Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Server Alert: A Dungeon War has been started! This war will last a total of five days . For the next two days, players from the enemy dungeon will be able to invade your dungeon . Likewise, you will be able to invade the enemy dungeon . Do your best to survive the onslaught and overcome your foe! To the victors, the great spoils of war will be revealed .

The message flowed across James's screen the moment the timer hit 0 . Likewise, he could see all of his players pause and look down at their own message screens, likely seeing the same message flow across .

At the same time, a single message in red appeared in front of him .

Advertis.e.m.e.ntCore Live Stream Active . It seemed that not only was the dungeon war going to be live streamed to all of the other players, but the core aspect of it was going to forcibly be streamed to the rest of the Dungeon Cores as well . That was fine, because even though it meant BLANK could see what he was doing, it meant he could watch them as well .

James excitedly pulled up his Core chat menu, pulling up the main page . There, in bold letters, it exclaimed the start of the very first ever dungeon war . Below the exclamation two screenshots where shown . The first was of James's dungeon, as he would recognize the fearsome view of the Terminus anywhere . The other screenshot showed a giant…gummy bear? If he had to guess, the screenshots were of boss mobs for each dungeon . However, did BLANK really have a gummy bear as a boss mob? That seemed, a bit out of character .

Both screenshots had a watch option, with a little red dot showing they were currently live streaming . Excitedly, James rub his tentacles together before he clicked on the stream for BLANK . He could not wait to finally see-

Error: Dungeon War partic.i.p.ants are unable to watch the core live stream . James stared at the message for a moment, before he let out a sigh . It made sense . If they wanted the dungeon war to be fair, or at least, as a fair as could be in the given circ.u.mstances, it wouldn't be right for the partic.i.p.ants to be able to spy on each other .

Instead, James would have to just watch his dungeon as BLANKs players invaded his dungeon, and hopefully he could watch as his own players invaded BLANK's dungeon . A part of James was actually glad he and BLANK wouldn't be able to watch each other's streams of their actions . It meant BLANK wouldn't be able to see what James had planned for his third- and fifth-day placements . It also meant his Avatar information, and anything else he looked at or did during the next two days, would remain a secret from BLANK . Something that James was actually quite thankful for .

Server Announcement: Invasion Gates will become active in 5 minutes! Another message flitted across his stream, and James looked anxiously at Rue . The war had just started, and already the first invasion gates were about to go live . He knew they would activate every 2 hours and would create a gate on each floor . His players would be able to take parties of up to 10 through the gates, to invade the enemy dungeon . Likewise, the enemy dungeon could invade his instances with parties of 10 . The instance invaders arrived in would be completely random though, so it was a toss-up on which adventurers would be available to defend against the invasion .

James did a quick scan of his dungeon, checking the instances he currently had up . His instances were maxed out, with players steadily grinding away . According to Rue, many of his players had actually stayed awake during the past 24 hours, grinding out as many levels as they could and upgrading their gear . Apparently, from what Rue had overheard, some enterprising merchants had even begun cutting deals or adjusting prices in order to sell their wares even quicker . Needless to say, the upcoming war was driving the economy already .

He ran a name search, seeing if Z or Skar's parties were in the dungeon, and was dismayed to see that neither party was currently in an instance . However, there was still a single instance for his third floor up, which was currently inhabited by members from the largest guild on James's server . Fifteen members, ranging from level 27 to 31 walked cautiously through the swamp land, fighting off stuffed animals . What the guild lacked in terms of top-level players like Z and Skar's groups had, they made up with numbers of above average players .

The guild, called Stryke Force, had roughly 100 players, ranging from level 25 to 31 . Their leader was a Paladin named Stryker123, who did a good job of keeping his players alive and worked tirelessly to try and level all of them equally . His lieutenants often dove into James's dungeon with their lower leveled players, in an effort to power level them and help them grow at an appropriate rate . James had to admit, he respected what the guild was doing . Not only because they also offered to help outsiders level if they needed, but also because their leaders.h.i.+p really seemed to care about all the members of their guild . James knew of other guilds within his instance that were, less than friendly towards outsiders . There were even apparently a few guild feuds going on in town, from what he had overhead from other adventurers, that normally caused problems .

Luckily, those seemed to have been put on hold for the upcoming dungeon war . Because the outside threat to their home, their dungeon, was more important than the feuds . As James scanned his third-floor instance, he also couldn't help but grin as he saw two other figures making their way through the swamp land, apart from Stryke Force .

The two were a unique group, that James had started to take note of during his full day of immersion as a dungeon core . While many players began forming parties of five or more to clear his floor, these two stuck together as only a duo . Not only did that fact interest James, but their cla.s.ses had also caught his attention as well . Initially, the two had entered his dungeon as a necromancer named Axel42 and a summoner named FlashFyre . Obviously, James had been interested to see a summoner, but the necromancer had also proved to be quite the interesting cla.s.s .

Needless to say, James had been excited to watch them grow, and he was proud to see the two of them making their way around his third floor . While having less members was more dangerous normally, it also meant they could level faster, as they were only splitting their experience across the two of them . Additionally, they were both pet cla.s.ses, which had allowed them to overcome foes in rather interesting ways . If he had to guess, given they were both only level 29, and unable to take on the Terminus by themselves, they had tagged along with Stryke Force till the third floor, then separated from the group to do their own leveling .

James glanced at the timer that had started the moment he had received his last announcement . There was only 1 minute to go, before the invasion gates opened up . Already, players across his other instance were grouping together, or finis.h.i.+ng off the battles they were partaking in, to prepare . He could feel the antic.i.p.ation rising as the groups all mingled, the air cackling with energy .

On the third-floor instance, James saw the duo turn away from their path, and begin making their way back towards the portal that was the entrance to the third floor . The members of Stryke force did the same, meaning all 17 players on his third-floor instance were going to the same destination . James knew the players would be able to invade BLANKs third floor, just as BLANK would have players able to invade James's third floor . He just had to wonder which adventurers would brave the candy dungeon, and what the players from BLANKs dungeon would be like .
