CREAKKK!!!!

Two eyes scanned through the contents of the box that was opened.

Boruto looked at his right hand.

On his right hand was the ninja tool he had used the previous day to win the match against s.h.i.+kadai.

Although it had been really embarra.s.sing the moment he had been caught, the following battle against Ōtsutsuki Kins.h.i.+ki and Momos.h.i.+ki had shown him that he was better off relying on his own abilities.

"I guess it will be for the best," Boruto murmured following which he lifted the lid of the box higher using his left hand and placed the scientific ninja tool within the box.

"Onii-chan!" Boruto turned around to see Himawari at the door.

"Mama said breakfast is ready,"

"All right, I'll be down in a minute," Boruto replied, following which Himawari left.

Boruto then walked over to his table.

He looked at his red colored scroll shaped gaming console.

"I think I should go ahead and reset this game,"

"Though it might take a few days to catch up to Inojin and s.h.i.+kadai's level I'll do it without cheats this time,"

< a="" start-up="" sound="" plays="" on="" the="" gaming="" console="">

tick! tick tick

Alert!

Boruto stared at the system message.

< all="" the="" previous="" game="" saves="" will="" be="" deleted.="">

< proceed="" ahead…="" press="" y="" to="" confirm="" or="" b="" to="" go="" back="">

Boruto closed his eyes tightly.

Tick!

Boruto stared at his loading screen.

< data="" wipe="" complete!="">

Following which the Game screen returned to its start-up screen.

Boruto quickly navigated to his character stats.

"All has been reset…" Boruto murmured.

In the living room, Boruto started his first level adventure with his character sitting opposite to Naruto, who was drinking his morning coffee. Himawari, on the other hand, was staring at Hinata st.i.tching up Boruto's jacket that was torn.

Boruto saw his mom lift up a part of his jacket that had a big tear.

"It's okay mom…"

"You can leave it,"

Hinata looked at her son, who was gaming at the dining chair.

"It looks cool like that," Boruto answered while busy playing his game.

< game="" over!="">

"Argh!," Boruto stared at his character being defeated.

The screen returned to show some minor improvements to his level one character.

Boruto switched off the console.

"Mom, my jacket," Boruto said as he got up from his chair.

Hinata handed over the jacket to Boruto following which he smiled.

"I have to go now," Boruto said, following which he turned towards Naruto who was at the table.

"How are you doing on time, dad?" Boruto asked.

"Oh, yeah," Naruto got up to wear his sandals.

"Papa, your lunch!" Himawari reminded.

"Oops!"

"Thank you, Himawari," Naruto rubbed Himawari's head gently after collecting his packed Bento.

"Oh no, Boruto forgot too," Hinata said.

"I'm off,"

"I'll be going now!" Naruto and Boruto walked out the door.

"Have a good day," Hinata and Himawari waved at the duo.

"Boruto, are you off on a mission?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah."

"Do your best at work, Dad!" Boruto replied as he raised his right fist.

Naruto responded with a fist b.u.mp, following which the duo headed off in different directions.

Almost an hour later, Boruto and his team watch Boruto's interview by the Hokage mountains.

"A kage buns.h.i.+n, huh?"

"I hope you're the real one," Sarada looked at Boruto.

"Of course!" Boruot closed an eye.

"You've been busy with all those television interviews," Mitsuki commented.

"Even though you cheated," Sarada scoffed as she turned away.

"How many times have I apologized for that?"

"Give me a break already!" Boruto said, feeling wronged.

"GRRRRR!!!!!"

Konohamaru who stood behind the team suddenly pulled out his Binoculars and activated his receiver.

"A panda's escaped from the zoo!" A voice cried out in the receiver.

"No, it's a bear," another voice clarified.

"Anyway it's headed your way," the first voice shouted through the receiver.

"Roger that!" Konohamaru responded as he walked towards the edge of the mountain to get a closer look at the breakout.

"Not again… eh," Konohamaru sighed following which he turned towards the team.

"I'll be the decoy,"

"So you guys go capture it," Konohamaru said following which he jumped down the mountain.

"Roger!"

"Right!" Boruto and Sarada confirmed the orders.

