One Night With The Prince 97 Interrogation

The First Lady began sweating bullets for no apparent reason. 'What could be the reason he asked for her to come if not to interrogate her about Grandmother Santos. I need to warn her not to say anything, or I'll be in hot water for sure.' She was so engrossed with her thoughts that she had no idea that President Grant was watching her from the corners of his eyes.

Jane Si, who had no idea what was happening, asked First Lady Dianne, "Aunty, are you alright? Why did you suddenly turn pale with the mere mentioned of Lady Lucy Le Grand's name?" She asked her out of concern, not realizing she had just made it worse.

The President who heard Jane Si's question, looked up to see his wife's face and sure enough... Her face was deathly white like she just saw a ghost. 'The ghost from the past and the skeletons in her closet.' President Grant had a few thoughts as he got up to meet with Lady Lucy.

"Alexa dear, if you're about done eating, how about you accompany me to the parlor to meet with Lady Lucy Le Grand? There is something we must discuss with you before I go overseas." He asked Alexa with a fatherly concern in his voice while he ignored the First Lady and Jane Si.

Jane Si nudged her Aunt while pointing with her pouted mouth to the President. "Do something, or we would be left out of the conversation." She whispered to First Lady Dianne.

The First Lady finally came to her senses and realized what was happening.

While still looking deathly pale, she asked without thinking. "What about us? Aren't we invited?" (She had to ask that stupid question?) The First Lady couldn't accept the fact that President Grant was disregarding her right in front of Alexa and Jane Si.

President Grant turned around and looked at the First Lady straight into her eyes. You could see the disgusted look showing plainly on his face, and without batting an eye, he responded, "You are really going to ask me that? Are you sure you want to be around when I sit and have the discussion with Lady Lucy? Answer me! Are you sure? If you're confident, then come-on... I'm inviting you to join us!" The way the President had put it, it was more like; Dianne, I double dare you.

The First Lady was speechless and unable to reply to the President's question that the spittle she swallowed looked like she had grown Adam's apple in her throat.

She had to think about it... 'Do I want to be there and be embarra.s.sed?' She knew why the President himself was summoning Lady Lucy. It was obviously because of that old wench. Since that was the case, she did not want to be around to be ridiculed in front of everyone.

"It's alright. Jane and I would stay and finish our breakfast. I will have a word with Lady Lucy afterward when she finishes with both of you. After all, she is my dear friend. " She replied calmly but with a tinge of unhappiness due to her defeat then went back to pick food onto her plate, unable to look back.

"That's what I thought!" President Grant said in disgust as he got up and was ready to leave.

"Sweetheart, whenever you're ready." He said to Alexa in a gentle voice, very opposite from when he was speaking with the First Lady.

Alexa quickly put the last bite of ham and egg in her mouth before getting up to follow President Grant while chewing the food with her mouth still full. They wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. The atmosphere was so thick and dense. She could feel something was brewing.

However, the quick move that Alexa made with her food did not miss Jane Si's prying eyes.

"Gos.h.!.+ So unladylike. Couldn't you finish chewing first, before leaving? Yikes!" Jane Si had to make it sound disgusting.

Alexa heard it and quickly swallowed the food without chewing it properly, which was a mistake as she almost choked. *Cough, cough, Cough!*

President Grant quickly patted her back while caressing it gently. "Are you alright? Why did you do that? Don't ever pay attention to what she says or does. She's n.o.body to you, just be yourself. She would be n.o.body even if she were standing next to you. Alright?"

"Let's get out of here before I do something to those two." He then put his arm on Alexa's shoulder and ushered her out of the dining room.

Daniel showed up just in time as they were walking out of the dining room. With a wide grin plastered on his handsome face, he happily greeted everyone.

"h.e.l.lo! Everyone! Good morning!" Daniel yelled aloud for everyone to hear. He then turned his attention to his sister, and his mood quickly switched from elegant to tender and full of concern. He gave her a peck on her cheek before asking; "And how are you feeling sweetie?" Eyes full of love and care.

Alexa glanced at Daniel with tears appearing in her eyes, unable to say anything. She only nodded, meaning she was alright. However, Daniel could sense that she was disheartened and wanted to what he can to make her feel better.

"We're about to have a meeting with Lady Lucy, care to join us?" President Grant asked Daniel. He was informing him, but in reality, he was ordering him to attend the meeting with them.

Daniel understood immediately and gladly accepted.

"Let's go! I have nothing better to do today anyway. And it will be so good if we could fry someone in her own oil. Hahaha!" He said: loud enough for his mother and Jane to hear as they were walking out.

Meanwhile, Lady Lucy was seating uncomfortably and perspiring when the air condition was in full blast. She had just received a text message from First Lady Dianne and warned her not to divulge anything from the past. But what was she going to do if the President asked her, what was she going to say?

Lady Lucy was in a dilemma; what would she do? This was one of those cases that made one feel the 'd.a.m.n if you do and d.a.m.n if you don't!" She needed to get a hold of Ramon. He could give her advice on this matter. However, it seemed that Ramon was not awake yet; he wasn't picking up his calls. She had no choice but to text him instead.

She was in deep thought and was busy texting when a voice rang from behind her...
