The sudden departure of SoulDemon left everyone confused. And, it wasn't just SoulDemon that left. The moment the ground started shaking, all of BLANKs players seemed to freeze, and then run. Granted, there weren't many of BLANKs players remaining, but those that were still around could have easily taken down James's remaining players. After all, most of the d.i.c.kens were dead, and most of the players had fled. It was only Axel42, FlashFyre, Trogdor, and his party that remained.
"I don't like this." Rue whispered besides James; her voice filled with concern. James agreed completely with her sentiments. Whatever was coming, was dangerous. Whatever was coming, was deadly. Whatever was coming, James really wanted to see.

"We should head back." Axel42's cooldown was up, and as he spoke his form shrunk back to his smaller, human size. A few seconds later, FlashFyre's cooldown also ran out. It would be a little while before they could pull of their cool trick anymore, and James knew Trogdor had burned some of his cooldowns as well. It was high time for them to leave.
"Agreed." FlashFyre made the comment even as she walked towards Axel and the others. Without even looking around, the necromancer casually began making gestures with her hands. As she did, a strange green energy flowed about her, and James saw new skeletons begin rising from the fallen bodies around her. The green light flowed first towards any of BLANK's players...o...b.., creating skeletons that glowed slightly. James knew skeletons raised from stronger enemies had a slight boost to their stats, and skeletons raised from enemy players likely gained the strongest boost.
Meanwhile, Axel42 motioned towards the tree line, the direction which SoulDemon and the other players from BLANKs dungeon had fled. His two summoned Breakers began making their way towards the tree line, shaking their earth as their ma.s.sive steampunk frames moved. FlashFyre's skeletal army formed up alongside the breakers. Whatever was coming from the forest was going to have to face the mob army.
"Let's-" Before Axel42 could comment, the earth once again shook, and everyone turned towards the tree line. Sounds of breaking branches, trees groaning in protest as they were forced from the ground, echoed through the area. James couldn't' help but feel a tinge of excitement and fear. Here it was. Whatever it was. James wasn't quite sure. Was it the third-floor boss?
"We won't allow that." A voice boomed from the forest, and as it did, a figure suddenly appeared. It was humanoid in appearance, standing nearly 30ft in height. It was clad, from head to toe in armor formed out of jawbreakers. Beneath the armor and at the joints, James could see a gummy substance. From what James knew of BLANKs dungeon, that meant the creature appearing before them had not only a high physical defense, but also magical.
In its hand, a scepter that appeared to be a giant tootsie pop, with a s.h.i.+fting glow of color coming from within. Its other hand was armed with a large s.h.i.+eld made this time not out of jolly rancher, but instead what appeared to be a white and red rectangular slab of candy. If James had to guess, it was peppermint bark.
From the humanoid's shoulders, a billowing golden cape flowed, though the cape was so thin James figured it had been woven out of cotton candy. The way it s.h.i.+mmered, he guessed it was a magical item of some sort too. As the form emerged completely from the forest, he was able to make out the face as well. It was humanoid, as was the form, but the features seemed more angular, and almost ethereal. It wasn't the face of a human, nor was it the face of an elf. Instead, the humanoid form, if James had to guess, was an elemental. James knew what he was looking at, and it wasn't BLANKs third floor boss.
"No." He whispered as his eyes took in the form. Glancing at it, he checked to pull up the stats, just to confirm his suspicions. In Golden Letters, the bolded name appeared.
The Candied King
Dungeon Avatar
Level 30
"s.h.i.+t." He whispered to himself, realization sinking in. BLANKs players had watched James's secret boss and their secret boss square off, and end in a tie. However, while James's players had decided to launch a d.i.c.ken rush against BLANKs players, the enemy forces had gone for a different plan. If their secret boss couldn't work, in their minds, they likely figured their next best weapon would be something even deadlier.
Granted, the level was lower than a secret boss, but X-ray's message to everyone made certain to inform players that the Avatars summoned by the players would be controlled by an AI that existed within the dungeon. Not only that, but the Avatars were special embodiments of the dungeon. So, James figured BLANKs players had rationalized their next best bet would be the most terrifying thing they could think of. The embodiment of their obnoxiously difficult dungeon.
Unbeknownst to them, they had just done BLANK a huge favor. Because of their actions, their way of thinking, BLANK had managed to get one of their Avatars onto the FoB before James could take the field. And to make matters worse, it seemed BLANK had been saving up their dungeon tokens for this moment. As that was the only way they would have been able to finish Level 6 Avatar research in time for the dungeon war. On top of that, with level 6 Avatar research, BLANKs Avatars now had not only a level advantage on James, but they got to choose a second multicla.s.s option. The one thing deadlier in a matchup than level advantage, was the advantages that came with the unique multicla.s.s system within DCO.
"We accept your humble sacrifice, players. Your essence will help us on our quest to summon our second Avatar. For, while we are enough to completely destroy you, with our second Avatar summoned, your dungeon's defeat will be guaranteed."
As The Candied King finished speaking, the tootsie pop scepter glowed brightly, and from it multicolored lights flew out in all directions. This was really bad.
