Heavenly Forest Wolf 31 Chapter 31 - Draaklar's Blessing

With his essence fully channeled, a ferocious look appeared on Zaro's face as he twirled his body around and cleaved the crane's wing into two parts but in the meantime used all of the energy into that attack making him feel slightly lightheaded.

The fire elemental crane didn't expect such explosive power and took the entire force of the hit without much time to dodge. The crane was now flightless and couldn't even force its body from the ground as it squawked in pain.

While the attack was efficient, it consumed a lot of his energy and when he looked down at his claw he realized that the once terrifying and dangerous weapon was now cracked in places with blood seeping through!

As much as it hurt, Zaro couldn't afford to hesitate any longer and trudged at a fastened pace towards his opponent, an extreme murderous intent surrounding his entire body.

While Zaro was occupied with the fire-element crane, the girl had transformed back into her crane form and shot forward towards the other two so that they wouldn't hurt the whelp nor the wolf. Of course, the other two cranes were as terrifying as the fire-elemental one and she was no match for them both.

Since they were cherished greatly by the demon inside her master, they had received all of the benefits given to them while she had to go through the process of becoming stronger on her own!

The two cranes maneuvered brilliantly around her and then used their elemental abilities to shoot her down, one of them being an ice javelin and the other, a black beam. When she saw the attacks coming, her eyes suddenly closed and she chanted a spell causing a thin white layer to cover her back and blocking the oncoming attacks.

Once they were blocked, the s.h.i.+eld evaporated, allowing the cranes to power forward and charge at her once more!

This time they positioned their bodies into a spear and dashed at her but before they collided, she transformed back into her humanoid form and dropped safely to the ground while the other two bolted across the sky.

On the other side, Zaro was currently gnawing at the crane, not even giving it any time to pick itself up! Seeing this, the whelp formed a red and black orb which shortly expanded and pushed it towards the two and yelled, "Wolf, run!"

With the whelp's previous form engraved inside his head, Zaro didn't waste anytime and shot backward at least fifteen meters and watched as the orb collided with the crane! Rather than exploding or damaging the crane, the orb fused with the crane's body.

Zaro stared attentively at the crane to see what would happen and was absolutely stunned! The whelp had used the orb to suck in the crane's soul and was now transferring it into his own body!

As the orb now began merging with the whelp, Zaro could see its scales getting s.h.i.+nier and tougher while its body grew at least an extra meter in size! From what Zaro could tell, the whelp had actually forged a pill, albeit a big one but a pill nonetheless!

With the fire-elemental crane out of the picture, Zaro turned to see the girl being constantly attacked while she remained in her humanoid form.

"Use your crane form?!" Zaro shouted as he approached her as fast as he could, unsure as to why she didn't transform.

"Witness the power of my humanoid form!" she grinned and then suddenly, with a simple slash of her hand off to the side, numerous feathers shot out of her forearms and stabbed into the two cranes. She then jumped high in the air and formed two wings from her back which let her glide towards the cranes!

However, rather than taking advantage of her in the air, the two cranes were momentarily paralyzed which allowed her to summon a javelin of her own made entirely out of the light element. She took her time and focused entirely on her ability before calling out, "Divine Light Spear of Execution".

With that, the javelin grew slightly in length and the spear head was now as bright as the sun! It majestically shot forward and pierced through one of the crane's, killing it in an instant!

After she finished her attack, she immediately fainted and fell straight onto Zaro's tough fur.

Meanwhile, the last dark-elemental crane, had taken flight and was already soaring through the air, fleeing the fight as it knew that it couldn't eliminate them at all. Since Zaro couldn't fly and the whelp was still didn't have his core awakened, they watched helplessly as the final crane got away.

However, a victory was a victory, the now slightly bigger whelp approached Zaro and the unconscious girl. Even though dragons couldn't make much facial expressions, Zaro could tell that it was smiling on the inside.

The whelp bowed its head as a thankful gesture and then looked up at Zaro, "Wolf, you have done us a great deal, as a spiritual creature, I would like to grant you a piece of my strength as thanks for saving my life." The whelp then stretched out its two short arms and presented Zaro with a dragon scale, however, unlike most dragons scales... this one was slightly feathered and had a symbol wedged in the middle of it.

"If you consume this, your body will receive 'Draaklar's Blessing'."

"This should be the second blessing I have received, what do they do?" Zaro asked as he balanced the girl on his back so that she wouldn't fall off.

"Once you have your core awoken, the blessing will activate and allow you to grow even stronger, however, you must consume it during the awakening period or else your body and mind will mutate into one of the dark ent.i.ties, be aware."

Zaro nodded his head as the whelp summoned a rope and then tied it around Zaro's neck, "This is rope was created from the thread of an Imperial-core cave-spider. Although their bloodline is rather weak, this spider is known for its strong thread and its properties which cause the rope to break only under an evolution process such as the awakening."

Zaro didn't say a word and just nodded, although he was grateful for the gift, he really wanted that crane's core and the other crane's core was dismembered and decimated by the girl's spear. Zaro sighed and spoke with the whelp further, trying to understand more about the world while the girl recovered.
