Fern is Camilla and Miles' first child, so they were extra cautious and doting when taking care of Fern. They were initially worried about Fern because she did not cry often. However, Fern cried when she was hungry or when her diaper got soiled, so they gradually accepted that their daughter is simply good at self-control.

Fern has started babbling and trying to communicate with her family. The first time that she said "Papa" while looking at her dad, Miles was so touched that his eyes started to water. Whenever a guest comes over to the house, Miles starts bragging about how Fern will be a daddy's girl when she grows up.

When Miles bragged about Fern saying "papa", Camilla would look at him with contempt and say "Don't get c.o.c.ky. She may have said 'papa' before 'mama' but her first word was food."

Today Fern is wearing a cute, fluffy sheep onesie. With her intelligent gray eyes and chubby cheeks, Fern could be described as the epitome of cuteness. If someone from her original world saw Fern now, they would think that they were hallucinating. Fern was known for being cold and closed off. She was usually seen wearing professional clothing or a lab coat. She wouldn't be caught dead wearing something cute or adorable.

Both Camilla and Miles are going back to work today. They originally wanted Fern's grandmother, Roseanna, to take care of Fern but she was out of town. Since they do not want to hire a babysitter or nanny, Camilla decided to bring Fern to work.

Camilla works as a professor and researcher at the University of Ashton. This university has a status similar to that of Princeton or Yale in Fern's original universe. Today Camilla has a relatively laid-back schedule. In the morning and afternoon, she will be giving a lecture on introductory biology and the biology of behavior. The rest of the workday will be spent doing paperwork.

A couple minutes late for work, Miles is putting on his jacket as he runs out the door. He briefly stops and turns his head towards Camilla and Fern.

"Goodbye to the two most beautiful girls in the whole world! I'll see you l"

Camilla stops Miles by tugging on his sleeve.

"Now where do you think you're going without giving us a kiss first?"

Pausing, Miles leans in to kiss Fern on the cheek and kisses his wife on the lips.

"Love you. I'll see you tonight. If you need any help with the baby, call me."

Satisfied, Camilla blushes and responds, "Love you too."

Fern decided to chime in by saying "Papa!" to which Miles grins and rubs her forehead.

After Miles left, Camilla and Fern also headed out for work.

As Camilla arrives at work and walks into her office, she is greeted by co-workers and friends.

"Welcome back Taylor!"

"Good Morning, Dr. Price"

"How's the baby, Taylor?"

"Congratulations"

"Is this little Fern? I saw her in your posts on MyRoom. She's even cuter in person"

In a cheerful mood, Camilla makes her way to her cla.s.s' auditorium with Fern in her arms.

The previous lecture had just ended so no one paid much attention to her as she went onto the stage.

After waiting 15 minutes, Camilla stands in the middle of the stage and looks at all her students. The auditorium is jam-packed with 300 students. It's empowering to watch all of those people stop talking when you take the stage.

"Good Morning, I hope you are all excited to begin your last learning module before final exams. I'm Taylor Price; I will be your instructor for the next couple of weeks."

"As you can see, in my arms, I am holding a little baby. This is Fern. She was born several months ago and will be attending the lectures with me"

Many of the students sigh and aww at how adorable Fern is.

"she's so cute!"

"I love her onesie"

"Although I hate biology, I will probably go to cla.s.s just for the baby."

Pleased by how the students responded to Fern's presence, Camilla resumes her lecture.

The information covered in the lectures would be considered "past knowledge" instead of "current knowledge" in Fern's original world, so she stops paying attention and falls asleep.
