After Adrian agreed to use his Settlement Creation Token on the village, Rogar and the villagers finally stopped kneeling.

Then, Adrian asks the village's information in detailed.

The village did not have a name. But people from other places usually called this village with the same name as the nearby bay, which was called the Merlin Bay.

Total population is exactly 74 people. However, 13 people were killed during the beetle's stampede earlier. Thus, leaving 61 souls left. Besides human, members of other race like wolfman, kobold, fox people, cat people, and orcs also lived here too, they co-exist together, peacefully.

The resources around the village seem to be unsurprisingly abundant.

A small logging camp has been set up in the outskirts of the southeast forest. The fertile land south of the village was used as a farm that mainly produces grain and other variety of random vegetables. While a copper mine and a quarry existed just south of the farmland, situated near a rocky cliff next to the forest. However, because the villagers didn't have much need for copper, they rarely visited the mine.

There is a crude salt pan at the beach nearby, but its production quant.i.ty is measle and the salt's quality is obviously weren't good enough. The village, in addition, did not possess any form of animal husbandry. They do keep dozens of chickens before, but now all of them also already died because of the beetle's attack.

Aside from that, the village did not have any specialties or uniqueness.

Adrian thinks these local villager's lives are too simple. Even though they have money, they did not have much chance of using it. Most of the economic transaction was done via bartering.

The village, in fact, did have contacts and trades with other neighboring villages in the island's northern area, but it's inconsistent and weren't happened frequently. Sometimes, a merchant came from the mainland by s.h.i.+p once every month to exchange salts and woods with stuff that the villager's needed such as smoked meat, bronze tools, clothes and many more.

Most of the villagers work as farmers, loggers, and fisherman. Some are hunters, who mainly hunt games in the forest.

These people shared almost everything they have with their fellow villagers. Not only that, they didn't even get paid for doing their job. It could be said that the villager's life is essentially socialism at it's finest.

But every one of them is diligent and hard-worker.

After knowing the information, Adrian contemplates while holding his chin, 'It's gonna be harder than I thought...'

He needs to create a very concrete long-term plan once he restores the village.

***

Adrian, Zilong and the villagers start moving towards the center of the village. Adrian is holding the Settlement Creation Token on his right hand.

He gazes at the token for a while, before he bit his finger and smeared his blood on the token.

[Attention! You have used the Settlement Creation Token (Mythical). Do you want to create the settlement in this location? Yes/No]

"Yes."

[Do you want to a.s.sign a proxy? Yes/No]

There is no need for proxy at all, so Adrian chooses "No."

[Processing....]

[Attention! There is already an existing settlement in this location. Incorporating and merging the settlement. Please wait....]

[Creating the settlement...]

The token in Adrian's hand letting out a very intense and warm light that soon enveloped the entire village.

The faint sound of screaming and gasping came from the villagers behind him as they were startled by the event. Everyone presents could only squint and closed their eyes due to the blinding lights.

Not long, outlines of buildings being erected start to emerge instantly one by one within the village.

The light finally subsides after 5 minutes or so. Adrian, Zilong and the villagers began opening their eyes slowly.

They saw several new buildings that originally did not exist suddenly had appeared out of nowhere. The chief's manor that used to be crude and simple, become bigger and its appearances were filled with intricate and exquisite design. The village's muddy road has turned into a clean and flawless dirt road.

Mix feelings of shocked, awed, surprised, happiness, and a little bit of fear is creeping on every villager's heart. Rogar's mouth was agape as he stared at the village that he has been the chief of for the last 20 years had suddenly become so unrecognizable.

Ding!!!

[All basic buildings have been completed...]

[Attention! The settlement is still unnamed. Do you want to name it? Yes/No]

"Yes."

[Please name the settlement]

'What name should I choose, hmm?' Adrian tried recollecting a perfect name from his memories.

He finally got a name that came from some earth's fantasy book after thinking about it for a while. Hence, he said, "Seastar."

