The One I've Loved 27 A Rainy Day

After the completion of the compet.i.tions , we left around six in the evening . I sat in the first seat near window which was behind the driver's seat and put my bag in another seat beside me .

Everybody were tired , n.o.body was in a mood play or talk , they wanted to take rest .Veronica sat with another girl as she didn't was to sit in first seat . I leaned back and looked outside .

The school we went was situated in hilly area , it was near a village . Even though that school was near to a village it is one of the famous school in our country .

It was raining heavily , the earthy smell of the rain and the glittering sound of rain drops when falling on the window made me fall in love with that place and with the climate .

I don't know when I fell asleep but when I woke up I felt a soft hand in my hands and my head rested on that person's shoulder . I was holding that person's hand . I half opened my sleepy eyes , it was dark . I was not able to see who it was . A vehicle with head lights on pa.s.sed through us due to which I realised who it was .

It was Austin .

My heart skipped a beat .

Why was I sleeping on his shoulder and why was I holding his hand? , I didn't understand what happend , why was I so careless. I shouldn't have slept . ThankG.o.d I woke up and the lights were off .

I slowly removed my hands from his and distanced myself from him .

My heart started to beat faster , I was not able to see his face clearly but I could see that he was in sound sleep . After few minutes , a person who was sitting beside driver switched on a light which was dim but in that light I was clearly able to see his charming face . I leaned back and turned my head towards him and stared at his sleeping face .

I heard someone talking at the back and laughing which was disturbing . He moved a little and immediately I looked at the window .

Did you sleep well ?, I heard him asking me in a sleepy voice .

I nodded with a yes and turned my head to the window .

I was looking outside trying not be show my face which turned into red due to what happened a while ago .

Austin went to the back seat and sat with his friend who called him to come back .

I was dropped near my house . I reached home around nine , when my parents were about to have their dinner .

How was your day sweetheart , my mother asked me after giving me a gla.s.s of water .

It was good mom , I replied .

How was the compet.i.tion ?, my dad asked .

Oh , it was great dad , I was satisfied with my performance , I said .

My mother kissed me on my forehead and told me to get fresh and come down to have my dinner .

All those little moments I spent with him are the most beautiful memories I've got in my life . Those are the memories I cherish the most . He had no idea how much important he was in my life . His presence was enough to make me smile .
