One Night With The Prince Chapter 208

Days pa.s.sed, and Alexa did her best to continue on living.  However, it's unsure if one can consider it was living for she was like a ghost.  She would wake up in the morning and do her daily routine.  She would sit and converse with everyone every single time but not really into the conversations.

Chrissy, who was planning to return to the Philippines after making sure that Alexa was doing much better, had postponed it for a while.  Alexa needed someone by her side while she's completing her duty as Miss Universe. 

Chrissy had spoken with Sophia and informed her of what had happened. She understands that a mother needed to be by her daughter's side in this situation.  Therefore, they agreed that Chrissy would stay with Alexa until she's back to normal.

President Grant left them alone and went about his business as the President of the United States and dealt with the country's matter.  He decided to stay away for a while and attend to some urgent issues in another country. He was leaving Chrissy to stay and take care of their child while he was gone.

Grandmother Grant decided to stay at the white house as well to keep them company while the men were trying to find a way for. Alexa to be able to be with Prince Alexander while he's still in the country recuperating.  Daniel had tried his best to pull some string. Unfortunately, they were not successful in getting approval no matter what Daniel tried.

He finally gave up and instead decided to persuade Alexa to let go. " I'm not saying that you should forget about him, all I'm saying was that you need to keep on going and show them who you are.  Fight for what is yours and don't let anyone take it away from you."  Daniel advises his sister, wholeheartedly.

President Grant and Chrissy never had a chance to reconcile since he's still greaving from his loss.  Along with what's going on with Prince Alexander and Alexa, they decided to be cordial with each other when there are others, and only greet each other when they run across each other in the White House.  Besides that, Chrissy tried her best to stay as far away from President Grant.  

President Grant also made sure that they were never alone, for he wasn't sure how he would be able to handle not being able to blurt out how he feels about Chrissy.  However, he always made sure that not a day goes by that Chrissy, and he would still run across each other in the hallway towards the dining room or the garden.

Life at the First Family residence inside the White House was like living in the mausoleum.  Alexa spent most of her time keeping herself occupied with whatever her hands could find.  She would go to the private kitchen and cook and bake all kinds of goodies.  When she's not doing that, she will sit at the place in the garden where she and Prince Alexander last had been together.

Since Alexa no longer needed the protection of the White House, they decided to move back to their home in the outskirt of Was.h.i.+ngton, D.C.  They left as soon as possible, for Alexa must begin her preparation for all her duty that about to commence.

As soon as they were back home, Chrissy became busy being her mother and manager.  Alexa was receiving offers for endors.e.m.e.nt after endors.e.m.e.nt.  However, Chrissy has to decline most of them. She was giving the reason that Alexa still has to fulfill her duty as Miss Universe.

Finally, Alexa took on her role as the reigning Miss Universe and had to travel all over the place to be the amba.s.sador of Miss Universe Pageant.  She then became very busy and had no time to dwell on her misery.  Since she's always in the limelight, she has no choice but to show them smile after smile.

She didn't have time to worry about anything else.  However, when the night comes... The reality would hit, and she would spend many sleepless nights thinking about Prince Alexander.  And when the morning comes, she would show up in front of everyone looking all beautiful and with a smile as if everything was fine.

Alexa began enjoying her role as the new Miss Universe and went to work diligently. They went to various third world countries as the amba.s.sador and done some public service. One developing country needed clean water to help with the epidemic, and Alexa's group did just that.

Daniel and President Grant helped Alexa get grants to build a clean water resource in which she received praise for a job well done.  She busied herself days in and days out with everything and anything she was tasked to do as Miss Universe.

While she was out of the country, she received a piece of news from Andrea that Prince Alexander was taken back to the Kingdom of Stonasia while still have not wakened up for a coma.  She felt a thinge of pain deep inside her heart, for he was still in a coma. 

However, Alexa has to stay healthy and think positive.   Any news that they would provide her, she would only shrug it off and smiles like it's just another news.

Days pa.s.sed, and after a while, they stopped mentioning Prince Alexander.  She no longer heard any news about him, and little by little, she learned to accept that they were not meant to be together and went on with her life. 

Finally, a whole year went by quickly, and it was over.  It was time for Alexa to return the crown and give it to the next Miss Universe.  The compet.i.tion would be held in The Philippines this time.  Everyone was thrilled for it's an opportunity to relax and take a vacation.  

Daniel and Andrea had decided that they would hold a small wedding in the Philippines so all of Andrea's family and relatives could attend.  Then they would have another wedding when they come back to the USA for Daniel's friend and family. 

President Grant and Grandmother Grant agreed and promised to attend when the time comes...  Unknown to them that President Grant wanted to take this opportunity to make once again their family a whole.  He plans on making Chrissy his one and only First Lady...
