the first floor, and in front of my eyes were Minosjou and the groupie n.o.ble daughters following around me, as well as Schneider. Amidst the vast s.p.a.ce in front of the platform stood many other students who gathered, the second floor was full of students as well.

My conviction event is now beginning.

“Rhonya Gavizerjou. Your evil acts shall now be exposed!” said Minosjou with a strong declaration.

Wearing a deep red dress, her sharp gaze was looking towards me.

Red, the color denoting the symbol of victory. It’s very likely that she believes of her victory.

My evil acts being exposed by her would mean that I will be expelled from the Academy, as well as from the n.o.ble’s society. Even if that was a false accusation.

My brother and family will no doubt cut off ties with me, such is the house of the Gavizera.

Though I believe Minosjou did not think to such lengths, Schneider would have known of that…

While Minosjou was blaming me for all I did, I stared deeply towards Schneider who was staring back at me with disgust in his eyes. A gaze of scorn, and disappointment. A gaze which he never gave me, which made my heart start to creak.

“…. I know not of such acts. These are false accusations.” The words which came out of my mouth were lines in the novel. Minosjou then faced towards the groupie.

“I even have proof. Isn’t that right?”

“Y-yes.. All was according to Rhonysama’s orders.”

“We could not have oppose the daughter of the Gavizera Count.” The groupie spoke out in turns.

Putting the blame on me would lighten their punishment. And they made sure of their gazes to not meet my eyes.

Although I felt like running, but I continued to bear with everything. To begin with, I did not trust them entirely, amidst us was not a relations.h.i.+p of trust or loyalty.

“Rhonyjou. Promptly admit that you have crazed due to jealousy for love.” Ascertain of her victory, Minosjou worked up a smile. In her eyes, I am nothing but evil and she is justice.

“…… You have disappointed me, Rhonya.” Schneider, moving one step forward and continued talking.

“I cannot marry you. This engagement shall now be annulled!” The last words he spoke to me.

In front of Schneider’s eyes, a piece of paper embraced by golden light appeared. In an instant, the same paper appeared in front of my eyes. A magic contract signed by using magic. The doc.u.ment concerning me and Schneider’s engagement.

With a flick of Schneider’s hand, the two papers were torn into two. The torn papers then scattered and disappeared along the golden light. I silently looked towards Schneider.

If I said ‘please believe in me’ right here and now, what would he reply me with. Even when we had been together for so long, and he who was the closest to me, and he who I said to believe in me.

But instead, he believed in Minosjou’s words, and not mine.

A development according the novel. Such is fate.

My first love, now dyed in despair.

The students in the hall started booing me. Amidst their boos, Minosjou jumped to Schneider’s embrace, while Schneider held her in his.

“Schneider!”

“Minosa”

The students applause in blessings for the two. Schneider, holding Minosa in his embrace, stared at me. From now on, he would be the one to protect Minosjou as he did for me.

Both of them would definitely become a good couple, for they are tied by fate.

“….Please be happy together.” As a goodbye, I said so.

Schneider who had always pampered me. Hating him who had always support me was impossible. Along with all my grat.i.tude until now, I give my blessings to both of them from my heart. But it seems Schneider was unable to hear my words.

His grim expression until just now suddenly changed into another expression…

But before I could observe that change, I had walked away.

Eventually I distanced myself from the hall full of applause and said my goodbyes with my first love.

The time when Schneider said to rear love together, the moment where hope s.h.i.+ned on me.

Our first kiss.

Being close with each other, being pampered, and the first love who supported me.

Goodbye.

Without him, I wouldn’t have been able to bear with my life. The busy days where I could not take a breather, he was the only one who could grant me peace and rest.

My parents and brother who never approved of me, the days where I could hardly breathe, the life of being the daughter of the Gavizera Count… I could finally be free of them.

My steps which could be heard by the hallway of the Academy eventually became faster, where I eventually ran out of the Academy.

Freedom!!

Getting to hyped up, I jumped down the lengthy stairs by the front door of the Academy.

But all is well, since there is someone below who would catch me.

“Rho-Rhonysama!? Are you injured in any way!?”

“Thank you for coming to receive me, Ramo!”

The young servant who had previously gave up his job, but now is working with Grandfather as his guard.

His name is Ramo, a young lad with dark navy hair and almond shaped eyes. Even with a slender body, he is able to perfectly catch me from falling. Ramo then brought me to the carriage while carrying me.

By the time Minosjou had called me out, the ‘ending’ was in plain sight. So I asked Grandfather to come and pick me up, with my baggage already packed in the carriage. Within the carriage, I could not stop grinning. For I have no more need to go back to the Academy.

The only regret I have would be to not be able to bid my farewell to my 2 dear friends, they were not present. Instead, I should send them a message by magic. That I have left far away from the Academy, that my heart felt in peace and am now excited to fulfill my dreams.

….That’s right, from now on.. My desire for a laid back life begins!!

HYAHOI!!

Unable to contain my happiness, I abruptly raised both my hands. And fell onto the seat due to the impact from the shaking of the carriage.

I quickly regained my composure, amend my posture and let out a cough.

Let’s calm down…

I should stop dancing while shouting hyahoi..

While happily kicking my legs in the carriage, pull over my bag closer and took out the sandgla.s.s within it. As I slowly flip it, the s.h.i.+ny green sands fall down.

It was a tough life.

It was full of tough moments with little amount of happiness.

But from now on, I want to live a laid back life. To fill my life with happy times, and live a fulfilling life.

Here I go towards fulfilling that dream!
