"Huh? The door is locked?" Yang Qiu Rei knocked on the door demanding Gu Wing to open it . After not getting any responses, he called butlers to break open the door . It only took one kick for the butler to loosen the lock and barge into the room . When they entered, there were no traces of anyone ever being in there . The bed was still neat and everything was perfectly in place . Since the pathway to the underground attic was closed, Yang Qiu Rei a.s.sumed that Gu Wing already got out and was somewhere else in the house . 'She probably accidentally locked the room form the inside then . . . but why does something feel out of place here . . . ?'

Everyone turned away and was heading out of the room, when suddenly, Yang Qiu Rei stopped them, "Wait . There is supposed to be three gla.s.ses and a container filled with water . Now, there are two gla.s.ses and an empty container . Someone was here . There is still some water stains over here on the floor . Quickly search everywhere in this room and see if anyone is here!"

The butlers searched behind the curtains and inside the closets . "Master Yang, there is n.o.body in this room . "

"Impossible! Are you sure you guys searched every corner of this room already?! What about the bed? Underneath it!"

One of the butlers quickly lifted the bed sheets and blankets to look beneath the bed .

"Ah! I got it!!"

"See?! Grab that person and see who it is!" He grinned with a prideful tone .

"No, not a person . I found the cup you were looking for . " The butler held the emptied gla.s.s in his hands shakingly as he presented it to Master Yang .

" . . . Find the maid who is in charge of cleaning and refilling water in this room . Cut her wage for a month for her neglectance . Also, look for madam . When you find her, tell her that I'm looking for her and will be in our bedroom . Dismissed . " He waved his hand and walked back to his room .

The butlers left out a huge sigh after he left .

Butler 1 followed behind and closed the door .

"s.h.i.+t! Nana, Yang Qiu Rei is coming!!! We need to find a place to hide, but can't hide in these closets!" Ya Nuo helped Nana up while thinking of a way to hide themselves from him . Nana pointed, "What about under the bed?"

"They'll definitely find us there . "

"But other than there, there aren't any hiding spots . The closets will be the first things searched . "

"Okay . Let's hide under the bed then . You go under first and I'll follow . " Ya Nuo put the water container back in place, took the medical kit and crawled under the bed next to Nana .

After crawling under the bed, Nana realized that she was still holding the gla.s.s cup that she used for water . She was startled by Yang Qiu Rei's knock and raised her elbow b.u.mping into the bed frame . Suddenly, the wall behind the bed frame opened up a secret pathway .

Ya Nuo: "d.a.m.n these witches, what is this? An escape room or some treasure map? So many d.a.m.n mazes . "

Nana whispered, "I must have accidentally pressed something when I b.u.mped my elbow . I'll follow whatever choice you make . "

Ya Nuo: "Then, let's go . " She quickly crawled in and helped Nana afterwards . After entering through the small opening, it was very surprising because the s.p.a.ce inside was much bigger that both of them fit on the staircase . The wall closed almost immediately and they could finally let out a sigh of relief for now . When they crawled inside earlier, Ya Nuo remembered to bring the medical kit with her . After making sure that they're safe, Ya Nuo quickly sanitized her hand using hand sanitizer and wipes before touching Nana's b.l.o.o.d.y bandages .

Ya Nuo carefully untied the knot from the bandage and slowly took it off . The good thing was that Nana stopped bleeding long ago so she can do some basic wound cleaning procedures and then wrapped a new bandage around her head . After that, Ya Nuo put everything that were used in a zip lock bag that she found in the kit and put it back inside so n.o.body would know that they were ever here .

Ya Nuo: "Let's go . At least this place has light so it's easier for us to explore . "

Nana nodded and held her hand as they walked down the stairs .

Ya Nuo: "Nana, no matter what we see later, don't be scared okay? I'm here with you . "

Nana looked at her with a confused expression, "What do you mean?"

She tightened her grip on Ya Nuo's hands from the change in her tone .

Ya Nuo: "We've walked for a bit already and this staircase is so steep . These spiral staircases are kind of old too and you can tell by the amount of dust that is on these stairs . Did you notice? There was only one type of foot prints on these steps . Heels . "
