When the message of his son's demise arrived via communications runes from the Silverwing Auction House to Ross Moriarty's father Mycroft, he smashed his fist against a wall while screaming with rage at the news. He didn't know what the reaction was going to be at the headquarters of the G.o.d of Justice so before he could be detained him, he left towards the town of Naas. Mycroft knew what his son was doing in the town and didn't see anything wrong with it, it was following the teachings of their faction to the letter, punishment to Evil wors.h.i.+pers. It was the first command and his son was carrying the task for Lord Odos masterfully.
The problem was that he got caught and the second command was to maintain anonymity while carrying the will of their Lord. It was a mess now and he knew there was no way he would be able to take revenge for his son since everything was made public.
BUT IT WAS HIS ONLY SON!! He had to track the killers down and take revenge before the higher ups were to be informed so he needed to quickly get back home.
Mycroft was a Third Tier Paladin also known as a Knight and as soon as he grab the Aerial mount to go to Naas the message from Lord Odos to lay low came in but it was too late, Now they had to place an order to bring back Mycroft to the headquarters at all cost, if he refused the orders were to delete him.
Three people were gathered for the task and one was the user of the Sword of Justice a piece of the lord protector set used by the G.o.d of Justice avatar a level 35 Knight code name Omega. There was a Rogue code name Lightfoot and to round up the team a third tier priest by the code name Baron. The team caliber was a testament of how Furious their G.o.d was at their screw up and the necessity of stopping Mycroft before he made matters worse.
While the G.o.d of justice group was handling their internal problems, in a mansion 3 streets from the burned down house of the Moriarty, the coercer was having tea with a 50 year old woman of the Erudite Race, she had a white robe and there was not a speck of dust or a single wrinkle in it. If Rahz and the others saw her, they would immediately recognized her for they had said "hi" to her every day for their entire trip to Naas. It was the owner of the Fair Lady, Ahlam.
"Thank you for doing me this Favor, we should be getting ready for war not stuck on petty personal gain. Here is the item I promised, please check"
The coercer took a look at the orb on the table and said while feeding it some of his energy "How could I doubt the words of Grandmaster Ahlam, I am sure this enchantment is everything is suppose to be and more"
"Please see yourself out , I have to get back in a hurry or by the time I get back to the restaurant nothing would be ready for the clients"
"I never understood why the great Ahlam would leave the hidden Erudite city and come to the secular world and then disappear from the spotlight to run an Inn on a commercial town"
Ahlam didn't even bother to answer before casting an invisibility spell and disappearing from the coercer's sight.
The coercer stood in the patio of Ahlam's house with a smile on his face, "I guess is time for me to help the kids a little more before the G.o.d of Justice church spins the news and portrait them as villains". It was truly a race against time as the influence of the Silverwing Auction Houses were ma.s.sive on the East side of the realm and he hope to spread as much of the truth to the surrounded towns before the other rumors started.
Mycroft arrived at the town three days later to find his house in ruins but n.o.body would tell him where the a.s.sailants went to, he was the father of a child killer and n.o.body in Naas would help him specially when there were a lot more people in charge of running the city. With no other leads, Mycroft went to the slums of Naas where a small house stood, it look more like a shed than a house where an old woman sat on a wooden chair on the left side of the door.
A very creepy smile appeared on the woman " For somebody that hates this side of Elysian to pay us a visit, your leash should be pretty tight".
"I have a contract"
"Of course you do, your son was killed and your house was demolished, it is only natural. Unfortunately Death's Embrace would have to decline but don't worry we also declined the contract to kill you, we are staying out of it".
The woman looked down the street where a blond guy carrying a beautiful 2h Sword that seemed to absorb any rays of sunlight available to it walked their way.
"It is time to go Mycroft, Lord Odos orders are absolute"
"Lord Odos sent an Oracle?"
"Your son cost him precious resources, I am surprised he still wants to keep you but if you don't go back right now I am authorized to administer the appropriate punishment".
Sigh…
Mycroft left with the group dejectedly but not before putting a bounty on the group at the mercenary guild:
WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE
The Shadow Serpent 100,000 Gold coins
The Elf Witch 100,000 Gold Coins
The Flame Demon 100,000 Gold Coins
The Behemoth 200,000 Gold Coins
The Bounty spread like wildfire to all the towns and in less than a week it had reach the two major cities. Mercenaries across the eastside of the realm prepare their weapons and set themselves for the hunt.
Rahz and the others were unaware of what was happening while they bunked down on a cave 300 miles north of Naas. The team was trying to cheer Rahz up that had loss even more of his innocence and trust in people. First was greed when he lost his father, and now it was Envy that took away little Emma. He wanted to look for every member that followed the G.o.d of Justice and erased them from the world but then the face of his old friend Bhirl appeared in his mind and he remembered that he too had picked to follow Odos.
It was all very confusing to him but his only comfort was the fact he was able to kill The Blood Harvester and his Berserker state had level up and provided him with more amazing skills. This state was a staple of the Berserker cla.s.s but it usually just boost Health regeneration, speed and strength however with Rahz it gave him a 6 sense and improved his ability to use his skills. He was like a beast when it was at his deadliest but the problem was the imbalance of emotions after the used of the Combat Art. There were times of uncontrolled Rage where he would just go off for no reason at all but thanks to Elunes soothing medication the periods were a lot smaller and farther apart from each other.
It took Rahz about a week to get back to his normal state of mind and finally the team was able to start moving toward the abyss once more. Rahz had reached the top of the level available to him thanks to the G.o.d of War and it was time to double time it. According to Igor, Once they went through the portal into the abyss they would still had to travel for another year before reaching the place where the temple was located.
The group was no stranger to living in the forest but they had to start looking for a road to travel. They were many close calls as the patriarchs of many beast herds were starting to appeared in levels outside of the team's comfort zone. After two months of constant traveling they finally saw people on the road and they knew they were close to a town.
The closer they were to the town, the bigger the crowds and the more they realized they were being stare at by some of them. Seeing the odd atmosphere Elune put her most dazzling smile and approached a young child that was pointing at them and saying "the Demon Squad... mommy look is the Demon Squad…"
"h.e.l.lo there!! My name is Elune what's yours?"
"Aren't you the Elf Witch?"
The Veins on her forehead started pulsating at being called a witch but then the Mother of the child came over and apologized before taking the child away without uttering another word. It was mind boggling but she didn't lose her cool and went over to somebody else and somebody else until finally somebody was able to shed some light on what was going on.
Legends of their group that now was called the Demon Squad had spread far and wide and some were good and some were bad but the only thing that was true was their bounty, it still stood 2 months after it was placed.
The town they were heading to was a smaller town than Naas and it was more like Willowdale. In order to 'blend in' the team divided themselves into two groups and they went inside the town a day apart from each other. Luckily they had money, otherwise they would not had found a place where Ridd.i.c.k could fit into. The team didn't stay long and moved the moment they managed to acquire a map of the next couple of towns from the adventurer guild.
