Chapter 5 Part 3 – Don't judge a book by its cover

As Kang Hui knew that Wu Hongrong's character was frank and unreserved, she was worried that Chen Minhao's interaction with Wu Hongrong today would be too deliberate as he would be over-prepared, thereby offending Wu Hongrong, so she did not tell him in advance.

Unfortunately, what's done cannot be undone!

Wu Hongrong turned to Kang Hui and quipped, “This is the musical genius that you are complimenting on the phone? He looks kinda average though?”

Wu Xiaoshuang abruptly interrupted: “Chen Minhao is super handsome. Why does he say Chen Minhao look average?”

Kang Hui gave a awkward but polite smile. “Music is not something that can be seen just by looking.” After that, she turned back and shot a ruthless stare at Wu Xiaoshuang.

Wu Hongrong nodded slightly. He looked at Kang Hui and said, “I'll reiterate again, I never promise you that I'll help with the demo. I'm only here to listen to the song on your account.”

Chen Minhao was unhappy right from the start because of the long hours of waiting, and now that the other party was showing such an undisguised and disgusted att.i.tude towards him, he was boiling inside.

So what if he is a top producer? To him, respect should be mutual.

Wu Hongrong looked at the empty-handed Chen Minhao and made a dig at him contemptuously, “Are you going to sing without any instrumental?” His eyes narrowed into a seam as he stared at Chen Minhao.

Kang Hui said heartily to Chen Minhao: “Mister Wu Hongrong is really harsh regarding music.” Then, she turned her head and looked at Wu Hongrong and explained. “Chen Minhao is indeed relatively weak in the aspect of playing the musical instruments, the company is stepping up on his training. How about you first listen to just the vocal version today, please? ”

Harsh regarding music? Chen Minhao laughed. From Wu Hongrong's face, he could see just one word – b.i.t.c.hy. He felt that he must be blind as to have a first impression that he looked amiable.

He told himself internally: Never judge a book by its cover!

Chen Minhao sincerely elucidated on the matter: “I just pick up guitar recently. I'll sing to a guitar accompaniment.” Although Chen Minhao was in a bad mood, he still knew what was more important.

“There's one in the fifth practice room on the eighth floor. I'll go get it.” To his surprise, Wu Xiaoshuang signaled to him with her eyes.

“I'll go with you!” Chen Minhao understood her and left together with her. He could imagine how extremely awkward the scene would be if the three of them were to wait for her to get the guitar.

Without any delay, Wu Xiaoshuang and Chen Minhao went back to the recording studio right after getting the guitar.

Before the door was pushed open, Wu Xiaoshuang whispered, “Fighting.”

Chen Minhao whispered back, “Okay.” He thought in his mind on the scene later where he would pretend to be a pig to prey on the tiger and slap Wu Hongrong's face.

The pair pushed the door and entered the studio together.

The song – 《Simple Love Song》, had been mastered thoroughly by him. Every morning, he would hum the song while in the gym and every afternoon he would practice while playing the guitar.

Thus, when Chen Minhao's fingers strung the guitar strings, he immediately got into groove as his clean and warm voice resounded the studio.
