Chen Ming walked towards the desk and grabbed a piece of paper and a brush, he dipped the brush into the ink and started writing a list of food items that he will need every day. He also added a couple of medical items on the list like needles and some common herb. After concluding his writing, he checked the list again to ensure that he got the list of all the things he needs. Just like he said Tao come back within an hour, he got the list of the items that Chen Ming wanted and went out to get them. In less than two hours Tao came back with all the items and placed them in Chen Mings room. Chen Ming then went onto separating all the items and storing the herbs and needles away while a maidservant came to take the food items into the kitchen for further arrangements.
Tao despite being curious about why Chen Ming got the needles and herbs he didn't say it out loud, this young master if his often liked doing things that made no sense, for example, all the herbs that he got cant be made into anything. He might not be a doctor or a pill maker but after taking care of Ming Chen for 13 years he has some insight on different herbs. Chen Ming didn't bother with the weird stares Tao was giving him but rather he was focused on putting everything away and getting changed. After getting changed he along with Tao headed towards the kitchen. He followed one of the kitchen maids towards the table where all his ingredients were laid.
Chen Ming took out a piece of paper and gave it to the head chef. He told the chef how he wants the foods to be cooked and what time to serve it. He ensured that the chef knew that he wasn't allowed to add anything into his food even if its just for flavouring, he made sure that the chef knew to only add the things that were said in the note. After making sure that they had enough ingredients for a whole week, Chen Ming left the kitchen and headed towards the courtyard of the Chen family.
He looked at the main gates, no one knew what he was thinking. Even though he had a blank expression on his face most didn't realise the chilling gaze he had when he was looking at the gates, Chen Ming was feeling revengeful, he needed to get revenge for Ming Chen who died when he was hurt by the bandits. He was suspicious, there was no way that Ming Chen would be attacked by bandits on a normal day while out on a walk, he knew someone was behind this and he needed to find out who it is. After standing in the courtyard for some time did Chen Ming leave and headed towards his room.
Chen Ming took a short nap in his bed and was woken up by one of the maids to eat his dinner. The dinner consisted of enriching vegetables and fish. The proteins in the fish will help him recover. During the time Chen Ming was looking at himself in the mirror he noticed that there was a large black mark on his body. From what he could remember he didn't have any birthmarks on his upper body, he only had one near his inner thighs. He thought of something but he never said it out loud, he didn't want to jump to a conclusion about something and get it wrong.
After he finished eating he took off his clothes once again. He looked closely at the black mark. He realised that it wasn't like a normal mark, the mark looked odd, it's made one feel uncomfortable when looking at it. When he touched it he instantly knew that it was a seal. Normal birthmarks didn't feel like anything, they are after all a like a little stain on the skin, this mark, however, felt a little lumpy like something was inside it. Chen Ming got one of his new needles and wiped it with of the herbs to prevent infection.
He poked in the centre of the mark and let blood drip out, the colour of the blood was dark, almost black. As the blood was dripping out a strong pungent smell aroused with it. Chen Ming knew that it was poison. This type of poison was similar to the ones in modern times, even though it's the same poison the use of it is different. In modern times this poison is used to speed up the effects of poison, this is one of the most common poisons, making an antidote for this was like taking candy from a baby.
Chen Ming attended his self-made wound and changed into a new set of clothes. He went to the draws which have all the herbs he made Tao get for him. He grabbed five different herbs and took them to the kitchen, where he got a grinder and mixed all the herbs together until they became a paste. The juices that come from the herbs were drunk by Chen Ming, the paste was bought with him to his room. He asked one of the maids to prepare the bath for him.
The bath and hot water was ready for Chen Ming, he dismisses all the maids and told them not to disturb him unless he called for them, he also ordered them not to allow anyone to come inside until he is done. Once everyone left the room, Chen Ming got the herb paste and mixed it in the hot water. The clear water turned into a greenish colour. Chen Ming took off his clothes and sat down in the bathtub. The herb paste was being absorbed by his pores into his body, the paste was absorbed through his bloodstream and travelled all over his body taking it full effect. Sweat drops were gathering all over Chen Ming's body, the sweat wasn't transparent like normal, it was a blackish colour, Chen Ming sat in the bath for another 3 hours until he felt that there was no effect from the paste.
He cleaned himself up and changed his clothes, he called for the maids to come in and clean the bath up. After all the commotion settled down Chen Ming when to his bed and slept like a dead body.
For the rest of the week, he followed this routine, eating fat enriched foods and taking a herbal bath, at the end not only could Chen Ming see a difference but so could Tao and Bao. Chen Ming gained a little fat all over his body and no longer looked like a stick. Not only that he was also was able to completely remove the poison from his body, but the poison within his is also what stopped him from being able to cultivate. However, he hasn't told anyone about this matter and kept it to himself.
There was still only a few days until his grandfather will come. He remembers that he told his grandfather to come after ten days. Seen as he was now able to cultivate, he sat down on the floor and started meditating. Chen Ming could feel the particles being absorbed by the body. He couldn't identify what kind of element he was absorbing but he didn't care either, in his mind as long he is able to cultivate he will be able to get revenge for Ming Chen. For the next two days, Chen Ming stayed him his room and cultivate.
You could say that he was one of the lucky few living in this world, within two days he able to become a 1st Sergeant. If anyone were to know this they would definitely come seeking for him to join their organisation. Now that he became a 1st Sergeant he can now summon sprites and make a contract with them. However, because he didn't want anyone to find out about him being able to cultivate he didn't bother doing the summoning ritual. He was thinking about how to get revenge for Ming Chen, his train of thoughts was distributed by a Knock on the door. He didn't answer the door because he knew who it was. An old man with white long bread walked through the door when the old man's eyes landed on his precious grandson saying he was shocked would be an understatement. He had only left for less than two weeks and what he came to find was that his stick-thin grandson was no long stick thin.
Although he was still skinny for his age he still looked more healthy, Chen Ming gained more weight throughout his body. His weight improvements shocked everyone in the Chen Mansion. The only person who didn't seem as shocked as others was Bao. Naturally, as a bodyguard, Bao needed to gain some weight before he could turn them into muscles when he saw the kind of food Chen Ming was eating he knew what this little kid wanted to gain weight, and that's exactly what he did.
The old commander was still staring at his grandson who was sitting on the bed. He lifted his hands and rubs his eyes, not believing what he was seeing. He was thinking that his old eyes were deceiving him, so he kept on rubbing his eyes to make sure that what he was seeing was real and that he wasn't hallucinating.
