Just Mine 158 A Big Rock

"Very funny....hahaha" Dwayne said as he sat awkwardly on the bed. "This is awkward, can't i just go sleep on the couch?"

"No you can't ..that's an order from your boss and your fiancee." Sky said smiling. "You know if it was in the old days like our fathers in the Bible...and we are to be wed, on our wedding night, they will be people outside a tent like room or in our room with our bed covered. They'll watch till we consummate the marriage."

"Why are you telling me this now? Are you asking to consummate our union or you telling me our family members are outside your door now? Dwayne asked smiling as he removed his Jean trouser."

"Not really ...it just came to mind. And you are smiling now, I just want you to relax. Just think of me as a rock, a big rock beside you." Sky said as she laid on her side.

" Very helpful Sky"...Dwayne said as he looked at her. She was wearing a huge Polo and a free pyjamas. No she isn't s.e.xy. He thought to himself as he closed his eyes. As he opened them, he looked at her, her back was facing him. He felt like holding her, cuddling her. "No you can't" His inner voice said to him as he shook his head.

He climbed the bed and moved to the other end of the bed, leaving a big s.p.a.ce in the middle. After a few minutes of silence, he tried to see if she was asleep " Why are you trying to get rid of me, why are you sending me abroad?" He listened but no answer, maybe she's asleep. He closed his eyes to sleep, maybe if he counted one to hundred, he'll be able to sleep.

He was in ten when she answered him. "I am not trying to get rid of you Dwayne. I want the best for you, you need to know more about business so you can run the company alongside Anton when i can't. Why do you think I've been sending you to the library to study? The two months won't be enough, you'll need like a year more to do a full course."

"Whether you believe it or not Dwayne, I like you. You were chosen for a reason. Yeah he chose you, but I would have gone with someone else. But after we checked you out, I decided to go along with it. If I have been mean or rude in anyway it's all for your own good.

"I thought you were asleep. Wait....who chose me?" Dwayne asked as he turned to face her.

"It doesn't matter who chose you. And I wasn't sleeping, I was just thinking of something. I can't sleep with the lights on" She said as she turned to the other side. What she wasn't expecting was Dwayne facing her. She thought he was facing the window.

"I can't really sleep with the light off" Dwayne said avoiding her face.

"Ok you can get the switch over there and put on the small switch. You can use the coloured light and if that isn't enough you can open the curtain a bit, so the light from outside can come in" Sky said as she watched him look everywhere but her face.

He did as she asked and went back to lying down.

"Fake fiancee apart Dwayne, what I'm I to you? I mean after all this is over, how will you treat me?"

Dwayne looked her in the eyes. He didn't know how he was going to answer the question. She looked so vulnerable in the night light. He decided to tell her the truth.

"I thought you were gonna cut all ties with me and toss me away when the hold thing is over. But I respect you alot Ms Sky, you are brave, courageous, fearless, beautiful and darn stubborn."

Sky laughed at his description of her. "Wow I'm hurt Mr Teffa. First I'm not that kind of person, you should know that. Secondly I can't toss my baby's father away, believe it or not..you are my sweetpea's father now. I'm sure he or she is listening to your voice now. I actually want us to be good friends, we'll still hang you know, even if there is no contract. And you'll be a good friend to my sweetpea." Sky said as she rubbed her baby b.u.mp.

She was wrong about his eyes. Here in the dark, she could see the real colour. Her smile faded as she looked into his eyes.

Dwayne smiled at his boss statement. "Well Sky I think I love you but like you said, I don't know what love is but I'm sure of one thing. I like you a whole lot. And I'd like to be friends forever. Heck I'll marry you if you ask." Dwayne said smiling.

"Oh shut up Mr Teffa, I can't marry a man who has eyes for another woman. Don't worry... you are going to be the big brother I never had." Sky said as she extended her pinky. Best friends forever?"

"Wait hold on boss I'm older than you? I thought you just have this baby look. And there's no other woman Ms Sky. Soma is just a friend.

" Don't worry Dwayne, you'll find out soon. And You are thirty plus Dwayne. I'm not thirty yet." She said as she waved her hand at him

"Oh" Dwayne said. Remembering her pinky was still wait. He extended his hand but he couldn't reach her.

Sky smiled as she watched him. Let's see if you won't move slug. She said to herself.

Eventually Dwayne had to move closer and took her pinky in his. "BFF"

At around 2:00am. Dwayne woke up to a sound. And he felt the bed move a bit. Remembering he wasn't alone, he stood up immediately and moved closer to Sky. She was moving in her sleep and she was crying. Worried. Dwayne shook her. "Sky you are ok. It's just a dream, you are not alone." She still didn't wake, if anything she cried more and started mumbling words he couldn't understand.

"Mena, Mena, Mena!" he shook her more and wiped the tears from her face.

Sky woke up in a daze. "My baby, my baby! " She said hugging her tummy.

Dwayne didn't know what to do, it must be a bad dream. "You are fine Mena and so is sweetpea. It was just a dream. He hugged her and helped her lay down then he spooned her. He didn't know where to place his hand so he placed it gently on her baby b.u.mp.

"Ms Sky, are you alright?" He asked

Embarra.s.sed Sky wiped the tears off her face. " I'm fine...it was just a dream. Thank you." She was so caught up in her emotions that she didn't notice Dwayne was holding her until her baby kicked.

Dwayne froze as he felt something move in her stomach. That must be the baby. It was incredible, to feel a life in a woman's womb. He placed his hand gently again. And this time, the baby kicked harder.

"Wow does it always do that?".

Smiling Sky replied him. " Yeah she's like that most times except she's sleeping or not in the mood to move." Sky carried his hand and placed it on the spot where the baby was resting.

Surprised Dwayne removed his hand.

"Why is it so strong there?"

"That's cause he/she decided to rest there." Sky smiled at his reaction. He must not know he's still hugging her.

She didn't know how long they stayed like that but she woke up two hours later in his arms. She removed his hand from her body and stoop up quietly. Hungry, she went in search of food.

Dwayne had a strange dream, that he was getting married, but he couldn't see the face of the lady. He tried to check if Ms Sky was doing ok, but she wasn't there. He opened his eyes, she must be in the toilet. He waited for a few minutes and yet nothing.

"Ms Sky?" He called out. He stood up and checked the toilet but she wasn't there. He left her room in search of her. He saw her panicking in the kitchen. She looked angry and sad....like she just received a bad news. "Sky?" He called out to her.