"Do it right this time, you two," Mitsuki reminded.

"Boruto, You're the son of the seventh Hokage…"

"…and the grandson of the Fourth Hokage…"

"Hey Boruto," Sarada interrupted..

"Hmm?" Boruto looked at Sarada.

"Deep down inside, don't you want to become the Hokage too?" Sarada asked.

"Me, the Hokage?" Boruto asked.

Sarada looked at Boruto.

"I don't want to!" Boruto said in a firm voice.

"But…"

"When you become the Hokage, I'll become your right-hand man," Boruto pointed to himself as he looked at Sarada.

Sarada blushed as she turned away..

"I'll guard you well," Boruto said as he folded his arms.

"…" Sarada was totally red, almost like hearing a confession from Boruto himself.

"To me, Hokage is just a path,"

"Just because my grandpa and dad are Hokage…"

"Doesn't mean I have to walk down the same path,"

"What I'm really aiming for…"

"…is to become a s.h.i.+n.o.bi like your dad," Boruto said as he visualized himself traveling around the world like Sasuke.

"I'm going to follow my own ninja way!" Boruto said as he clenched his fists.

"WHERE'S MY DISTRACTION, EHHH???" Konohamaru shouted from below the mountain.

"Yikes," Boruto quickly jumped down followed by Sarada and Mitsuki.

Soon the team took down the bear and brought it back to the zoo.

Once that was done, they returned back to mission headquarters.

"Mission success!" Konohamaru submitted a report.

"Konohamaru-sensei,"

"Is there any other interesting mission today?" Sarada asked.

"Unfortunately none I'm afraid…" The woman at the mission counter said.

"Sarada," a voice called out.

"Chocho," Sarada, Boruto, Mitsuki and Konohamaru turned around to see Inojin, s.h.i.+kadai and Chocho and Moegi.

"Yo," Boruto waved at the four, following which s.h.i.+kadai, Inojin, and Boruto walked into a corner of the room.

Chocho walked towards Sarada.

"Hey,"

"There's been an interesting news spreading out lately," Chocho said as she spoke next to Sarada's ears.

"Oh?"

"What is it?" Sarada asked.

"Apparently there's an old fortunetelling man that appeared at the entrance of the village," Chocho revealed in an excited manner.

"And…?" Sarada prompted.

"Apparently his rate of prediction is one hundred percent,"

"He has helped many girls find their destined man," Chocho said.

Sarada looked towards Boruto.

"You weren't kidding when you said you started out again," Inojin said as he compared Boruto's character's stats to his own.

"At this rate, it might take you a few weeks," s.h.i.+kadai commented.

"Really?" Boruto regretted resetting his game...

"So, what did he tell you?" Sarada asked.

"I was going to check him out after I told you," Chocho said as she stuffed her mouth with some BBQ flavored chips.

"I see…" Sarada murmured.

Inojin at this moment, put away his game console and looked at Boruto.

Whoos.h.!.+

Inojin took out a card.

"Guess who I got?" Inoji asked.

"Is it a Hokage card?" s.h.i.+kadai asked.

"Nope," Inojin shook his head.

"Rogue ninja?" Boruto asked.

"You could say that," Inojin said as he closed an eye.

"Stop keeping us in the dark teba.s.sa!" Boruto said in a firm voice.

*s.h.!.+* Inojin turned the card.

"NO WAY!" Boruto fell down, followed by s.h.i.+kadai.

"Hm?" Sarada, Chocho, Moegi, and Konohamaru turned towards the trio.

"EHHH?" Konohamaru was shocked as well.

"Uchiha Madara," Boruto stared at the card with his eyes going as wide as saucers.

"Hehe," Inojin smirked.

"Inojin," Boruto placed a hand on Inojin's shoulder.

"What is it, Boruto," Inojin looked at Boruto, whose face was hung down.

"I-I have over a 100 of my dad's cards,"

"Please save me from this h.e.l.l dateba.s.sa,"

"Just this card, no, any card,"

"Just exchange a card for the ones I have,"

"I beg you," Boruto looked at Inojin with puppy eyes.

