Across Time And Space 116 Visiting The Prince Of Qian Rong

Inside the Jiang's residence, Jiang Xiao Tian was in his study with his father, the old general, Jiang Huan. Xiao Tian was reading a letter sent by his elder brother, Xiao Xian silently. After a while, he tore the letter into two and threw it into the brazier.

"What did your brother say?" Jiang Huan asked.

Jiang Xiao Tian frowned as he looked at his father. "Elder brother agreed. I should continue with the plan."

Jiang Huan nodded. "Then, you go ahead. Prince Jing has been a thorn in the flesh for the Princess. It's time for us to help Her Highness to remove him." the Old General took a deep breath before he spoke again. "His Majesty is too softhearted. He should do something to stop Prince Jing the first time the Prince tried to harm the Princess."

"The Emperor valued his relations.h.i.+p with his younger brother, Prince Yi so much," Jiang Xiao Tian commented. His tone showed his frustration. "He loved the Princess, but he will not do anything that will upset Prince Yi."

"We can't blame His Majesty. Harming Prince Jing will only harm the Emperor's relations.h.i.+p with his brother." Jiang Huan said. "Back then, the compet.i.tion between the five princes were fierce. With Prince Yi's help, the Emperor ascended the throne."

Jiang Xiao Tian looked at his father as the old man started to reminisce his past. Back then, the Old General Jiang was among the Emperor's supporters and had fought alongside the Emperor and Prince Yi for the throne.

"His Majesty must be in a predicament as well," Jiang Huan said.

"Everything will be too late if Prince Jing's plan succeed." Jiang Xiao Tian sneered. Then, he walked out to return to his room.

Although Xiao Tian was directly under the Emperor's command, there were certain things that he did not agree with the Emperor's decision. Especially when it involved the Princess. As Princess Lingchen and Mingyue was only a year apart, Xiao Tian considered the Princess as his little sister.

When Jiang Xiao Tian entered his room, a man dressed in black appeared beside him.

The man stayed in kneeling position as he waited for Jiang Xiao Tian to speak. However, Xiao Tian only stood there while he fiddled with a rolled paper in his hand.

A few minutes and Jiang Xiao Tian turned around. He stepped closer to the man and handed over the paper in his hand. "Tonight, just do as we plan. Don't make any mistake. Destroy any evidence that could trace it back to us. If you're caught," he bit his lips. "You know what to do."

The man in black took the token and bowed, "I will not disappoint you, Master." In a flash, he disappeared.

Jiang Xiao Tian took a deep breath as he thought over his decision.

As the head of His Majesty's secret agent, Jiang Xiao Tian held a lot of valuable information which some of them were hidden even from the Emperor himself. He knew most of the ministers' secrets and wrongdoings. As long as there was a trail, Jiang Xiao Tian would definitely follow them.

However, there are a few of them who were too careful, like Prince Jing and a few high ranked ministers. With Prince Jing, no matter how long Jiang Xiao Tian had been investigating him, he could not find anything that could lead the Prince into trouble with the Emperor.

Since they could not find anything worthy to make the Emperor act against Prince Jing, then they will have to create something.

At first, Jiang Xiao Tian did not want to harm Prince Jing in this way.

However, Prince Jing gave him no other choice. The Prince has not stopped trying to hurt the Princess. This was not the first or the second time that Prince Jing had tried to harm the Princess.

His sister, Mingyue, had worked for years, trying to gather the herbs to treat the Princess. While a.s.sembling the last ingredients needed, Mingyue has disappeared. But Prince Jing's action had made Mingyue's hard work go to waste.

It was time for them to do something before the Prince pushed the Princess to her death.

Jiang Xiao Tian changed his clothes and headed out. He entered the carriage and headed towards the Imperial Guest House where Prince Lu Wei had stayed for the last couple of months. Xiao Tian has been planning to visit the Prince of Qian Rong for sometimes and only had his chance now.

Xiao Tian talked with a servant before the servant led him into a waiting hall. After a few minutes, another servant walked in with a tray of refreshment and announced that Prince Lu Wei would come in shortly.

He did not have to wait for long until Prince Lu Wei showed up.

Prince Lu Wei gave Jiang Xiao Tian a look over as he walked into the room. "Mister Jiang," his lips curved into a polite smile. "I didn't know what brings you here?"
