"h.e.l.lo, is Emilia home?"

The elderly maid stared at the gorgeous young man standing in front of the doorway in a daze, her thin lips parted in awe.

So…So handsome!

Standing in front of the Yimo's mansion dressed in a set of casual clothing with her short hair tied up in a mini ponytail, was none other than Mimi.

The head maid of the Yimo mansion somewhat felt that the young man before her was too good looking - her old heart almost stopped.

Only when she saw the young man standing there with a silent smile, did she recall his previous question.

"Um, may I know who's asking?"

Mimi laughed softly. "Of course, how rude of me. I'm Andras, Emilia's boss."

After processing her words, did the maid express a look of surprise.

He was Andras! That Andras? And more importantly, he came personally just to see their young Miss?

"She hasn't shown up to work for the past few days, and I was hoping everything was alright. All her colleagues are worried about her." Mimi's expression was one of concern. "Is she home right now?"

Breaking from her trance, the old woman nods her head. "Indeed she is! She's in her room right now. The poor thing hasn't been feeling well lately, but I'm sure she'd be delighted to know you personally came here to check on her!"

She looked behind her as if someone were watching and leaned in close to Mimi with an amused smile.

"To be honest Mr. Andras, Emilia really admires you. There's not a day where she doesn't talk about you or work hard to please you. I have to say I'm quite thankful for her being around someone like you, it's truly changed her for the better." The old maid said warmly.

Mimi smiled, however, a dark glint flashed within her eyes, going unnoticed by the grinning elderly maid.

"Come in, come in, I'll take you to see Emilia right now!"

Ushered inside, Mimi politely bowed her head and followed the small old woman in. Mimi somewhat felt bitter upon seeing the mansion's interior.

Tall ceilings, bright marbled floors, and a descending broad staircase in the center of the s.p.a.cious living room. She couldn't help but be reminded of her times living in the Hirogori manor.

That and the fact rich people had it all.

Hmph! She preferred her small cramped apartment anyway! And she didn't mind the occasional c.o.c.kroaches that appeared either! She needed new friends anyway!

If Alec heard her thoughts, he'd sure cough up blood and prepare to become a monk right then and there.

Following the maid up the broad stairs, Mimi took the time to admire the scenery until they stopped in front of a large door.

Gently, the elderly maid knocked on the door. "Ms. Emilia, are you awake? There's someone here to see you."

A few seconds had pa.s.sed before the sound of Emilia's hoa.r.s.e voice was heard on the other side.

"Tell them to go away, I'm not in the mood to see anyone."

"Ms. Emilia..." The old woman frowned.

Just as she was about to argue with the girl, a soft touch on her shoulder stopped her. Glancing to the side, the elderly blushed as she stared at Mimi's bright and gentle smile.

"I can take it from here," Mimi spoke softly. "Thank you…"

"Ah, Nanny Hua,"

"Mm, thank you, Nanny Hua. I'll speak to her for a few minutes if that's alright with you."

Shaking her head rapidly, Nanny Hua smiles. "Of course, of course! Not at all!"

Nanny Hua opens Emilia's door before quickly stepping back. Bobbing her head in thanks, Mimi walks in - not forgetting to close it behind her.

Watching Mimi's disappearing figure, Nanny Hua giggles delightfully and scurries away.

Inside the room, Mimi takes in the lavish interior of the young girl's room. Surprisingly, it wasn't the image she pictured in her head. When she saw Emilia Yimo, she pictured pink, frilly and flaunting, but what she saw was much more subtle and simplistic.

The room was decorated with high-quality sets of light yellow and white furniture. The wide and tall windows were covered by thick white curtains, dimming the room's light.

After a minute of admiring the room, on the huge, soft bed, the girl beneath the covers made a disgruntled noise.

"Nanny Hua, I told you no! I don't want to see anyone right now! Just give them something to compensate and tell them to leave!" Emilia's voice spoke from under the covers.

From under the covers, Emilia could hear the sound of her door opening and the presence of another being.

She wanted to be alone, was that too much to ask?

For a moment, she heard nothing but silence until the faint sound of footsteps walking toward her bed sounded through her ears.

Feeling her bed dip, Emilia knew someone was sitting on the side of her bed.

After a while, Emilia felt it was somewhat strange Nanny Hua wasn't speaking after so long. She could feel the other person's intense gaze and hear their gentle breaths, yet they hadn't uttered a single word since they entered.

Feeling irritated by the silence and intense stare on her, Emilia flung the blankets off her head and glared at the figure.

"What's the big deal?! I just want to be alone, is that too…"

Emilia froze upon identifying the figure in front of her.

Because of her abrupt actions, Emilia's face was only inches from Mimi's causing the girl to look deeply into her green, dazzling eyes.

The girl's long, curly golden hair was currently frizzled and disoriented from being under the covers, her silver eyes staring widely at Mimi in shock.

From close up, Mimi could see the slight redness and puffiness around her large eyes - clear signs the girl had been crying for hours.

Softening her gaze, Mimi giggles. "Glad to see you're not too ill, Emilia."

Staring at her blonde hair draped lazily on her shoulder, Mimi picked up a lock of the girl's hair and twirled it lightly between her fair fingers.

"This new look of yours, I have to say it's quite cute on you."

When she heard those words, Emilia was stunned speechless. Only after processing Mimi's words and noticing her hair was being playfully played with did Emilia finally react.

"No!" She squeals while covering her face with the covers quickly. "Go away!"

Startled, Mimi laughed softly. "Go away? My, my, that's quite rude, I am your guest am I not?"

Emilia was silent for a few seconds, quietly recollecting herself under the covers.

He was here! In her house! In her room! And he saw her like this!

At that moment Emilia wished she could crawl in a deep, wretched hole to die.

However, recalling what happened with the girl she saw at Andras's apartment, a sharp pain stung her heart.

That's right…that girl…

"W…Why are you here?" Emilia's voice became slightly hoa.r.s.e.