"Hmm…." Inojin looked away as though he was thinking of making an exchange.

Seeing this gesture, Boruto sprang back up.

"Are you going to exchange?" Boruto asked with an excited expression.

"Nope," Inojin shot Boruto's request down.

"Gah!" Boruto felt like cold water was poured over him.

"Although…" Inojin paused.

"Say it quick, please," Boruto begged.

"I heard there was a fortune teller guy outside the village gates," Inojin suggested.

"Huh?" Boruto stared blankly at Inojin.

"You mean the guy who revealed to you on where to get the Legendary ninja cards?" s.h.i.+kadai asked.

"Shus.h.!.+" Inojin immediately closed s.h.i.+kadai's mouth.

"Outside the gates, fortuneteller?" Boruto looked at Inojin.

"Yes," Inojin gave a slight nod.

Boruto turned towards Konohamaru and the others,

"I'll see you guys later!" Boruto said as he ran off.

"Boruto wait!" Sarada and Mitsuki quickly chased after him.

(Whoos.h.!.+)

Boruto landed by the gates.

"Hey, guys,"

"You know where's the fortune telling man around here?" Boruto asked.

"Oh, him?"

"He just left in that direction," The guard said as he pointed to the path that led out of the village.

"Thanks!" Boruto ran off.

"Boruto!"

"Wait!" Sarada and Mitsuki chased from behind.

Sounds of hurried footsteps echoed around the quiet path as Boruto increased his speed to catch up with the fortuneteller.

Soon, Boruto's eyes caught sight of a figure in a grey cloak walking down the path.

"Wait!" Boruto shouted.

"Huh?" The figure turned around to see Boruto land in front of him.

Hah, haa, haaahh… Hah

Boruto tried to catch his breath.

"You want me to tell you, your destiny young man?" The fortuneteller asked.

"W-wait…" Boruto was breathing in and out deeply.

Soon Mitsuki and Sarada had caught up as well, by which the man had set up a small chair and a table with a crystal ball on the top.

Sarada was eager to find out if Boruto would be the one she would end up with, on the other hand, Mitsuki had his own thoughts as well about the situation.

"So what do you want to know, young man?" The fortuneteller asked.

"Where can I get the Fourth Hokage card?" Boruto asked directly.

"Hoho," The man hovered his hand over the crystal ball.

"One day, A boy will exchange that with you," the fortuneteller said.

"Haah?"

"But I want to find it myself," Boruto said.

"Unfortunately, your luck is such that you will end up finding only one card in that entire series," The fortuneteller shook his head as he said the sentence.

Sarada almost wanted to laugh, but she held back from hurting Boruto's feelings.

"d.a.m.n!" Boruto clenched his fists.

"So, do you want to know about your destiny, young man?" The fortuneteller asked.

"Heh, I'll make my destiny myself tebasa!" Boruto smiled.

"What an interesting fella," the fortuneteller smiled.

"There's one thing I want to know," Boruto said as he looked at the fortuneteller.

"I want to defeat my dad," Boruto said.

"…" Sarada and Mitsuki stared at Boruto silently.

"Are you sure that's what you want to know?" The fortuneteller asked.

Boruto thought back to his conversation with Sasuke two days ago…

___________

"I want to know about my dad's weakness, datteba.s.sa," Boruto smiled.

"Weakness?" Sasuke stared at Boruto.

He then thought back to Naruto from the old days.

"He was full of weakness,"

"He was a good for nothing."

"…"

"But he pulled himself up with his own strength…"

"You don't need to understand who Naruto is now,"

"You need to know the Naruto who made it all the way here Naruto," Sasuke concluded.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Boruto wondered.

__________

"In order to understand your father, you must live through what he lived..." The fortuneteller said.

"Are you saying that you could show me, my old man's life?" Boruto asked as he stared at the Crystal ball on the desk.

"Show you?"

"I have the next best thing!" the man said as he summoned a portal next to him.

Whoos.h.!.+

Boruto got sucked in by the portal.

"AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" Boruto screamed as he travelled through…

"BORUTOOO!!!!!!!" Sarada screamed as the portal closed on her side.
