Horn Devil Kingdom, Devil Continent.
The Horn Devil was a prosperous kingdom, and there was was always rush in the coastal cities. But today was a special day, and there was even the royal guards and the military present. They had closed down the dock and even chased away the merchants, who were told that the dock would only be opened after half a day. Although a lot of people were unhappy, they shut up after they saw the royal guards glaring at them. The royal guards were the elites of the Mage Tower of the kingdom, and had mastered various dangerous miasma spells.
The expeditionary s.h.i.+p of the kingdom slowly arrived near the dock. The soldiers were quick and immediately moved the large boxes inside the s.h.i.+p onto a huge cart. The exhausted soldiers laughed and cheered when they returned to the familiar land, but shut up when they saw their commander.
"Alright, you guys are dismissed. You are granted three days leave." their commander, Tengoku Yokusei waved his hand and said. The soldiers were smart and didn't immediately dispersed. They followed the cart containing the goods and only left later.
Yokusei sat on a luxurious carriage provided to him, with his maid Harumi by his side. He occasionally teased the beauty while watching the scene change from the window. Time pa.s.sed and a magnificent building came into view. He watched the royal palace and smiled as he remembered his uncle, the Horn Devil King.
The King had and easy going personality, and his favorite words were 'Believe me' and 'Trust me'. Many times he would keep spouting nonsense or even things that never happened and even exaggerated stuff.
He washed up and directly went into the throne room. The guards were familiar with him and only did a basic check.
The Horn Devil King, Tengoku Ichigo, was sitting on the throne and the room was empty, except for a few servants. He was pot bellied and was wearing a luxurious jacket.
"Ha ha ha.... Little kid ! Believe me, I knew you would arrive today !"
Yokusei almost rolled his eyes hearing that.
"Yes, uncle. The Gateway Continent was extremely dangerous and the beast there were powerful and intelligent. For example-"
The king interrupted him. "Alright, leave that for later."
He waved his hand at the servants, and they left the throne room. When the king was sure the servants left, he said to his nephew.
" *sigh* What should I tell you, boy ? Trust me, every girl in the royal palace is just crazy about him. If not for my self control, I would've become like you !...."
He kept on and on about his ridiculous and exaggerated stories as they roamed the palace. The servants and soldiers guarding the palace knew the king's habits and sent a pitiful glance.
"...bla bla bla.... Trust me, the wife of the Dragon Emperor had fallen in love with me.....bla bla bla... Believe me, it was only when the servants gossiped did I realize that there was a celestial phenomenon at the time of my birth...."
The king didn't seem to get tired and kept talking enthusiastically. His spit nearly flew out of his mouth and he didn't even require a moment to think of a new topic.
Yokusei caressed his forehead and thought of an excuse to run away. Suddenly the king shut up and stopped talking. A woman in the same luxurious clothes as the king appeared before them.
"Greetings, Aunt." Yokusei greeted respectfully.
The Queen nodded and looked at the pot bellied fellow. Unlike the unattractive king who looked like a middle aged otaku, the queen looked extremely young, almost like a teenager. Of course, it wasn't far from the truth. After the death of the old queen, the king had been alone for many years until he married the young queen. If people didn't know, they would think that they are father and daughter.
The king gave a coy smile and opened his mouth to speak. But the queen glared at him and immediately said.
"If you say 'believe me' or 'trust me' one more time ...."
He coughed and closed his mouth. Only he knew how terrible her temper was.
"You didn't tell him about his next mission, right ?" the queen asked as they walked towards a fountain.
"That... I was going to tell him...trust me.."
"You...!" the queen pointed at the pot bellied person angrily, and Yokusei had to hold his laughter. He knew that the queen wasn't one to chase after power, and genuinely loved his uncle. It was a wonder how she was fooled by him into a marriage.
The king coughed again and swiftly turned towards his nephew with a serious face.
"The Dragon b.a.s.t.a.r.ds have decided to cause trouble again in the Giant continent. They have somehow killed the experts of the King tribe, and are now supporting the Barbarian Tun tribe. You have to destroy the support the dragons send to them- whether it is weapons, medicines or anything, destroy them all !"
"That's all ?" Yokusei asked.
The pot bellied king and the teenage queen looked at each other. Finally the queen said.
"Follow me for your next objective."
She didn't wait for him and started walking, her long jacket which had similarity to a trench coat sashaying with the wind.
The fat man ogled at his wife. "Isn't her b.u.t.t great ? Believe me..."
Tengoku Yokusei was not even a single bit interested in his uncle's s.e.x life or his aunt's b.u.t.t. He quickly strode forward and followed the queen.
The palace was a huge place, and there were many rooms which served as offices for the royal family, for formal as well as informal meetings. She took him to her main office, where she usually worked everyday. Except for being a Queen, she was also a genius of the Mage Tower !

She sat on her chair and pa.s.sed him a map. The map was extremely crude with messy lines drawn all over.
"The goblin pirates have a myth about something known as 'One Seed', and those idiots are always searching for it. This is one of the maps the dragons are interested in right now. This is a popular map among the goblin pirates, and many think that the location of 'One Seed' is written on it. But if we try to decode it according to the comets in the skies ..."
the Queen handed him another map.
"... this is the location we get !"
Yokusei looked at the map. The Giant continent was neatly drawn and a circle was drawn covering an area.
"Although it seems like the dragons are trying to change the ruling party of the giants, their real purpose might be this place." she said with her fingers locked into each other.
They spoke about a few other things, and it was decided that he would leave a week later. It was almost night when he finished making his plan for his next mission. He ate up and went to his room. Tonight he decided to rest instead of lying between somebody's thighs.
After he slept, his door silently opened a little. Harumi watched him, and when she was sure that he was really asleep closed the door in disappointment.
This world didn't have stars, but it had a lot of comets which could be occasionally seen. Like always, they created beautiful spectacles in the sky.
It was a beautiful and silent night.
