"Chris baby, it's time for breakfast,"
"I'm guessing this is my new mother," Chris guessed as he put on the clothes that was sitting on a chair nearby.
Chris then took a backpack that was lying next to his bed and went down. When he arrived at the dining room saw a beautiful woman that looked around 35 and a tall man who had the best beard Chris had ever seen.
'I have got to say. That beard looks like it takes a lot of time to groom,' Chris thought as he was getting more and more fascinated by the beard. "My dad here is awesome,'
"Chris, can you go put the plates in the kitchen on the table?" The woman asked.
"Yes mother," Chris said. But before he could start moving, the man stopped him.
"Don't for now son. Now, Rachel, this is the reason why we have to hire maids. You're doing the dishes. My son has to put down plates. We have money. We can hire some maids," The man said.
"Oh, Jerome, it's alright. The people cleaning our house once a week is perfectly enough. We don't need maids," Rachel said .
"But Rachel-" Jerome said, but stopped as Rachel glared at him. She then immediately smiled again. Chris then went to the kitchen and put the plates on the table. Without any more interruptions, everybody started to eat.
"Oh yes, Chris," Rachel said. "This is your senior year and you can't continue to skip school like this. Fortunately, we helped the school enough so that they can pardon it, but now we won't do that anymore. If you don't go to school, we'll force you to separate from that Mystery Gang you're in,"
"Mother, the gang is going to go to school again. We're going to settle down until we graduate! But can we please go mystery solving in Hotsville. I promise you that we won't leave the town and make sure my grades are at least a B or above. Can you just make sure that my attendance doesn't affect my graduation status?" Chris asked.
There was a bit of silence from Rachel.
"Alright then. As long as you're in Hotsville and you're maintaining good grades, we won't say anything. However, I'm going to ask all your teachers to notify me the day of tests so that you'll be going that day even if there are 50 mysteries," Rachel said sternly.
"Alright mother," Chris said. As he was finis.h.i.+ng up and putting his plate in the sink, he heard a honk.
"Alright mother, I think that's the gang. I'll be leaving for school now. Goodbye!" Chris said as he ran out the door.
"Jerome, I don't know if I want Chris to stay with that Mystery Gang anymore," Rachel said.
"Honey, it's alright. You know being in that Mystery Gang wasn't all too bad for our boy. He became more outgoing, wanting to know more, and to be honest, most of these positive traits he know have came from the Mystery Gang. I think it'll be alright to allow him to be with them,"
"But Barvard. He needs to go to Barvard,"
"Honey, he said he would go to Barvard if we can let the rest of his friends go. Honestly, it won't be that hard. I believe most of them are rich enough to let their kids go there and the one that is not rich enough is smart enough to go there even without our help. For the rich ones, we'll just give them a little boost," Jerome said with a smile.
...
When Chris went outside he saw the Mystery Machine, a colorful van that was painted in blue with a horizontal green line. Both sides had the words Mystery Machine painted on it. On the front of the van was a tire carrier with a flower in the middle. A blond teen honked on the machine.
"Hurry up, Chris we're going to be late for school," The blond teen said.
"I'm coming Fred," Chris said as he hurried up into the van.
He sat in the back where he saw a tall skinny teen and a big brown dog in the back.
"Hey Chris. Like we got you the deluxe pastrami, meat lover hamburger from Jumborino! s...o...b..and I already had 2 each, but like we had to save the last one for you," The skinny teen said as he took out a huge hamburger with all the meat that one could ever imagine with a cheese sliding off the meat.
"Yeah, hehehehehe. 2 already," The dog said.
"Thanks s.h.a.ggy. Thanks s...o...b..," Chris said. He looked at the hamburger and was kind of disgusted by it, but suddenly his stomach started to rumble.
"Like your stomach is rumbling. Hurry up and eat it before s...o...b..and I eat it instead," s.h.a.ggy said.
"Alright I guess," Chris ate a bite of the burger and it was like a switch flipped in him and he ate the entire burger in two bites.
"Oh goodness, that is delicious," Chris said. When he turned around, he saw two girls sitting next to Fred.
"Hey Daphne," Chris said.
"Hey Chris. Nice outfit you got going there," Daphne said.
"Yeah you too. Like always the purple always goes great on you," Chris said.
"Haha, yeah that's why it's my favorite color!" Daphne said.
Chris then turned to the other girl.
"Hey Velma," Chris said in a bit weirdly.
"Hey Chris," Velma said with a smile.
"So how's your morning going?" Chris asked trying to start a conversation.
"Well, it was going great until I see 3 people with monstrous appet.i.te finish 5 of those disgusting looking burgers," Velma said.
"Hey, like that Meat Lover Burger is the top of all burgers. It is what all other burgers strive to be. Good quality, good price, and-"
"A good source of having a heart disease," Velma said. "Chris you know this already. Don't do it when you already know that having that much meat is bad for you,"
"Don't worry Velma. Besides the three of us eat a lot of everything and not just meat. Besides, s.h.a.ggy, s...o...b.., and I have been eating like that for a long time and there's been no heart arrhythmias, dilated cardiomyopathy, congenital heart defects, or-"
"Alright enough I get," Velma said. "I'm just worried that the three of you might end up in a grave because of your diet,"
"*Gulp* In a grave?!" s.h.a.ggy asked in a frightened tone.
"Grave?!" s...o...b.. repeated.
"Guys now stop fighting. Look we're almost at school now," Fred said as he arrived at a huge gothic style buidling.
"Well, here we are. Hotsville High School. It's our senior year and my parents said I can't do any mystery solving unless I maintain a good grade.. And they won't let me leave Hotsville," Fred said.
"Well isn't that a coincidence. Mine too," s.h.a.ggy said.
"Me three," Daphne said.
"Me four," Chris said.
"Me five. Hehehehehe," s...o...b.. said as he put his hand over his mouth to laugh.
"Well, my parents already know that my grades are high enough to enter college already so I'm fine with that," Velma said. "However, she won't let me leave Hotsville as well. Well, I'm sure that all of us can convince our parents if the mysteries require us to leave Hotsville,"
"Well, the most I can do is the neighboring towns and a little more. Any more and it has to be either in summer vacation or I have to get in all my cla.s.ses," Chris said.
"Well, you're smart anyways so I'm sure you can do that," Fred said. "Well anyways, let's go in. We have cla.s.ses to go to. It's already 7:58,"
The gang left the van and hurried to their first cla.s.ses.
