As soon as s.h.a.ggy and s...o...b.. heard the magic words, they started dumping everything onto their plate .

"s...o...b.. this has got to be the best night ever!" s.h.a.ggy said .

"Reah," s...o...b.. said while licking his lips .

Once they got food stacking on their plate, the two of them started eating like no tomorrow .

Michael looked at them and started to laugh .

"You know I even cooked for a food eating contest before and all those guys probably can't beat these two even if they all teamed up," Michael said .

"Well, sometimes we wonder if they are gluttony incarnate," Chris said jokingly .

"I mean you're part of that group too Chris," Velma said while rolling her eyes .

Chris looked at his plate and he noticed that there was just as much food on his plate as s.h.a.ggy and s...o...b.. .

"Well I guess I'm also gluttony incarnate," Chris said which made everyone laugh .

The dinner was quite pleasant . If it just wasn't for the fact that Velma was too into Michael, Chris would've been perfectly content with the dinner .

"Well I suppose you can't have everything," Chris said . When dinner was over, all the trays and plates were taken away and it was time for dessert .

There was cheesecakes, tiramisus, puddings, parfaits, and coffee jelly .

"I didn't make any of this dessert, but the chefs that are in there are all extremely good and are only a bit behind me in terms in skills . I'm sure that you'll enjoy every single one," Michael said as he started enjoying some coffee jelly .

s.h.a.ggy and s...o...b.. stood up to get some cheesecakes, but before their hands could touch the plate, the lights were turned off .

"Hey, is this part of the dinner Uncle Tom?" s.h.a.ggy asked .

"No, it's not," Uncle Tom said . "A power outage? This should not have happened,"

Suddenly, they heard a loud whoos.h.i.+ng noise .

"Uh what was that?" s.h.a.ggy asked .

Fog started to come out and after a couple of seconds Chris could not see anybody .

"Guys is everyone alright?" Chris asked .

"Yeah," He heard a variety of voices saying the exact same answer . However, he soon heard a different answer .

"Who are you?! What's going on?! AH- AHHHH!" He heard Jacob's voice screaming out .

After it was silent and they heard a loud thud . The fog soon disappeared with Jacob along with it .

"Jacob!" Uncle Tom called out . "Jacob, if this is your idea of a prank, it's not very funny!"

However, no matter how much Uncle Tom called out and tried to play it off, no one answered .

Soon a waiter from the outside came inside the VIP room .

"Sir, there was a lot of fog in the buffet and the people are starting to panic . What are we going to do?"

"Did- Did he really disappear out of thin air?" Daphne asked .

"Yeah and there was no sound of the door opening or closing," Fred said .

"How could he just vanish . There wasn't a sound of the door opening or closing and that's the only way in and out!" Velma said .

"Could he have been spirited away?" Uncle Tom suddenly asked .

"What are you talking about Uncle Tom," s.h.a.ggy said . "Ghosts don't exist . . . Right?"

"I don't believe in them too, but there is a legend about the land that I built my hotel on . Some time ago, all the land here was owned by an extremely wealthy family . Suddenly, the businesses started failing leaving the family nothing but the land . However, even that was taken away as they went bankrupt and had to sell the land . The family apparently committed ma.s.s suicide and left behind ghosts of regret . Of course, I don't believe in that ghost nonsense so I bought this land, but if the legends are true then . . . " Uncle Tom didn't finish his sentence .

"Hey Tom, don't believe in that nonsense . I'm sure that there's something else going on," Michael said . "We'll find Jacob soon,"

"I hope so," Uncle Tom said . He then turned to the gang "I'm going to go out so that I can do some announcement to the rest of the customers about this whole fog nonsense,"

"I'll go with you," Michael said .

The two of them left the room with the servers leaving only the gang in the room .

"What do you think guys?" Fred asked as soon as no one was left .

"It doesn't seem right . But that ghost story . . . " Velma suddenly had an idea and got her book . She started reading the summary in the back .

"A wealthy family in the late 1900s face their biggest challenge yet . Will they successfully overcome their financial straits or will they fall into despair . Seems awfully familiar," Velma said .

"Yeah awfully familiar to that ghost story," Fred said .

"Someone is using Michael's ghost story to commit crimes," Chris said .

"Whoever it is, I'll give them a piece of my mind for disrespecting one of my favorite books!" Velma said .

"Alright guys, I'm sure that some clues were left behind here so we have to try to find it," Fred said . "Split up for clues,"

Everybody started searching . In about 10 seconds after Fred announced a search, s.h.a.ggy and s...o...b.. found something .

"Hey guys, look at what we found!" s.h.a.ggy said .

When the gang went to where the two were, they saw a candle that's already been lit and a couple of other stuff such as a the top of a c.o.ke bottle, an aluminum pie plate, and tape .

"What is this?" Daphne asked .

Chris was silent before he had an idea .

"s...o...b.. can you see if there's more of this?"

"Reah," s...o...b.. said as he started sniffing around the entire room . Soon he found 5 more of the same setup .

"This is a DIY fog machine," Chris said . "It adds glycerin into distilled water and then once you heat it up, it creates a lot of fog . If there's 6 of these around the entire room, the amount of fog that appeared would make sense,"

"It would also make sense why we weren't able to find a huge fog machine in the room . Those things are huge," Fred said .

"Well, it seems that our spirit from Michael's book isn't really a spirit after all," Daphne said .
