The flash of light blinded me as if I was looking at the sun.

"BOOOOOOOM!!!!"

A huge shock wave sounded out and the wind in front of my face whipped about.

"Slap!"

My body was. .h.i.t by a huge pressure as the wind carried me off my feet. The shock wave from whatever just happened was too much.

"Cras.h.!.+"

"Bang!"

"CreeK!!!"

More sounds reverberated out as huge crashes resounded. I could tell it was coming from the east of where I was, but I couldn't tell from where, the golden light was too blinding.

I flew through the air and finally crashed into a building. The air was forced out of me and I spat up a mouthful of blood. After the initial hit into the building I was now falling towards the ground the wind hitting my face.

I barley opened my eyes a crack before seeing the ground zooming towards me.

"Bang!"

"Urgh"

A groan escaped my lips as I laid there; even with my gear the force from the wind had battered me badly. I forced myself to flip over and started to gasp for air. My mind was blank as the golden light finally left and I saw it dim.

It was coming from both the west and the east.

In the east were the cras.h.i.+ng sound had come from was the city center, it was mainly comprised of sky sc.r.a.pers and huge buildings, something must have happened down there. To the west were the suburbs. They consisted mostly of houses and bordered the mountains that were on the outskirts of the city.

If I had to guess where the light was going it would be the mountain, but what the h.e.l.l just happened?

I coughed another mouthful of blood up before my mind suddenly concentrated; my pupil's dilated as I realized I was with someone else. How could I forget!

I forced myself into a sitting position and looked around quickly searching with my eyes.

"Ella!"

I shouted out in panic as I realized the devastation around me. There was gla.s.s scattered all over the place with nearly all the windows of the buildings being shattered. Even my body was covered in some that had fallen.

My face was a picture of blood as pain started to come through my face. It had been badly scratched up by the falling gla.s.s; I also think my nose was broken.

"Ella!"

I shouted out again even though I knew it might attract zombies, I hadn't been this panicked in a long while.

No, I can't panic right now!

I forced myself to calm down and roused my eyes to concentrate in front of me. They glimmered with light as my spirit vision kicked in. I finally saw the thread that connected me and Ella still strong right in front of my heart.

I stared at it, releasing a pent up breath, and then tried to follow it with my eyes. I stood up on shaky legs and started making my way in its direction.

"Ella!"

I didn't stop shouting out as I made my way over. I had to scramble over ruble and tossed cars as I made my way over. Finally as I got closer I could start to feel her and a voice sounded in my head. It was filled with relief and anxiousness.

"Father!"

I also calmed down at the words and replied to her.

"Ella I'm here."

Her emotions finally calmed down as I felt her getting closer to me. After another minute of scrambling I finally got to her. She gave me a huge smile and sped up. I also smiled in relief and made my way over. In the moment when my tension relaxed, Ella's voice screamed in my head.

"Watch out!"

I sucked in a deep breath as my senses pushed themselves, throwing caution to the wind I instantly dived to my right. I lucked out in choosing the right direction as the moment I did a small shadow flashed past where I had been standing.

The ruble that had been under my feet was instantly shredded to pieces and I got a look at what it was.

Something that looked like a mix of a cat and a tiger was crouched their, looking at me with its round eyes.

The eyes were blood red and radiated viciousness as they turned to me. After missing its prey it was getting ready to pounce again. It was about the size of a small child or dog and huge compared to any cat I had seen before.

Its claws glistened with blood and glinted like metal.

Holy s.h.i.+t!

I quickly used a.n.a.lyze as I back up and pulled my blade. Because I was still a bit weak, I was moving slowly.

"Insect!!"

A huge voice shouted in our direction just as I finished looking at its stats and I saw Ella sprinting over, her rage overflowing, while her mind cooled down. It was weird feeling her overflowing rage and seeing her face that was as cold as ice.

I re-focused on the beast as it moved in closer to me. Even though I was weaker than usual, I still had a huge amount of Agility. I should be able to handle it.

If it wasn't because of its ambush I would have been fine fighting it.

The sun glinted off my blade as I stood ready to defend. We both stared at each other before it slightly s.h.i.+fted its claws. The light from its reflection for a split second glinted in my eye and I lost sight of it. I reacted quickly and side stepped to the left, using my sense's to try and track it.

It had adjusted to my quick move and was on its way to ramming into me. I leaned back and thrust my blade forwards as I dropped the weight in my legs. My blade connected with something as I fell on my back.

I wasn't very good at the maneuver as I felt my body strain from the awkwardness, but I had injured it.

"Grrr!"

It growled at me as a line of blood could be seen in its underside. Before I could recover it had pounced back at me with quick agility and sent a swipe. The force behind its paw slammed into my armor and sent me off my feet.

I spit out blood as I was sent flying again, but luckily my gear had held true. It hadn't cracked and only had claw marks on it. Slamming back down into some rubble I got to my feet as quickly as I could and faced it again. It was closing in quick.

But before it could reach me a shadow drifted by and it's speed dropped significantly, Ella had arrived. Her pressure radiated outwards as she locked down the beast. It struggled and still had strength left to try and fight, but it was useless as she brandished her blade and quickly thrusts it through its eye.

The brain was instantly pierced and blood popped outwards. The blade dulled significantly and couldn't pierce through the back of its skull, but it had done its job. Ella didn't even retrieve the blade as she flashed back towards me.

"Are you ok Father?!"

I smiled and nodded back, she didn't even look that banged up compared to me. When that golden light flashed past it didn't look like it affected her much.

"Don't you mean Brother?"

I said back to her, trying to re-enforce what I had been telling her. She frowned slightly at my words before forcing out the word brother. I would get her used to it after a while. She looked like she was 20 and called me father, it was just weird.

Finally having time to relax, my adrenaline stopped pumping and the pain flooded in. Grimacing slightly I let myself relax as Ella moved towards the beast.

Guess she's hungry.

As Ella stood over the beast she did something that surprised me though, she stared at it before spitting to the side.

"Stupid Insect"

I could hear her voice even though it was quiet; it held so much venom in it!

"Just like the other inferior insect"

Then before I could process her words she started to wail on the beast. She wasn't eating it, she was just kicking and punching it.

My eyes went blank as I looked on. She continued on for a while as I felt her vent her rage.

Thinking back to the wolves that had attacked me in the hospital and the fact she called this beast and them insects, everything clicked.

Yeap, she wasn't an animal person.

I turned my eyes away as Ella calmed down and started to eat her food. She wasn't going to waste it.

I Relaxed and closed my eyes, waiting for regeneration to start its work.
