The Universe Conspired For Us To Meet 137 Mrs Jayne Roy

Virat stood frozen there. He didn't know if he was hallucinating or if it was for real. All he did was stand there motionless and expressionless.

Since Jayne was standing down, everybody from the audience couldn't look at her.

So, everyone including the female singer who was still on stage, asked her to come up. She looked at Ronnie who also asked her to go. He was more than ready to flaunt his wife's talent.

Singing along, Jayne walked up on to the stage and the beam of light followed her. Her red saree swayed along as she walked up while simultaneously grabbing everyone's attention.

The crowd cheered and cheered for her.

Sanvi involuntarily stood up on recognising the familiar side profile. Her heart starting beating so fast that she thought the entire world could hear it. She glanced towards the entrance when she got another major shock of her life when she saw Virat already standing there rooted to his spot.

She almost thought if Virat hadn't come yet, she'd find an excuse to get out of here.

But unfortunately, it was all over now! Virat was standing right there.

By then, Jayne took the center-stage. Her gentle, moon-like face was beaming under the lights. Her eyes full of love for the person who was sitting below in the audience. Ronnie reciprocated his wife's love. He was so full of pride for his wife.

On the other hand, Virat's world suddenly turned colourful again… his joy knew no bounds.. he was so paralysed with happiness that his eyes glistened. 'Yes! It's my Maya.. I very well knew she'd come back to me… I never expected her to come back to me, by professing her love for me in front of so many people like this…'

Happiness swelled through him to such a level that for once he thought, 'Have I ever been this happier in my life? The love in her eyes is everything I ever asked for...' The entire world around him turned mute… It was just his Maya and him at that moment.

Virat was so dizzy with happiness that he failed to notice that the love in her eyes wasn't for him anymore. No doubt it was his favourite song, the one which she would always sing for him, but it wasn't for him anymore.

Looking at the mult.i.tude of emotions on Virat's face, fury overcame Sanvi. 'This b**** of a girl is here to steal my Virat. Come to think of it, how could she come here all of a sudden from nowhere? There's something fishy here…' Her face paled, anger rose through her but she made sure to keep her frustrations at check.

She slowly walked towards Virat and wrapped her arms around him. At that moment, she saw Virat so happy that it scared her. "Sanvi! Look it's our Maya. She's here! Didn't I tell you the other day? See I could never be wrong Sanvi!"

Sanvi could feel Virat's happiness swelling through him. She obviously didn't want to show her displeasure. She added, "Of course Virat. Didn't I tell you too... rather than we searching for Maya, she herself will come to us when we least expect it?" She pretended to be beaming with the same happiness.

But inwardly she sneered, 'No matter what, I shouldn't let these two meet. I don't care about the consequences. Virat is mine and only mine! Maya how dare you appear exactly on the day I wished to profess my love for Virat! Isn't it enough to show what a b**** you are!'

She snapped back  to her radiant smiling self waiting for Maya to complete the song.

Jayne on the other hand, never for once looked at Virat or Sanvi. Her eyes were mostly fixed on her husband. It was like, she meant every line of the lyrics to him that everybody could see her love for him.

But Virat thought the feelings behind the song was meant for him. He felt his heart was singing along… it raised his spirits which were now on a new found high.

While Sanvi's face hardened, she balled her fists simultaneously clenching her teeth. She could feel the fear of losing Virat crawling up her face.

She had never for once seen this love in Virat's eyes for her. It was only for Maya that his eyes sparkled with this kind of warmth. This love was never hers to begin with. Yet, now her love for Virat turned into an obsession which she couldn't let go.

Meanwhile, the song came to an end. Jayne respectfully bowed to the crowd while the hosts came up on stage.

Host Nick: "Oh my G.o.d audience, I'm sure we loved this twist. Didn't we?"

Shriek and applause from the crowd. "Once more! Once more!"

Host Dimple: "Come on Ladies and Gentlemen, give it up for Mrs Jayne Roy…."

Virat and Sanvi looked at each other dumbstruck and said in unison, "MRS JAYNE ROY?"
