"What's wrong?"

Walking out of the restroom, she placed her arms around his neck as he picked her up into a princess carry.

"Nothing, at least not anymore."

He held her close to him, walking back to their tent.

Along the way, she could see the people that had been wounded in the attack a day prior.

Letting her gaze sweep over them she sighed.

Arkalat sensed her fluctuating mood his eyes falling on her face as he leaned his head down to place a kiss atop her head.

"You saved their lives. Don't make a face like you did not achieve anything. If you had not acted, they would not be only "wounded".'

Looking up at him she made a small smile, after all, he was right she had taken a considerable risk to save them.

More importantly, it was for him, after all, so many grade spiders would not leave him unscratched either!

Placing a hand on her belly, she leaned her head back to his chest and closed her eyes.

At that moment she had felt a powerful magical impulse rise into veins and limbs has she had collapsed.

It had given her the feeling that was like she had received outside help, but its origin came from the pit of her abdomen.

She dismissed the thought it must have been her reserve!

After all, the little bun in the oven could not that conscious yet right?

Arkalat stirred her away from profoundly thinking by placing a kiss on her lips then saying.

"My love, do not dwell on things too much it's not good for the little bun."

Smiling and placing her down on her feet he gently pats her head.

"And we are home, here are the new helpers I found."

Speranza gaze sweep over them, but she had not missed some of their gazes filled with jealousy and envy.

Wait, she saw envy and jealousy in their eyes?

Who were those girls first of all!

And why did they look like they could tear her apart and hope to climb her husband bed?

"I don't need them."

She spoke flatly and gazed up at him with her most aggravated expression.

Arkalat was at a loss for words she did not even gaze at them that she dismissed them?

"I don't need an army of attendants I already have four maids."

"I'll keep only one of them."

Making a motion toward the kneeling blue and red-eyed gray elf before she resumed he train of thoughts.

"More than that and I will find it to be a bother."

She waved her hand in a dismissing manner, making it clear to him that; she was not interested in those extra maids.

He could not help but furrow his brow, she never dismissed people like this. Usually she would give them a chance; -did he perhaps overlook something?

"Are you sure they are at your beck and calls, after all, their slave collar will contain your blood. Therefore, they will be unable to harm you in the slightest!

He would not leave them the leisure to become full of themselves with a restrictive spell they could not do much.

Still, Speranza stayed cramped on her position those slaves she had seen their intent by a clear gaze into their eyes.

While Arkalat looked at her and not at them, their gaze s.h.i.+fted between heaven and earth.

They kept a neutral submissive look when his eyes scanned toward them and when it was not. They look like they could tear her apart!

Was she a m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.t to welcome trouble?

h.e.l.l NO! She would have none of that! She was not that nice anymore. Before Timara she might have given those girls a chance and hope for the best, but now, what if they tried to poison her?

"Seriously I wonder what you see in them all I see are the jealous and hypocrites that want to climb your bed and replace me. They might put an innocent look in front of you, but they look like they would like nothing more than tear me apart!"

Out of that lot, only two seemed to not eye the general as a meat piece she could welcome those two and make him happy…

Not to neglect his good intentions after all he been worried sick since she had pa.s.sed out.

Arkalat understood, after all, he knew he was not a reference when it came to women and inner courts, after all, Arkalat never had a family or had he any other wives.

Realizing the issue, he became a little fl.u.s.tered he nearly gave her a hot potato!

"Sorry love, we will do as you say after all my wife can never be wrong."

Doting in his love for her, Arkalat felt just like that. Speranza would never be wrong!

She could even ask him to send all the world into the pits of h.e.l.l!

And he would gladly do so!
