Chapter 135

"Maybe another group is doing better?" Rue offered up as James stared hard at the Warlock's chocolatey frame. It seemed the warlock, luckily, hadn't been killed by that chocolatey stream. But he was petrified, turned into a chocolate statue. Meaning he was as good as dead, unless they healed him, and quickly. And, considering James had just watched their priest slip and fall into the chocolate river, he wasn't counting on it. Then again, these players were still relatively low leveled when it came to James's dungeon players, meaning they weren't as experienced as other groups, and were still bound to make mistakes. He was just upset they had been one of the first groups to dive into BLANKs dungeon. Amateurs.

"But, but, but. Caarrrrl." Rue stifled a laugh as James glanced in her direction. The pixie shrugged and waived a hand at James. "Fine. Do you think they have a Candy Mountain?"

James scanned what he could see of the first floor, noting that the entire first floor seemed relatively flat, with only simple hills. Nothing that looked like a mountain.

"Nope. I don't think the first floor has a candy mountain. Why?"

Rue simply stared at him for a long, silent moment, before she shook her head, disappointment on her face. "How do you not know these things." She shook her head some more. "Seriously, you're missing out on so much."

"What?" If he was missing out on some sort of humor, he was eager to know what. She had introduced him to a lot of old jokes and references already, he was also willing to learn more. Though he was also curious what the man who had created her had been thinking, giving the AI such an ancient sense of humor and references. Sure, there were many from the older generations playing games, Z and his group being a great example, but still, James was certain none of his peers would get Rue's references either.

"I'll show you later." She sighed and turned back towards the screen they were watching. "So, if this party is a bust," As she spoke, they saw what looked like red, candied fish jump out of the water and land on the priest as he tried to swim back to sh.o.r.e. The fish had a strange blue pattern on its side, with a golden cross emblazoned upon it. James was just able to catch the name of the mob, as it pulled the priest further into the chocolatey river. Swedish Fish. That mob definitely felt like an attempt at humor, but a poor, dad joke leveled one. Though James had figured that with as many mob options as there were across all the dungeons, not all of them could be grade A humor.

"Whatever you say." James turned away from the fight, scanning the group of instances. The other party that was in this instance was also rather low leveled, meaning he doubted they were going to be of much interest. A quick glance showed they were actually being hunted by a group of players from BLANKs dungeon, so yeah, definitely not worth watching. That being said, James had plenty of other instances to check out. If there was one thing he was finding, it was that his players were going all out in their invasions.

"This looks promising." He pulled up an instance that showed it was taking place on the second floor of BLANKs dungeon. The party he noticed, was made of up players ranging from level 27 to 30. Meaning they were definitely a lot more prepared for what they were going to face. However, James also knew a second level instance meant that BLANKs basic mobs were going to be level 25, with a mini boss at level 30, and the final boss at level 35.

"Which group is that?" Rue scanned over the team as James did, seeing if they recognized any of the players. With 10,000 players, it was hard to remember all of them. However, some of the higher leveled groups could stand out. The party they were watching though, did not. James was happy to note though, that while they were a generic healer, tank, and triple dps group, their cla.s.ses were at least a little more varied.

The biggest difference was that this party had a druid as a healer. Druids could not only turn into beast forms, which could make them quite formidable, but they also had natural healing aspects. From the looks of it, this druid had doubled down on his healing abilities, as he had chosen Forest Druid as his level 20 sub cla.s.s. As a forest druid he could summon healing trees which could connect to his party members with their roots, giving them a constant heal over time affect.

The other level 20 members were all pretty common options, a death knight for the tank, a fire mage for the magic dps, and a berserker for the close-up melee dps. Their level 30 player made James pause. It was a cla.s.s he hadn't seen before, and one that he didn't even know existed.

"What exactly is a gunslinger?" He looked the man up and down, noting that his armor currently was the typical ranged set he noted from player who had been farming his second floor. He had on the B.L.U. armor set, which would have made him blend in with any other ranged dps out there. James noticed the Gunslinger even was sporting the monocle that his philoso-raptors used, which he knew increased their accuracy, and the top hat, because why not.

"Ohhh, that." Rue looked down at the gunslinger, whose username James finally learned was MercerEffect. "It's a special cla.s.s that is unlocked when you try and combine arcane archer with the alchemist cla.s.s." She pointed at his hips, where he had two crossbows. Then, she motioned towards his back, where he had what looked to be a tier 2 steampunk composite bow. "Watch what happens when he draws his weapons." Rue shot him a knowing wink, as James turned all of his attention on the party. They had obviously just made their way into BLANKs dungeon and were taking in the sights around them.

James did a quick scan of the area as well. The second floor, much like the first, was extremely colorful and almost welcoming. As before, everything was covered and made out of candy. There were even multiple rivers of chocolate flowing around the floor. The difference on the second floor, was that they actually seemed to be in a much larger, more open area. James would have almost thought that BLANK had gone full on open area dungeon floor, if not for the five different pathways he could see spanning out around the area.

"Keep your eyes peeled." The Gunslinger said, his voice holding a slight tw.a.n.g to it, which reminded James instantly of the cla.s.sic cowboy speak from western movies.

"What exactly are we looking for?" The Druid, named Caddy, asked. He had chosen an elf for his race, which James felt was extremely fitting for a forest druid.

"Well, obviously we're looking out for players. The gunslinger spit towards the ground, grinning as he eyed his party. "I say we hold the high ground, take as many as we can, and then return back to our dungeon and reap some of those sweet sweet rewards."

"And you expect them to just come out here and charge us?" The death knight, Gorg, who James saw was a rather large orc, looked doubtful.

"Of course, because we're about to make quite the ruckus." MercerEffect nodded towards the party's mage, who shot him a grin. "How would you like to do this?"

The mage, Ydna, closed her eyes as flames spiraled around her. A large smile crept across her face as she channeled her arcane powers, and James had to wonder what she was doing. Whatever it was, it seemed like the party had a plan. And James was extremely excited to see what exactly it was.
