"Your Highness, Master..." Ponzu was about to step forward, but Keith held out his arm, and shook his head. After that, Ponzu stood silently, watching them.

Robin didn't say anything, but smiled sadly. Her experiences in making friends had been a bitter one. Even now, the remnant wounds to her heart had not fully healed.

'Will he leave too, now, I wonder..' She thought to herself.

Betrayers? There had been several; avoiders, many more. The only one who had brightened her world, the only one who had protected her, was her brother. That's why even though she had no other attachments, she would still strive to return.

Robin's sad smile, clutched at Christian's heart. What had Robin been through in order to make such a smile? His scowl deepened.

"You...you mustn't have had many friends before, then, did you? No...you had friends, but they all ran at the first sign of trouble." He said.

"Urk!" Robin winced as the words seemed to cut her like a knife. That's right. She had only had one good friend, for a single day. But that friend was gone forever.

The rest had been well meaning superiors whom she had learned from. Or they had been people working under her brother, who had dared not approach. Of those within her age range, Robin...had no one she could call friend.

"S-so? What of it? Why are we talking about this right now!?" Robin turned her head aside, looking down at the ground and letting her bangs fall in front of her face.

Seeing he had touched upon a somewhat painful subject, Christian sighed, and walked over to Robin, whose was trying to keep her expression under control. Although she heard his approaching footsteps, she wouldn't look up. She dared not look up.

A pair of boots entered Robin's vision. The footsteps stopped. Then Christian reached over and ruffled Robin's hair. Robin's brain stopped, and she looked up at Christian with a blank stare.

"For something like this, between real friends, there's no need to even ask, is there?" Christian chuckled, not a trace of anger on his face anymore.

"I have said it before: rely on us a little more, Robin. After all, we're your friends, right?" He tilted his head, and beamed his 100 kw princely smile as he waited patiently for Robin's answer.

At this, Robin suddenly scowled. "Is that so... And until when are you going to remove your hand?" She said.

"...I thought all kids like this sort of thing." Christian replied, playing dumb.

"Precisely: kids. Do I look like a kid to you?" Robin replied pointedly.

"Um..."

"Don't answer that!" Robin rolled her eyes and turned back towards the king slime, who was finis.h.i.+ng up. "If you're gonna help, then I won't allow you to quit mid-way. Got it?" She stood there, her back to them.

Christian sighed, relieved. "Yeah. We've got it." He smiled. There was an old saying that familiars resemble their masters. Robin's behavior was certainly in tandem with a proud tomcat.

In front, Robin secretly patted her chest in relief. 'Thank goodness! I escaped being blinded! Mom was right, I should never directly look at the sun. This sort of close exchange really isn't good for my heart.'

At this point, Hiker the king slime had finished the vibration treatment. It set the children down off to the side, on their feet. Then it gave Robin a thumbs up, and turned a s.h.i.+ny obsidian black as it digested the parasites.

The children were looking at their flawless skin, marred by neither bruise, freckle, nor mole. Gretel giggled to herself and waved her arms about, happy that she wasn't in pain anymore.

"You were right. That slime really can heal us." The sharp-eyed kid said begrudgingly.

"Come on, Hans! How hard is et tah give tha man yer thanks?" Gretel elbowed Hans in the arm.

"Hey, don't go making more bruises where et just got healed!" Hans rubbed his arm, and glared at Gretel.

Robin chuckled. "You're all quite welcome. But you can thank me when we're done! We've got work to do! Each one of you, go with a kid, and help them bring those that can't move or have collapsed over to the Companion's Green, okay? It's the children's job to lead the way."

"Right! Lead the way, and we'll do all the rest!" Sir Daniel acknowledged.

And so, the children paired up with Robin's group and scattered to the different homes, on a mission to save people. But, there was one house in particular which was farther than all the rest...

"Boss Rahm. You're here!" a dwarf said, tears falling from his eyes. Rahm looked haggard. His eyes were red and swollen to the point where he could only squint to see.

"Is she..." Rahm's throat choked up to the point where the words couldn't come out.

"She's in her room. She's been waiting for you." the dwarf answered, stepping to the side to let him in.

Rahm entered and stood by the bedside, looking at his suffering daughter. bruises covered her skin Even her face and neck were not an exception. Her breath was ragged and shallow. Rain started falling outside the window.

"Ah! A sudden downpour! What's up with the weather here?" A woman's voice sounded from the outside.

"...It's pretty bad. We can only wait it out under cover." a man's voice also drifted through the window, which was opened a crack.

"Hey, did you hear about that doctor, earlier?" The woman brought up.

"What doctor?" The man asked.

"The one that's taken over the companion's green. I heard he's healing patients with the colorful bruise illness. Even if they're near death, it's said he can heal them."She described.

"Well, no I didn't hear that earlier. But, why do you say this?" He wondered.

"I wanted to drop by and see if he can really heal them! If he can't then I'll be the first to shout fake! But if he can, then wouldn't it be great?" She replied enthusiastically.

Rahm, who was about to close the window, paused. It had been so quiet in this room that he couldn't help overhearing.

"Ah. It stopped raining." The male voice noted.

"Then what are you waiting for!? Let's go see!" The woman laughed and footsteps could be heard hurrying away.

"Boss?" the other dwarf asked.

"Reg, go grab the stretcher." Rahm said, a glimmer of light begining to gleam in his eyes.

"We're heading to the Companions Green."

Reg excitedly ran out of the room.

In a hidden alleyway, Chelsea and Liam hid, keeping an eye on the road.

"So, why did you use water arts to make the two of us soaking wet-?" Liam asked.

"Shh! Here they come!" Chelsea shushed him by placing a finger over his mouth.

Two dwarfs hurried by, carrying a stretcher on their shoulders, upon which lay an ill little girl. Liam's irises contracted as he began to understand. This girl, Chelsea, was going around helping people.

Chelsea watched until the two had vanished from sight, then she sighed in relief, removing her hand from Liam's mouth.

"Whew! That was close! Come one, we've got six others to get to!" She said, pulling Liam along behind her. If she had looked back at him while they were rus.h.i.+ng off, she might have seen a hint of a smile gleaming in Liam's eyes. It rained locally six times that day.

"You can't use the park for something like that. Only with orders from the proper authorities can we open the Companions Green up to the public!" The guard at the gates stated, emphatically.

"Like I said, It's an emergency!" Robin insisted. "Could't you make an exception this one time?"

"I'm very sorry, but those are my orders, Mister!" The guard shook his head.

"But they're already headed here! Are you telling us we need to treat them out in the middle of the streets? The process is not a pleasant sight!" Robin explained.

"Like I said, Mister, my duty is to refuse entrance to those without pets, especially the children. Unless you can get a high enough authority's permission, I am unable to let you in. my hands are tied!"

Robin frowned. she had thought she could negotiate with the soldier, but his stubbornness was air-tight.

"Are my words a high enough authority for you, Malcolm? Or shall I have you stationed elsewhere?" A familiar voice sounded out from behind them.

Robin turned to see who it was, and smiled.
