Evangeline slammed the door before Eric could say anything else.

She didn't know what was happening to her.

The moment she realized that they were alone inside her unit, her heart began to beat erratically causing her to talk more than necessary while her feet felt uneasy that she wanted to run around.

She calmed her beating heart and looked at her adorable pets who were also looking up towards her, asking for food.

"Don't worry. There's nothing too much about this. I'm just returning the favor." Evangeline kept on mumbling to herself as she walked towards her room to take a bath and order food.

After an hour, Eric went out from the guest room with his clothes attached to his body. He didn't like wearing someone else's clothes. Thus, he first washed his wet garments and dried them before taking a bath.

After the bath, his clothes were still somewhat dumped even after drying them. But luckily, there was an ironing board, so his outfit dried in no time.

By the time he went out, Evangeline was already seated at the dining table were various foods were laid out in vibrant colors and aromas that was enough to have one salivating circulated in all corners. It felt like someone was celebrating from the sheer amount of food present on the table. And judging from the exquisite cuisine, Eric would bet his life that they were not cheap.

"You sure took your time."

Eric's line of thought was disturbed by Evangeline's soft sarcastic voice. His eyes traveled from the food towards the alluring woman who was now wearing a simple s.h.i.+rt and shorts.

In fact, the short was too short as he could practically see those smooth, creamy white thighs and that round perky bottom cheeks while her dump curly lavender hair was alluringly freely falling on her back. Eric wasn't worried about if he was late or not, rather – it's really dangerous for us to be alone!

Though Eric was confident with his self-control, but being tempted with a woman like Evangeline Heart, his restraint would gladly jump out of a window for her.

Eric breathed a heavy sigh as he began to picked his food in silence.

"Eric, you should try this. This is an autunitic wagyu meat. It melts in your mouth. And this… this is a black bone chicken, it's hard to breed and have lots of nutrition! And this...."

Evangeline kept going on and on as she served one food after another on Eric's plate. More like she shoved all the food present onto the poor man's dish.

Evangeline clasped her hand in delight. "Wait, I will get us a bottle of wine."

She abruptly stood up and turned around towards the bar counter.

Her dainty waist was swaying while her round soft bottom cheeks were temptingly peeking out from her short shorts, wiggling with each sway.

Eric didn't answer and continued to pet the big fluffy Alaskan malamute some more before he turned around when he smelled something – enticing.

Eric's pupils rounded when he saw Evangeline appeared on his side out of nowhere, pouring wine into his gla.s.s. Her body was slightly bent as some of her hair fell from her shoulders while her s.h.i.+rt stretched to accommodate her ample b.r.e.a.s.t.s.

Eric closed his eyes to savor the smell of her hair, but then he immediately straightened on his seat and turned towards Winter once more, trying to distract himself.

Evangeline inwardly smirked at the sight of the uncomfortable man.

It meant that she could entice a reaction from him.

Which is a good sign.

The two continued to eat in silence until their stomach was full. As Eric guessed, they couldn't finish the whole food!

"You should take the foods with you since I'm just going to throw it all out. You can reheat it once you're hungry."

Eric didn't argue. After all, he could save money and time on the idea. And the food was after all, delicious!

"Thank you." Eric helped Evangeline wrapped the food before the woman led him outside.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward after that. Eric didn't know what to say while Evangeline continuously looked at him as if studying his face.

"I'll go ahead." Finally, Eric turned around towards the elevator lobby, leaving the beauty behind who was still standing there in the doorway.

"Eric."

He turned around and looked at the girl. But Evangeline just stayed there without moving nor saying anything.

Eric slightly nodded, "see you tomorrow," then he left.

Moments pa.s.sed. Still, Evangeline stayed glued on her spot, a smile forming on her lips.

She was not exactly ignorant of her feelings. Though she didn't trust anyone completely, it didn't mean that she would deny what her heart wanted.

I want him.

Yes, she like Eric, but she won't admit it anytime soon.

She would get close to him, but she wouldn't get too close.

She would build a bridge to him, but she would not burn her escape route.

She didn't entirely trust him yet after all.

For now, I will enjoy this feeling.

Meanwhile, Eric had reached the bas.e.m.e.nt and suddenly thought of something.

My raincoat!

He hesitated for a moment, but then he decided to leave it be.

I only wish it stop raining outside.
