"Did you tell your mother you work here ?" Henry Asked
"No !you know her she is going scold me and I just want to help her so please don't tell her I will quit when school start," pleaded Walker
"Okay I will not tell her but why you practice secretly ?" asked Henry
"You know since my injury, she was scared and told me not to play again after what the doctor said about if the injury recurs, I will be a cripple, " answered Walker.
"do you think you could make a comeback ?" asked Henry.
"since both of my legs are still intact I will pursue my dream," responded Walker.
"it's good that you have the ambition and the will power but you aren't the same after your injury," said Henry.
"There is a lot of ways to play basketball, just because my athleticism dropped it doesn't mean my basketball career is over," said Walker.
"it's good that you still in good spirit. go on with your work," Henry said.
"Thanks for your help, you were always there where I need you the most," declared Walker.
"there is no need for that you are like my son I and your father are sworn brother, so there is no need to thank me," said Walker.
After his working hour finished, he went home, he changes his clothes and prepare the dinner table and warming the food and wait for his mother to arrive and have dinner together.
At 11 PM a woman in her late thirties with blond hair with fatigue written all over her face opens the door. when she walks in and she saw Walker waiting for her . then a warm smile appears on her face, she was Sophia Hamilton the mother of Walker
"Why did you stay up late?" Sophia said.
"I was waiting for you to eat dinner together," Walker said.
"I told that I was going to be late and don't wait for me to eat dinner, " Sophia said.
"Mom didn't I tell you to stop working overtime, how would I be able to eat when you are working overtime," Walker said.
" I know that you are sensible and doesn't want your mother to work overtime .but you are going to be a senior in high school and you know that the tuition of college is expensive, and don't worry your mother is not that fragile," stated Sophia.
" I could work part-time and earn money for my college tuition and, now that I'm healthy I could earn a sports scholars.h.i.+p," Said Walker.
"No!we talked about this Walker, I said no part-time job just focus on your studies and basketball is a big no you just recovered from your injury, I don't want you to put your life in risk it was a miracle that you are walking right now, " stated Sophia with her eyes start to get warty
"OK Mom I'm not going to work Part-time and I'm going to take care of myself I just want to help you because it is hard for me to see you every time be this late," Said Walker with a rea.s.suring look
"It's okay I know you are concerned about me but you should be more focused in your studies if you want me to be happy, now eat your dinner and go to bed," Sophie said with a smile after hearing his respond
'Sorry Mom for lying to you, but I will not give up basketball. As for the part-time job, I will quit when school starts,' Walker told himself.
After eating and helping his mother cleaning, he goes to his room.
the room was filled with posters for NBA Players like Lebron James, Kevin Durant and some of the well-known Players, as for his favorite team is the Detroit Pistons because it was the only team he could watch on TV because they only have cable at home, so he watches Detroit Pistons as he grows up.
Walker started stretching, and then he rested on his bed, and his eyes start to shut, and he slept quickly because of the training schedule that the system gave him was tough and that why he falls asleep immediately and while he was asleep some old memories start to surface in his dreamland.
