A Plant's Life 62 Testing

"First, I need to improve my core functionality using least pure mana, then pure lifeforce and at last the highest mana found in the symbols. I have an abundant inventory of each kind, sufficient for two upgrades per method. In order to reach the best results, such an experiment cannot be deemed as finished, rather each new energy has to be meticulously studied, there is also a possibility of corruption from exposure to any of these elements, one needs to be careful while dealing with the matters of supernatural. It is time to get started, while I am improving myself this new lab rat will have some time to shake off the effects of my strong spell"

Without further ado, John began his experimentation.

John observed the quant.i.tative and qualitative value changes done by the prior upgrades and adjusted 3 more experiments mixing the 3 kinds of different energy and observed their effects.

He concluded:

"Truly fascinating, they each have their own effect, one cannot notice it unless they are magnified and tested in the field. In small doses they are harmless, yet once dependency has been established, the user would be affected, ever so slightly. Especially the life force, which carries the resentment of the dead, it will corrupt the mind, pus.h.i.+ng the thief towards madness, creating a bloodthirsty beast. The effects can be neglected in small dozes, but as the number of victims s...o...b..a.l.l.s so does their fate. As for low-level mana, the effects are much stronger than what I found in my plant form; it is a direct tool of brainwas.h.i.+ng, increasing the influence of the system in the mind of its user. However, the logic follows the main structure of investment and return, as the well-known saying goes, there is no free lunch in the world. I reckon the poor consumer would not know of their addiction all the way till the end; as the mana strictly controls their power attainment" John observed.

He was fascinated by the operation of energy in this world, as it was difficult to know whether it was a living organism following commands or simple program design. He further examined the mixed cases:

"The mixed flow seems as ineffective as putting water with oil, they simply do not match each other, thus their effects become unpredictable and unstable. However, that is the case when one is using both at the same time and attempting to force them together, the method used by me beforehand was not similar to this experiment; now I have enough control to use my influence as a solvent and have them mix and complement one another. Yet the results are not satisfactory, on the contrary, the shortage of data has forced this round of testing to give false conclusions, upon first glance it appears as if the two have neutralized the side effects, yet after closer inspection, one will find small unstable factors hidden inside as if each of the forces has a pre-function to produce a destructive trap. It appears if they cannot manipulate their foe, a self-destruct strategy would be followed up, only the dead can keep secrets; also the sudden explosion of the user can be masked as taking more than they were able to handle or not having the proper talent; a perfect disguise!"

John had not mixed the forces with one fixed percentage, rather he used small particles of different amounts until the exact format to produce the little minefield was found. Then with his excess control over energy, he disarmed the traps, as if they were child's play; if the designer saw such a scene John would find himself a few powerful mortal enemies. Yet he had broken the small death tricks, to use the results for his level up enhancement, so in the future, he would break such dilemma with more ease!
