Chapter 34 - Dark Willforce

As time went by, Lin Haoxue stopped looking around and started playing with her fingers since she was bored. Finally, the door to the auction house's lobby opened and an eighteen or nineteen year old girl walked out. This young girl wasn't as beautiful as Shen Molian, but she was as beautiful as Qiao Mengrong, and she had a sharp and clear voice.

"Today, all of you who want to get an incantation imbued go home. Kids who want to test your willforce stay."

When she finished talking, those who had been waiting started whining akin to buzzing flies. The young girl didn't seem to care about their complaints, she just stood there with an indifferent expression on her face.

Eventually, those who carried their weapons and were waiting for an incantation left with their heads hanging dispiritedly. Even though they weren't happy about it Master Liao was a third Nascent realm incantation master, the only third Nascent realm incantation master in the entire Wuhuan Empire. Even if they weren't happy about it, what could they do?

That day laughter was heard and tears were shed in different households. Compared to those who carried their weapons and waited for incantations, these children who came to test their willforce were extremely happy. One could tell their faces were full of joy.

Lin Haoxue thought that she had good luck as well. By a lucky coincidence, she would be able to take this rarely seen willforce test.

"Kids, follow me and all the parents wait outside." The young girl spoke again after seeing the other cultivators slowly leaving one after another. Then, she turned around and entered the auction house.

Those parents in line didn't dare to be unhappy, they just kept reminding their kids to be careful and so on. Then the kids entered the auction house in an orderly fas.h.i.+on.

The Jiyu auction house was ma.s.sive. The first floor had a lobby and a back room, and those kids were led to the back room.

The back room was very wide, and even though there were more than a thousand kids standing there, one still felt as if it were absolutely empty.

In the center of the back room, there was a young man with brown hair. His hair was curly, his skin white, and his were eyes deep. At this moment, he frowned hard as if he had a great worry on his mind. However, this didn't decrease his handsomeness or temperament.

In front of the young man was a black cube, and on top of it was a crystal ball. The crystal ball was transparent, but if one got closer it looked as if there was something flowing in it like water.

The children were all looking around in different directions. The young girl stopped next to this brown hair young man, and her indifferent att.i.tude turned into a charmingly laugh as she said, "Brother, I brought all these kids here; don't forget what you promised me!"

"Alright, I understand." The young man smiled and said, "Hopefully we'll get lucky today."

"I hope so too." The young girl said as her smile faded and was replaced with a depressed look.

"Sister, where is Master Liao?" A ten year old little boy asked the young girl impatiently.

"Master Liao? Ha, this is your Master Liao." The young girl pointed at the brown-haired young man. She smiled again, and said "Master, Master... Hum calling you master seemed to age you, brother."

The young man laughed as well and deep inside he was touched. He had such a burden, yet it has always been his sister keeping him company. Sometimes she made fun of him to make him happier, so he wouldn't feel so exhausted.

So it turned out that Master Liao was a young man! Then, that crystal ball should be the tool which test one's willforce was what every kid including Lin Haoxue thought.

At this time, that brown hair young man turned his head and looked at those kids. He pointed at the small bench next to the crystal ball, and said tenderly, "Later when you guys test your willforce, sit on this bench, close your eyes, and don't be afraid."

Let's start at the front of the line so you come first." Master Liao said to the first boy in line.

The first kid in line was probably one year older than Lin Haoxue since he looked a little terrified while staring at the crystal ball. After a second, he looked at Master Liao in a daze.

"It's alright, just sit here." Master Liao comforted him.

This little boy finally mustered up some courage and sat down on the small bench.

Master Liao clicked something on the black cube and soon a ray of light came out which covered the little boy.

After the little boy was completely covered the crystal ball started to flash little by little. Then, that originally transparent crystal ball gradually showed a light red color.

What a shame that the color was too faint.

The young Master Liao shook his head and said, "Red-colored willforce, minute amount, unqualified. Next."
Hearing he was unqualified, the little boy sadly left.

The second kid in line was a little girl of around ten years old. However, she obviously looked a lot more calm than the first boy. She walked forward and sat down on the small bench with a serious expression.

Master Liao again activate the crystal ball. This time, the crystal ball changed color in a flash and the entire crystal ball turned red.
"Hum, willforce is surprisingly adequate, however, its level is too weak. Not qualified either." The young girl was at first astonished then shook her head.

