Way To The Heavens 49 Battle Arena

Morning comes around and w.a.n.g Wei starts exercising like he usually does and completes everything before heading out to see his friends.

He arrived at the academy's entrance and he met up with Chen Li, Long Yue, and Lee Zheng. When all four of them arrived they started making their way to the battle arena in jade city.

When they entered the battle arena's lobby they were in awe. It was a giant hall with all sorts of clerks and booths. The place that was bustling with activity was the place where the arena would take on bets. A lot of people were betting on these things.

"Let's go sign up." w.a.n.g Wei said.

The other three agreed and followed him to the counter where they could register themselves as fighters.

"h.e.l.lo, young masters." The lady behind the counter said with a sweet smile.

"h.e.l.lo miss." w.a.n.g Wei said. "We would like to register as fighters for this arena."

"Oh? You all want that?" The lady asked as she looked to the others for confirmation.

They all nodded their heads and made sounds of approval.

"Okay then. What are the names you want to go by?" the lady asked.

"Fire bone master." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Snow sky fighter." Lee Zheng said.

"Leopard fighter." Long Yue said.

And last but not least was Chen Li "Apollo".

"Okay, then I will register the four young masters." The lady said. "You will start off as stone-rank fighters. The more points you get the higher the rank you will attain. The way you obtain points is by winning and losing as less as possible. The points you acc.u.mulate are the points you get when you deduct the number of losses from the number of wins you got. So let's say you got three wins and one loss you have two points."

"Okay. What are all the different ranks?" Chen Li asked.

"The different ranks are stone, metal, steel, bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond. The ranks are also divided into soul expert levels. For example level twenty to twenty-nine fight in the same division." The lady said.

"Okay, thank you for explaining miss." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"No problem. Do you also want to sign up for a fight?" The lady asked.

"Yes, please." The four boys said.

"I can place you in the schedule this afternoon. Your pay will differ by a win or a loss. If it's a loss you will also get paid but not as much as when you would achieve a win." The lady said.

"Thank you." The boys said.

The four boys prepared for their fights by meditating in a special room reserved for fighters of the arena. The opponent w.a.n.g Wei would face was called the snake lord whose martial soul was a snake scythe. Long Yue was up against the speed demon. Chen Li was up against the fairy prince and Lee Zheng was up against the blazing falcon.

w.a.n.g Wei also started doing special breathing exercises which could help him break through to the orange bone level. His soul energy was still at level twenty-four but he was only one step away from reaching level twenty-five. Lee Zhen, Long Yue, and Chen Li also were level twenty-four. They were the top of the cla.s.s with w.a.n.g Wei as the strongest of them all.

If one advanced to the next level in the soul master world they would take their level in the arena with them. So if a silver rank chi fighter became a chi master they would still be silver rank.

'If I win a lot then I can obtain even more martial art techniques and I can maybe combine multiple techniques to create my own.' w.a.n.g Wei thought to himself as he was cultivating.

"Long Yue, are you ready for your fight?" Lee Zheng asked.

"Yeah, of course. How about you?" He replied.

"I am pretty confident in my abilities. What are you guys going to do with the prize money?" Lee Zheng said.

"I am only doing this for the experience." Long Yue said. "The money is a nice bonus but not really of

use for me."

"Same here." Chen Li said. "What about you?"

"I will use it to buy my own cultivation resources as I don't want to rely on my family forever." Lee Zheng said.

At this moment w.a.n.g Wei woke up from his meditation.

"w.a.n.g Wei, what are you going to do with your prize money?" Chen Li asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I am going to buy more martial art techniques and cultivation resources to keep improving my strength further and further." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"That is pretty obvious for you if I think about it." Long Yue said with a smile. "Always thinking about getting stronger."

"Isn't that important in this world of ours? The one with strength will be revered and will have the most power in the world. Of course, I want to get stronger." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"That is true." Lee Zheng said. "I think I might also want to buy more martial art techniques next to cultivation resources. I do have the sword technique and the air strike martial art technique but it will never be enough for me to reach the top of the world with only those."

"Yeah, if you think about it I might also buy some more martial art techniques." Long Yue said.

"Me too," Chen Li said.

It was at this moment that a person walked in the room.

"Fire bone master. It is time for your battle. Please follow me."