[Do you confirm to use the name of Seastar? Yes/No]

"Yes... Yes." Adrian became impatient after being asked for so many times.

[Registering the name.... ]

[System Notification: Settlement has been successfully established. Territory management windows are now available to access]

[System Notification: Seastar Village has received 5,000 units of food, 1,000 units of wood, 1,000 units of stone, 1,000 units of copper ore, 100 gold coins]

The light enveloping the village had disappeared entirely. While the token in Adrian's hand stopped glittering and completely vanished. And the atmosphere around the village is returning to normal.

[System Notification: New profession (Knight) is available. Do you want to change the profession? Yes/No]

It looks like Adrian had met the requirement for a new profession. This profession has better stat bonus for combat. So, he didn't need thinking about it twice, he immediately agreed to change.

[System Notification: Congratulations. You have been conferred a n.o.bility t.i.tle (Landed Knight). You are awarded n.o.bility Insignia, 500 System EXP, $5,000 System Dollar, and permanent +0.2 Strength, +0.1 Intelligence]

He was puzzled about why did he get a sudden new profession and a knight n.o.bility t.i.tle, he could only ask the system.

According to her, in order to meet the requirement for knight profession, a person must absolutely have a combat type profession. It doesn't matter whether they were a soldier, a warrior, an adventurer, or a hunter, as long it is a combat profession.

On top of that, they need to be knighted or at least, they need to own territory. Once they have changed their profession to the knight, they will be automatically conferred a knight n.o.bility t.i.tle.

If they were knighted and they didn't have a territory, their n.o.bility t.i.tle would be simply called Knight.

And if they have the same case as Adrian, in which they own territory and not getting knighted, they will still be conferred the t.i.tle of Landed Knight. It means a knight who owns a territory.

Both Knight and Landed Knight are the lowest n.o.bility t.i.tle.

If Adrian didn't change his profession into a knight, he only will be regarded as normal territory's magistrate.

In summary, it's twisted feudalism on steroid.

[System Notification: Quest "Create a settlement" is completed. You are awarded 5,000 System EXP and $50,000 System Dollar.]

'Muahaha... This is excellent.' Adrian laughed inwardly as the reward he got is really not bad at all.

Adrian nodded in satisfaction at his stat.

Next, he decides to check the new territory management windows. There, there are several sub-windows such as territory stat, politics, economic, military, building construction, culture, industry and education. Both politics and military were locked, probably because Seastar is still just a small non-influential territory and it also didn't have any form of military organization yet.

Adrian clicks on the stat.

--------------------------------------------

Adrian's n.o.bility t.i.tle had shown it's effect already, looking from the territory high order. But aside from that the stat is understandably low, Adrian didn't mind it. The village was established not long ago, after all. But as expected from the village that was created using Mythical grade Settlement Creation Token, the buff that it has received is unbelievable.

Seastar Village presently is an independent territory that only belonged to Adrian. It was acknowledged by the world's will herself. And it's villagers have become Adrian's responsibility.

Everything depends on him from now on, whether Seastar would prosper beyond measure in the future or not. But Adrian could feel that the village's future is really promising.

***

The night has come.

After touring and inspecting the new face of the village, as well as stopping the villagers from kowtowing and wors.h.i.+ping to him again. Adrian is resting on a wooden couch inside the newly renovated, former's chief manor. It was called the Lord's Manor now.

He wasn't alone, Zilong and Rogar accompanied him.

Outside the manor, the situation already became so quiet. Several people could be seen near the village's entrance as they have been ordered by Adrian to take turns on patrolling and guarding the village, just in case. The village at its fragile moments currently, being extra careful is mandatory.

As most of the houses were already destroyed, and Adrian wants to tear down the rest for the rebuilding project. He relocated the villagers temporarily to Community's Hall. The hall's s.p.a.cious interior could hold at least 200 people, so it's fine to be filled by only 50 people or so.