The little girl left depressed when she heard she was unqualified.

Seeing that two of them had been tested without any problems, the rest were no longer scared. As these children stepped up to be tested one after another, even though Master Liao didn't say anything, the depression in his eyes became more intense.

Most of these children had red-colored willforce. Even though there was a nine year old boy with orange-colored willforce, but the amount he had was just too little. He only had a trace of orange-colored willforce. However, this was within expectations as there were not many with sufficient willforce who could become incantation masters. If such willforce users could be so easily found, incantation masters won't be that hard to come by.

Soon it was the turn of the boy who was in front of Lin Haoxue. This little boy should be the same age as Lin Haoxue. He had been silent the whole time and hadn't talked to anyone since the beginning. Now that it was his turn, he went forward calmly.

When the boy was testing his willforce, the crystal ball immediately turned yellow.  It shone a very intense yellow which almost brighten up the entire back room.

"Unexpectedly, I found one!" That young girl shouted out in surprise with a joyful expression on her face. She then said, "He's mine now, you can't fight me over this brother."

"He isn't bad. It's pretty rare to see someone whose willforce quality and quant.i.ty are both sufficient." The brown-haired young man nodded his head. Even though he looked a little unwilling to let go of this boy, he still said to the girl, "Alright, I'll not fight over him then."

"Thank you brother. I know you're the best!" That young girl thanked him while grinning. Then she said to the boy, "You, follow me."

"Sister, I'm here to test my willforce and learn incantation techniques. If my willforce is good enough, I will pay my respect to my new master and learn from them." The boy calmly looked at the young girl. Those words he said obviously meant that if she wanted to take him away, she would have to prove her ability. This little boy was very young but his mind was already mature. Not only Master Liao, but also the young girl was surprised to hear this. Behind him, Lin Haoxue was surprised as well.

"Of course, Of course. I'm an incantation master as well. Let me show you." The young girl responded and moved her fingers a bit. Soon, hundreds of incantation seals emerged and merged with the air around the boy. The boy immediately felt the spirit power in the air around him had become denser. A simple Spirit Gathering Incantation array was formed in a flash.

"Now, I'm sure you're convinced. Follow me." The girl seemed to be in a better mood.

"Alright, I'll follow you then." The boy looked serious, and the two of them left the lobby with the girl leading the way.

Master Liao shook his head slightly as he had never been able to do anything about his beloved younger sister. He then spoke with an even lower and seemingly more depressed voice, "Next."

Next up was Lin Haoxue. Finally, it was her turn.

Lin Haoxue walked forward and sat down on the small bench. She closed her eyes and waited for the test. At this time Master Liao had lost any hope of finding others, therefore he didn't do anything except start the crystal ball.

Boom.

Suddenly, the crystal ball changed. In a flash, the crystal which was originally transparent and s.h.i.+ning turned into a dark black color which resembled ink. The ink inside the crystal ball looked like overflowing waves rolling outwards and it dim lit up the entire back room. Soon after, the entire room turned pitch-black.

At the same time, not only had the crystal ball changed a lot but so had the complexion on Master Liao's face.

"You, wait for a bit." Master Liao turned off the testing ball and light returned to the back room. He didn't even say qualified or not qualified to Lin Haoxue.

Then, he continued to test other children, and soon, the testing had finished.

In the end, except the kid that had been taken away by the young girl, n.o.body else had stayed behind.

Master Liao made the other kids leave and then looked at Lin Haoxue. He asked her seriously, "How much do you know about willforce?"
Lin Haoxue shook her head.

"Willforce has two componets, quality and quant.i.ty. There are seven levels of quality from low to high they are: red, orange, yellow, green, greenish-blue, blue, and violet. As for the quant.i.ty, the levels are: minute, lacking, normal, adequate, and abundant."

"My willforce doesn't seem to be any of these seven colors?

"Common sense holds that one with an extreme quality of willforce would make it purple-colored. Your willforce, indeed isn't any of those seven colors. As for your quant.i.ty, your willforce has far exceeded the abundant level." Master Liao finished his words here. He then looked a little absent minded seemingly recalling something. He then kept talking, "Your willforce, reminded me of a story. A story that is almost viewed as a legend."
