Way To The Heavens 44 Sparring

When w.a.n.g Wei arrived at the dorm he found out that Long Yue and Lee Zheng haven't returned from cla.s.s yet.

When he asked around he found out that they had some trouble with some uppercla.s.smen. He quickly dashed toward the school building.

When he arrived there was a group of people all in one place.

"Why don't you just shut up." w.a.n.g Wei heard.

"How dare you talk to me like that? I am from the prestigious holy sun family and I heard that you disrespected my cousin and with that our family." Another boy said.

"You've got the wrong guy. I didn't disrespect your family. I wish it was me but it wasn't." Long Yue said.

"Then who was it?" The other boy asked.

"I did." w.a.n.g Wei said as he walked out.

Everyone turned their heads to w.a.n.g Wei. They were surprised by the fact that someone dared to stand up against the holy sun family.

"So you are the one who beat up my cousin." The boy said. "I am Chen Wong. I am the strongest in the holy sun family of my generation. I am a rank thirty-one chi master. I came here seeking revenge for my cousin." Chen Wong said.

"And you think you have the ability to do so?" w.a.n.g Wei said in a mocking tone.

"I know so." Chen Wong said.

"Well, if you're so sure why don't we have a little sparring session. I have learned some new martial arts move and I want to test it in a battle." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Okay, why don't we." Chen Wong said.

'I've got this in the bag. I will just turn it into a battle of attrition. Since I am a chi master and he is a chi fighter I will have the upper hand. I also have more experience and I am able to execute one more soul technique than him.' Chen Wong thought to himself.

When they entered the sparring arena there was a bigger audience than w.a.n.g Wei had before because usually, no one cared about a first-year' fight. But since there was also a second year fighting the number of people that were interested in watching this sparring session was obviously bigger.

One of the fifth years was the referee for this fight.

"If I tell you to stop and step away you will listen to what I say. When I say the fight is over, the fight is over. No redo's the fight will be over, you can challenge again another day." He said.

After the start of the fight was announced the spectators began cheering. The people from victory city were obviously cheering for w.a.n.g Wei. But the people who weren't from victory city were cheering for Chen Wong.

w.a.n.g Wei started by das.h.i.+ng toward Chen Wong.

"Don't think getting a jump start will help you." Chen Wong said as he released his soul form.

A blazing sun appeared above his head and three soul jewels. Two orange and one yellow.

His first soul jewel lit up and a bright light suddenly shone blinding w.a.n.g Wei. Who stopped dead in his tracks. Chen Wong sped to w.a.n.g Wei to punch him in the face but something unexpected happened as w.a.n.g Wei opened his eyes and they were yellow. He could see forms again and used his first soul technique. He paralyzed his opponent for three seconds. After that time he regained his sight.

"You are pretty good. Enduring my first soul technique like that." Chen Wong said.

The next moment his third soul jewel lit up.

'c.r.a.p!' w.a.n.g Wei thought. 'The third soul technique a soul expert gets will be much more powerful than the first two.'

The next moment three more suns appeared behind Chen Wong. And each sun started glowing up. And then suddenly they each shot out a solar flare. w.a.n.g Wei could do nothing but use his dragon scales to defend. But it wasn't enough. He was. .h.i.t by a solar flare on his leg and he fell to the ground. He had a pretty bad burn.

"Are you able to continue?" The referee asked.

"Of course." w.a.n.g Wei said with a determined look.

"Impressive. You are the first person to ever really injure me to this extent." w.a.n.g Wei said.

He then suddenly jumped up and ran toward Chen Wong.

"You don't learn do you?" Chen Wong said as he used his first soul technique again.

But this time w.a.n.g Wei turned his back toward his opponent. He wasn't blinded this time but he made himself vulnerable. Chen Wong saw this and made use of this opportunity.

As his first soul jewel was still s.h.i.+ning his third soul jewel also started glowing. He then hit w.a.n.g Wei with four solar flares at the same time.

w.a.n.g Wei couldn't keep himself from screaming out because of the pain he felt. But to everyone's surprise, he got up again.

His second soul jewel started glowing as well as the first one he released his poison breath and used his paralysis eyes to keep his opponent in place. Chen Wong was badly affected by the poisonous gas.

"If you don't surrender within three minutes the poison will start to affect your bones and cultivation base. Unless you can work the poison out of your system which can only be achieved by meditating for three minutes." w.a.n.g Wei said.

Chen Wong then started glowing a bright red and steam started to come out of his body. But this steam had a tinge of purple.

"Don't think that that is the only way. The minute the poison entered my body it became a liquid. All I am doing now is heating my body up which will result in the poison evaporating." Chen Wong said.

w.a.n.g Wei' second soul jewel started to glow up again but Chen Wong' second soul jewel also started to glow up. And out from the sun above his head came a single solar flare which made w.a.n.g Wei' poisonous gas explode.
