Chapter 199

"You never told me anything! Don't blame me for your lack of foresight! You were a vice captain for this Kingdoms army! How can you lack common sense! Minimize your risk by communicating with your people! Let your people know what is going on at all times!" Ariana growled . She wanted to pound the table but held herself back, she didn't know what Gregory would do if she flew with her tantrum .

Gregory started to gnash his teeth as veins started to pop out on his neck and forehead . His eyes started to blaze with pure rage as he looked at Ariana . "You know nothing of battle and you are not one of my own!" Gregory shouted as he stood up . He was too loud, the people in the library turned around to look at them .

 Ariana stood up quickly, tossing her chair back as she did . If Gregory was going to fly if the end, then she was not going to hold back . "I'm glad I'm not one of your men! I would have probably died out in the battlefield!" Ariana shouted back .

Gregory raised his hand to strike Ariana but she caught his wrist mid air surprise him . "You will never lay a hand on me again!" Ariana yelled as she tightened her grip around his wrist . Gregory instinctively pulled away but Ariana's grip was firmly in place . There was no room for escape . Ariana pulled Gregory forward with all her strength . The force caught him off guard again and he semi collapsed on to the tabl . Gregory had stopped himself from completely face planting on to the table by bracing his impact with his other hand . "You will never treat me like your punching bag again . " Ariana said in a low and deadly voice that it even caused Gregory to involuntarily to s.h.i.+ver .

"I need to be alone . " Ariana said as she released Gregory . "Mother, I apologise for not spending more time with you but if you could please excuse me . " Ariana said politely to Lady Zula but it lacked the affection and happiness she usually showed . "We can talk later . " Lady Zula said with a gentle smile . Ariana nodded her head in agreement before she walkef off .

Gregory quickly stood up, completely pale from embara.s.sment . He tried to brush everything off as he straightened out his royal blue blaze but the on lookers already started to talk amongst themselves . Gregory turned his rage toward Lady Zula . "Are you going to let her leave like that?!" He spat in her direction . Lady Zula just sighed and looked at Gregory with a mischievous glint in her eyes . "She's your daughter . Are you going to let her leave like that?"

Ariana was practically beside herself as she stormed out of the library . Even the librarian had shrank away from Ariana and silently watched as she walked out the door . Davita laughed as she recalled Gregory's face . 'I can guarantee you he had no idea all that strength came from me . ' Ariana slowed down her pace and let out a small laugh . "You're right . That b.a.s.t.a.r.d probably thought that I had superhuman strength . Thank you for helping me keep a grip on him and for pus.h.i.+ng him on to the table . " Ariana said as she brought her hand up and started petting Davita under her chin . 'No problem . I am just sorry you have so much pain to go through . ' Davita replied .

"You and me both . . . Davita, does the G.o.ddess of Creation hate me?" Ariana asked . Davita went silent . "Can't say . . . I thought as much . " Ariana sighed . She was now practically dragging her feet as she continued to walk, she had no idea where she could go .

She thought about every place she could go, dorm room, school, wait in the quad and go back to the library, the infirmary but nothing seemed right . Then she remembered the Dabneys and decided to go back to them . 'Ariana . . . Do you want to talk about what happened?' Davita asked . "I do but with someone who is willing to answer me . " Ariana replied .

Davita got off Ariana's shoulders and turned back into light . 'Do what you want but don't forget that summoned souls are affiliated with the church . ' Davita said before she went back into the earring . Ariana froze . She could feel herself break out into a cold sweat . She forgot to look up what Vanessa had told her about the taboo fairytale and the only clue she really had was the man's uniform . Someone from the church was summoning souls but for what purpose? Ariana couldn't move here feet, she was frozen with fear .

She couldn't risk opening up further to Roselyn Dabney . She might have told her husband everything and he was a member of the board . What if they were working together and he was in fact the mole . Thoughts were racing in Ariana's mind at a mile a minute . "I can't go back . " Ariana said as she took a step back . No where was safe, anxiety was creeping into her heart and she could feel pressure from every direction . 'Who said?' a familiar voice called out . Ariana turned and her heart rejoiced . "Vasu!" Ariana yelled as she held her arms wide open .

Vasu happily crashed into Ariana's chest and waited for her embrace . 'The husband is back and he's not looking too good . ' Vasu announced . Ariana flinched . Her mind just cleared and she had to bring her thoughts back to them . "What's wrong?" Ariana asked cautiously .

'Something about the Headmaster punis.h.i.+ng him . ' Vasu said as he wiggled his face free from the embrace . He looked up at Ariana and instantly frowned . 'Who hurt you . ' He said with a firm voice . "Oh . " Ariana said as she brought her hand up and touched her cheek . She then flinched from the pain . "That b.a.s.t.a.r.d did . " Ariana replied with a disgusted face .

Vasu gently glowed pink and Ariana could feel her body warm up . 'There . ' Vasu announced . "Thank you . " Ariana said as she started to pat her cheek . "Much better . " She said happily . 'Now, why can't you go back . ' Vasu asked . Ariana groaned, she wanted to talk to someone and Vasu would be more then willing to talk to her but she didn't want to worry him either . Not with what the information she had discovered especially since he was in love with Evangeline . "Is Roselyn a bad person? Can I trust her? She was summoned . . . " Ariana asked quietly .
