Lin Fan eventually started, the usage of his arm was incredibly painful, even worse, It's his right hand, the dominant one. But he pushed through, this bit of pain was still toleratable.

"Mhm? what's the matter boss"

"You tell me what's the matter, Is this proper cutting?"

Lin Fan looked at his sliced up vegetables and couldn't help rubbing his head from embarra.s.sment, they truly looked like a pile of mess, even the slices were uneven.

"Sorry boss, I never really did any real cooking,"

old w.a.n.g raised a brow "If you don't know real cooking what brought you here? to mess up my business? I might be a small stall but I am known for good food around here and I take pride In it, therefore, If you're going to work here, you're doing it right"

Lin Fan looked at old w.a.n.g not knowing what to say.

"Let me ask you a question, do you see anyone here other than the two of us?"

Lin Fan shook his head.

"As you see, I have no one working under me, I do everything here, from cutting to cooking, I thought you were a good kid and decided to hire you, thinking you can be of help. I am getting old and doing everything isn't as easy as it was, but that doesn't mean I want to drop my standards,"

"I can learn boss, but I really need this job,"

"sigh, alright let me teach you, do you know the Julienne cut ?"

"Alright, give me the knife"

old w.a.n.g took the knife and started explaining.

"The Julienne cut is basically cutting into long thin strips, just like this", old w.a.n.g hand started dancing around the chopping board, his cuts were precise, even and quick, it was hard to spot a difference between each slice, comparing his own with this was...embarra.s.sing

old w.a.n.g handed Lin Fan the knife, "now, try it yourself"

trying the new cutting method he learned, he was slow, but he still got the shape down.

old w.a.n.g looked at Lin Fan working, 'Not bad',

Lin Fan glanced outside and saw that the tables outside were getting occupied.

"It's about twelve, customers are flocking. Haha, get ready, it will be a long day" exclaimed old w.a.n.g while patting Lin Fan's back,

"arghhh, I'm beat, my hand hurts like h.e.l.l"

"Haha, that's nothing kid, all you're doing is cutting vegetables. did you see me making those noodles, that's the real pain, hand-pulled noodles are one of the most tiresome ones to make," said old w.a.n.g while putting two bowls of noodles in front of them.

"You looked cool making them though, that swirl and pull motion seems difficult"

"Difficult is an understatement, I have been doing this for more than 10 years, and I can't say I became a Master "

Lin Fan felt speechless at old w.a.n.g's nonchalant att.i.tude, 'at least behave like an elder', but honestly, he liked old w.a.n.g's personality, acting like himself without a care, there was this one customer that didn't like the prices and kept complaining, old w.a.n.g simply told him to stay if he had the money, if not, he can simply leave, the man obviously left with anger in his eyes, nonetheless, old w.a.n.g didn't give a flying f*ck.

"Finish quickly, I only close for half an hour to have lunch,"

Lin Fan was returning home feeling incredibly tired. it had to be understood that this was his first time doing any proper work, and to top that, his injury restricted his ability to work.

hearing his phone ringing, he took it out to take a look and found out it was Chaun w.a.n.g.

"Hey bro, Is everything going well?"

"Haha, going well? let me ask you this, If one day you fell down a mountain onto a forest and dislocated a shoulder due to the fall, will everything be going well then ?"