All of them is already sleeping by now. They were lightly comforted earlier as they enjoy a giant feast of bear's meat, which is exactly the bear that had been killed by Adrian this morning. Hopefully, the feast could lessen their trauma for a bit. Adrian needs most of them to be energetic in rebuilding the village tomorrow.

Back inside the manor.

Adrian, Zilong, and Rogar are in the middle of the discussion.

"So basically, tomorrow we're gonna start by cleaning up the beetle's remains first. Then, we would construct a simple wooden fence around the village to enhance its protection. As for the blueprint you can leave that to me... I'll provide it to both of you in the morning."

Zilong and Rogar nodded to Adrian's words.

At that moment, Rogar starts to ask, "But lord. What about the villager's houses?"

Adrian smiled in response, he knew that Rogar is worried about the villagers. He replied in a.s.suring tone, "I've already got plans for that. We must rebuild the village with proper planning. Consequently I'm gonna split this village into several districts. The villager's houses will be located at the residential district. As for the exact location, you're gonna have to wait till tomorrow too."

Hearing that, Rogar earnestly nodded.

"I have a suggestion, milord." it was Zilong turn to spoke.

"Let's hear it, then." Adrian beckons Zilong to continue.

"As we cannot be inactive with all the threat surrounding the village. Please allow me to pick and choose, let's say.... 10 men in order to train them and forming a full-time militia unit. How about it?"

"That's not a bad idea... Alright, quickly implement it once the fence is completed. I also gave you the seat of Seastar militia leader, Zhao. The job is yours." Adrian gave Zilong a green light.

"Thank you, milord. I won't let you down." Zilong cupped his hand as he gave his grat.i.tude.

Adrian yawn as he spoke, "Is there anything else that need to discuss?"

Both Zilong and Rogar shake their head as there was really nothing left to discuss.

"Since it's like that. Let's get back to our room, shall we? We will get a busy day tomorrow."

And so all three of them returned to their respective room. It has been decided that those three will be living in the Lord's Manor. The manor is a two-floor building. Zilong and Rogar's room are on the first floor while Adrian's is on the second floor.

Adrian entered his room. Inside the room, there are a single double-person bed, several wardrobes, some kind of office desk, three windows and a shelf full of books. The Lord's manor came with its own furniture, so all of this wasn't from Rogar's old manor.

Adrian sat on the office desk and start buying several basic skills and manuals. In the end, he only has $17,000 System Dollar left. Next, he opened the territory building construction.

Earlier, he had found that the territory building construction window did not actually work like in strategy games as he initially thought. Where one could build a building automatically if he had the resources.

The Settlement Creation Token base building is an exception.

Territory Building Construction window is essentially some kind of a construction drawing tool making. It could generate a very detailed drawing of a building that Adrian wanted to build. The generated drawings would be sent to Adrian's inventory.

But the amount of available building drawing in the window is limited by the settlement's level, culture and the system's level. Adrian could also buy drawings from the shop, the drawing that has been purchased will be available in the Territory Building Construction window.

But again most of those drawings are still locked and their price is expensive. It's still far for Adrian to think about them.

Currently, Adrian is examining the simple fence drawings that have been generated.

--------------------------

Simple Wooden Fence

Basic fortification, Weak defense.

Material: wood: 20 units/100 meters.

---------------------------

3 km long fences are already big enough because the village's northern side didn't need a fence as the river already protected it. So the fences only need to be erected in half circle with the village in the middle.

The 3 km long fences project would require a total of 600 woods.

Adrian also did not forget to generate several other drawings for the villager's houses, public bathroom, and barracks.

But according to his calculation, he didn't have enough resources to complete all of those buildings. What he lacked are mostly wood and stone. That is why, once the fences are completed, he would immediately order the villagers to start gathering woods and stone.

Fortunately, he doesn't have to worry about food for now.

Adrian yawned heavily. He decides to go to bed and sleep.

This is his first night in another world. Thinking about it again, this day has been an eventful day for him. He wonder what might happen tomorrow.
