Chapter 400 Deity Descends to Earth

The ice in the cave had yet melted. The waterfall was still not flowing.

Ning Tao was standing by the edge of the waterfall. Looking down, he immediately saw a large bonfire by the foot of the waterfall. The people of the Pointe-Noire tribe were gathered around it, yelling. Those voices were strange, and so was the melody. It sounded like a form of prayer.

A group of tribal warriors were standing by the foot of the waterfall, lifting high their a.s.sault rifles and old rifles from the World War 2 era. The gunshots from earlier on were from their guns.

Ning Tao had turned off his tactical flashlight when he came out. He could see the people below but they could not see him. The entrance of the cave was, after all, a few hundred meters above the ground and it was still during the night.

Suddenly, a group of people was carrying a wooden log as they walked towards the bonfire.

Ning Tao activated his state of seeing and his sense of sight was immediately heightened. Each of the people below had become “lanterns” of many different colors. The sky did not brighten at all, but the scene below was as bright as day to him.

With that, Ning Tao was instantly shocked.

There was a person tied to the wooden log which was being brought towards the bonfire. It was n.o.body else but Fan Huaying.

Once he saw Fan Huaying, Ning Tao immediately understood what had happened. Fan Huaying led him, Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao to this place, and before he could treat Chieftain Male Eagle's illness, the Rainbow Waterfall which was blessed by the sun G.o.d had stopped flowing. On the other hand, the guards watching after him, Qing Zhui, and Jiang Hao, had been knocked unconscious. It made sense for Chieftain Male Eagle to blame this series of events on Fan Huaying.

Another tribal warrior had fired shots into the sky, then people were yelling in French-mixed Congolese.

The two conversed in French. They were very far so Ning Tao could not hear anything. Even if he did, he could not hear them clearly. Just when Chieftain Male Eagle commanded his men to put Fan Huaying above the bonfire, Ning Tao stopped watching and took his Mauser pistol out of his small medicine chest.

The trigger was pulled and a bullet shot towards the surface of the ice, breaking the hard ice which sealed the entrance of the cave. Under the intense impact, the water instantly gushed out.

However, the hard ice inside the cave was completely unaffected. Even if he had used up all his bullets, it would still be useless.

Ning Tao did not intend to make the waterfall recover its original state with such a method. He merely wanted to attract the attention of the people below.

And as expected, the noise of gunshot and water had attracted the attention of the people of the Pointe-Noire tribe, but they still could not see Ning Tao.

Ning Tao quickly turned on the tactical flashlight and shone it on himself.

Even though his face could not be seen clearly, his body could at least be seen.

Ning Tao kept the tactical flashlight and took out the herb-collecting rope, holding it in his hand. He then jumped down towards the pond below the cliff.

Below the cliff, there was a cry.

To jump from hundreds of meters, how was it different from committing suicide?

Yet, when hundreds of Pointe-Noire tribe natives were expecting Ning Tao to crash into the ground in a few seconds, a rapidly descending Ning Tao waved his hand, and the herb-collecting rope flew from his hand, stabbing right into a tofu-like stone wall. In that instant, his body dangled and his directly descending body diverted course, swiftly launched towards the bonfire by the sh.o.r.e.

The herb-collecting rope was plucked out of the wall and its length returned to normal.

In an instant, Ning Tao swooped above Chieftain Male Eagle's head. He stepped in mid-air and his body oddly came to a halt, then gently landing beside Chieftain Male Eagle.

Jaws dropped.

Chieftain Male Eagle stared at Ning Tao wide-eyed. His pair of eyeb.a.l.l.s were almost protruding from the eye sockets.

Ning Tao said, “Release my friend. Now.”

Bang!

A bullet shot right through Ning Tao's back.

Ning Tao turned around and saw a tribal warrior holding a Type 38 rifle, s.h.i.+vering as he stared at Ning Tao. He pointed at his gun and said something but because of anxiety, his voice was trembling.

Ning Tao reached for his waist and a Mauser pistol appeared in his hand. In the next second, the pistol was pressed on the head of the chieftain.

“No, no, no… it was an accident.” Chieftain Male Eagle instantly fl.u.s.tered. “Don't… don't shoot.”

He was someone who had jumped down from a cliff a hundred meters high and got shot without batting an eyelid. He feared n.o.body!

Ning Tao said coldly, “Get your people to put the guns down. And my friend. If he is still tied to the log in the next minute, then I'll shoot you in the head.”

Chieftain Male Eagle yelled. “What are you waiting for? Put your guns down! Put my friend down!”

All the warriors put their guns on the ground. There were also people who had gone to release Fan Huaying from the log.

A Pointe-Noire lady walked towards Ning Tao and Fan Huaying, looking at Ning Tao then to Fan Huaying. Finally, she reached her hand toward Fan Huaying.

Fan Huaying was stunned, at a loss of what to do. A few minutes ago, he thought he was going to die, but now, a lady who had wanted to burn him to death had invited him to dance. He could not adapt to this abrupt change.

Ning Tao said with a smile, “Brother Huaying, go. Don't turn down her good intention. You've been in shock. You need to relax.”

Fan Huaying shrugged and looked at the Pointe-Noire lady carefully. He noticed that she was a beauty with plump lips and a firm b.u.m, and readily reached his hand out in return.

The Pointe-Noire lady took Fan Huaying's hand and walked into the dancing group.

Ning Tao stood there for a while without anyone inviting him to dance. However, Chieftain Male Eagle was staring at him with an odd gaze.

Ning Tao approached the chieftain.

Yet Chieftain Male Eagle backed off, appearing to be very anxious.

Ning Tao said, “Why are you so anxious? Remember to prepare my medicinal herbs. I'll treat you tomorrow.”

Chieftain Male Eagle then heaved a sigh of relief. “I will definitely prepare the medicinal herbs.”

Ning Tao pa.s.sed by Chieftain Male Eagle, coming to a stone hut. He sat on a random rock and watched Fan Huaying dancing.

A few minutes later, that Pointe-Noire lady pulled Fan Huaying toward a forest…
