Chapter 31 - Determining the Victor

Seeing more and more students come and surround his courtyard, Wu s.h.i.+yue's terrible mood became even worse. He felt terrible because someone had interrupted his cultivation to challenge him and that that person was the good-for-nothing girl from the Lin family. 

"Stop wasting time, let's start!" Lin Haoxue said indifferently while thinking that Wu s.h.i.+yue talked too much. Now there were many students who had come to watch this show, and they laughed when they heard what Lin Haoxue said to him. 

This situation made Wu s.h.i.+yue even angrier. 

"You're just spouting nonsense in the heat of the moment, but I'll let you know that you were nothing in front of the absolute strength." 

Wu s.h.i.+yue moved his left leg back for a step, faintly bent his knees, and pushed his hands forwards. A dense gold elemental profound power emerged from his palms. Gradually, his profound power formed into an illusory golden sword in front of him. The sword was about three meters long and it contained a very dense profound power and aura. 

"Profound power materialization, he definitely deserves to be called one of the strongest Profound Ancestor realm cultivators of our academy."

"That's right. There is no way the dignity of the superior cla.s.s could be so easily challenged!" 

"Lin Haoxue is going to be beaten down."

"Meng Rong, what do you think?" A handsome young man asked a girl in a purple skirt, and when he looked at this girl, he was filled with admiration. 
"I think that this little junior is kind of remarkable." The girl in a purple skirt was very pretty as well, and what made her even more eye-catching was her purple eyes. When she looked at Lin Haoxue, she was a little shocked and excited, but she also looked thoughtful. 

"I wouldn't be so positive. She is merely a Profound Grand Master, and she probably has no idea of the gap between the Profound Grand Master realm and the Profound Ancestor realm." The young man in a blue s.h.i.+rt didn't seem to think that Lin Haoxue had much of a chance of winning. 

"Be careful when looking down on others, be careful it doesn't come to bite you back. After saying this, the girl in the purple skirt stopped talking and focused on watching the fight between Lin Haoxue and Wu s.h.i.+yue. 
"So this was the strength of a Profound Ancestor?" 

Lin Haoxue raised her head and looked at the golden sword which had been formed from dense profound power. She could feel the dense pressure it gave off, therefore she turned extremely serious. This was the first time she had a direct fight with a strong Profound Ancestor realm cultivator. Even though she had seen Profound Ancestors before, at the Demon Beast Forest, he had been finished by Shen Molian in a flash. 

So she had no choice but to say that this Wu s.h.i.+yue really was quite strong. He possessed the very rare gold elemental profound veins. Normally, the gold elemental was used as a supporting profound power to help boost other's power, but he had turned it into a powerful weapon. 

Normally, people who were at the Profound Grand Master realm would definitely lose their will to fight under such pressure. However, Lin Haoxue wasn't a normal Profound Grand Master because she had quite a bit of hidden strength. 

She took a deep breath, stepped back a few steps to avoid the pressure from his golden sword, and slowly raised her right hand. She turned her palm towards the point of the sword. Suddenly, a flame burst out from the middle of her palm. This was very different from how the golden sword had been slowly formed by Wu s.h.i.+yue. The creation of her flame was almost instantaneous. Even though the purity of it wasn't as good as Wu s.h.i.+yue's, she had the advantage as it was quite big. 

The golden sword and the flame slammed into each other. 

Generally speaking, under this kind of situation where there was a big gap between cultivators, those of the lower realm didn't dare confront those at the higher realm directly. Normally the lower realm cultivators could only depend on their speed to wander around so that they could find an opening. But none of the students present had never seen nor heard of someone like Lin Haoxue who dared to confront a higher realm expert directly. 

But, compared to other profound cultivators, Lin Haoxue had two advantages. The first was that fire elemental profound power restrained gold elemental profound power. Secondly, Lin Haoxue's willforce was way stronger than the average cultivator, and therefore, she could skillfully control her flame.

As a strong profound cultivator at the Profound Grand Master realm, she could be proud that she was able to turn this situation into a deadlock while facing a Late-stage Profound Ancestor. 

The students who were watching were all surprised, and Wu s.h.i.+yue's surprise had reached its peak. However, now he was stuck in place by this mere Profound Grand Master realm cultivator, how could such a thing not surprise him? At the same time, he was frustrated and utterly taken aback as he could feel that the quality of Lin Haoxue fire elemental profound power exceeded Cui Yang's.

Under the pressure of the violet flame, the top of the golden sword had started to melt. Even though this process was abnormally slow, everybody knew that Lin Haoxue had the upper hand. 

At this point, Wu s.h.i.+yue was unable to stop halfway through and all he could do was stare fiercely at Lin Haoxue wanting to kill her.

Since when did the Lin family have someone like her? Lin Haoxue definitely couldn't be alive. 

Thinking of this, Wu s.h.i.+yue made up his mind and cruelly decided to take a risk out of desperation.

"Blood-sacrifice golden sword."

Wu s.h.i.+yue roared and bit the tip of his tongue. A whole mouthful of blood sprayed out toward his fading golden sword. Suddenly, the golden sword changed color as if it had been splashed with gasoline. This golden sword turned blood-red and it now had a very b.l.o.o.d.y smell. This sword which suddenly had its power boosted stabbed straight at Lin Haoxue. 

"I can't believe that Wu s.h.i.+yue is using this method! He must have been pressured too hard." The blue-s.h.i.+rted man saw Wu s.h.i.+yue's behavior and shook his head, "Now Lin Haoxue is definitely going to die."

As someone who had fought Wu s.h.i.+yue before, this man in a blue s.h.i.+rt knew how powerful this attack was. At that time, were it not for his was profound cultivation base and the extreme speed of his wind elemental profound power that he used to suppress Wu s.h.i.+yue, he would probably have been defeated.

Lin Haoxue rapidly stepped back for a few steps to avoid the direct attack of the golden sword. However, her fire was being cut down and weakening almost causing it to go out entirely. At his moment, Wu s.h.i.+yue seized the upper hand.

A slim, faint dark ray emerged from Lin Haoxue's palm and blended into the flame. Gradually, it neared the opponent's golden sword and slowly absorbed the blood on the sword.

Soon his golden sword was consumed under the blaze of the fire. 
After his golden sword was defeated, Wu s.h.i.+yue finally couldn't take it anymore and fell to the ground in a coma. 

Taking back her terrifying violet flame, Lin Haoxue stood at the spot she had been when the fight started. Without a doubt, Lin Haoxue had won. Lin Haoxue who was at the Profound Grand Master realm defeated Wu s.h.i.+yue who was at the Profound Ancestor realm! 

How ridiculous! But it really happened.

"Let's go." The man in a blue s.h.i.+rt talked to the girl in a purple skirt. Just when the girl in purple skirt about to go with him, he was stopped by a fifteen year old girl in a black skirt. 

The girl in a black skirt was very young, yet she already had a good body shape and white skin. However, she had a very cold look. Therefore, when she used her eyes to stare at him, unexpectedly, he felt a chill run up his spine. 

"Do you want something?"

"So you're senior Bai Li? I would like to borrow your courtyard." The girl in a black skirt was exactly Shen Molian, and she had easily recognized her target in the crowd. 

"So you're saying you want to challenge me?" Bai Liyi looked at Shen Molian, frowned, and said, "What is wrong with everyone today? Our junior sisters seem to have much more nerve today."

"That's right." Shen Molian replied tersely.
