Once everything was ready, Mother Lin invited their guests to lunch. She tried her best to act as the best host, while her husband acted childishly by ignoring Yang Yun.

In the end, Mother Lin had no choice but to drag her husband into a quiet corner where she had to warn him to act like a grownup.

"How old are you? Why are you still acting like a kid?"

General Lin pouted after being scolded by his wife. Looking at the way her husband acted, Mother Lin felt the corner of her mouth twitched.

Mingyue heaved a sigh. "Perhaps I should drop some hints to my parents and prepare them before I said anything, first."

Mother Lin was chatting with both Lin Tian Yu and Xue Yi Ming. Once she saw Yang Yun, Mother Lin called him over and poured tea for him. Yang Yun took a small sip and praised that Mother Lin made good tea.

General Lin coughed when he sensed that his wife was looking at him. He sat down beside his wife and continued to stare at Yang Yun. "Yang Yun, since you're in a relations.h.i.+p with my daughter, I'm guessing that you know a little bit about Mingyue's background."

Yang Yun knew that General Lin was talking about Mingyue's status as an orphan and how she was adopted into the Lin's family.

"I know," Yang Yun nodded. He glanced at Mingyue and automatically, his lips curved into a soft smile.

Seeing how Yang Yun was looking at Mingyue, General Lin made a sound to clear his throat. "Since you're already dating my daughter, there isn't much for me to say. I trust Mingyue and her choice. However, if you let her down…"

"I won't let her down," Yang Yun promised. "I love Mingyue, and I will do my best to give her content and happy life."

General Lin frowned as he heard Yang Yun's words. Right now, his daughter was only dating Yang Yun. However, why do Yang Yun's words sound like he was making promises to marry his daughter?

In the end, General Lin could only pretend to ignore the others as he drank his tea.
