Qianru was not aware yet about Luna's ident.i.ty as Xiao Jun had never really talked about this, he even had not mentioned about Xiao Tianyao ever since they arrived at the Kingdom of Rockstone.

Qianru only thought that Luna has a complicated personality because she caught her lied before, pretending to be unconscious, but she would have never thought about Luna as a mind controller.

Xiao Jun looked at Qianru, deciding if he should tell her about it. "She is Modama's daughter." And he chose to tell her the truth.

Since he had decided to come clean with her, it was only right to let her knew what they would be facing in the near future.

On the other hand, Qianru knew who was Modama and about his mind- controlling ability.

Xiao Jun indeed never discussed or mentioned about this matter, but Qianru was a daughter of the higher up officer from a n.o.ble clan, it safe to say that she was familiar with the politic in Azura's Kingdom.

Once, long time ago, his father had mentioned about the involvement someone named Modama, who they a.s.sumed was the infamous mind controller, the clan that had been exterminated by the Emperor of Azura at that time, Xiao Jun's grandfather, was actually having a survivor.

"You know him?" Although he was asking, Xiao Jun could guess where she got the information about it.

"I heard my father was talking about this, years ago." Qianru admitted, just like what Xiao Jun had thought.

She must know about the mind Controller from her father.

When the late Emperor, Xiao Zong, was still alive, Qianru's father was one of the most trusted people, beside Elder Dam, among all of his officers.

That was why, during the period of changed of power where Xiao Jun and Xiao Tianyao's life were on the brink of death, it was the two elders who had helped them to go through all the a.s.sa.s.sinations attempt upon them.

Aside from Qianru's father loyalty toward his father, Xiao Jun couldn't be more grateful for having someone like that at his side and at the time needed.

"Jun, that's mean Tianyao is in danger now!" Qianru exclaimed, shock was written all over her face before it turned into fear. "How you can stay calm like this when you know Tianyao is not safe? He has his eyes on that woman, she even stays in his mansion, did he know about this?"

As the youngest member of her family, Qianru had always thought of Xiao Tianyao as her own brother, after all the three of them had grown up together.

"I am not sure if he knows about this already or not." Xiao Jun poured two cups of tea for Qianru and him. "I had warned him before we went to Rockstone Kingdom. But, apparently that woman's influence has run deep on him."

"Jun, shouldn't we do something about this?" Qianru sat anxiously, but when she took a notice about how calm Xiao Jun when he faced this situation about his brother, she was slightly confused. "Jun, don't you worry about Tianyao?"

Xiao Jun gave a cup of tea to Qianru. "There is nothing I can do about this." He chugged down his tea in one gulp.

"What do you mean with nothing you can do? Tianyao's life is in danger, if that woman is Modama's daughter, how you can let her so close to him?" Qianru held the tea cup tightly, she didn't understand why Xiao Jun acted this way.

"They will not kill him." Xiao Jun looked at the sky through the opened window while deep in thought. "Yet." He added.

"And what do you mean with 'not yet'?" Qianru s.h.i.+fted in her seat uncomfortably.

"They still need Tianyao to reach onto me. For now he is safe as long as they see there is still value to keep him alive than dead." Xiao Jun said, his expression was devoid from any emotion.

It was a lie if he said he didn't care about his younger brother, even after all he had done and how he had ruined all the plans that had made, he still worry for him.

Xiao Tianyao was under influence of Luna, so he couldn't truly blame him for what had happened. The thing that Xiao Jun didn't understand was; how Xiao Tianyao could fall easily to the enemy's hand? Into the embrace of that woman?

And the most ridiculous about all of this was; Xiao Zi and Modama were behind it!

While Xiao Jun couldn't provoke them out loud, they were playing victim by punis.h.i.+ng him and Xiao Tianyao for the schemes that they had laid out.

Their success ploy was a setback for Xiao Jun and had destroyed his plan.

He was more than incense and disappointed to say the least. Therefore, although he knew Xiao Tianyao's condition perfectly, he still blamed him for all of the trouble that he had brought upon them.

Xiao Jun needed someone to be blamed, however it didn't make him feel better, if anything he felt worse for condemned his younger brother's action when he wasn't himself at the time.

He felt pathetic for his needs to hold Xiao Tianyao liable upon all of this mess.

Suddenly, Xiao Jun felt Qianru's tiny hand touched his cheek while urging him to turn his head to look at her.

"What?" Xiao Jun asked with hoa.r.s.e voice, he felt uncomfortable under Qianru's eyes as if those eyes could penetrate his soul and turned him vulnerable.

"Tell me what is it exactly?" Qianru unruly eyes stared deeply into his. "It is not you." She shook her head. "The 'you' who I know will not talking lightly and indifferently about his brother's life."Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"Maybe you didn't know me so well." Xiao Jun averted his eyes, felt uncomfortable.

But Qianru held his face firmly with both her hands, forcing him to look at her.

"Or maybe I know you too well for saying this…" Qianru caressed his cheeks tenderly with her slender fingers, the face of the man that she loved. "…I don't quite know the part of you that playing plot and ploy with those n.o.blemen and the Emperors. But, I know exactly how you feel about Tianyao. You loved your younger brother dearly. So, what happened now?"

Qianru breeze like voice soothed Xiao Jun's ears as he rested his forehead on her shoulder.

Why it was always like this whenever he was with her? He always put his guard down and unconsciously laid his heart out for her to see, and the most surprising part was; he didn't mind for her to see him in such weak state.

In contrary, a little part of him that held his dignity chided him to stop being frail in front of her! It was so sick to see a man became so fragile in his woman presence!

But, the feeling of comfortable that Qianru offered was something that he couldn't deny. To think of it again, what state Qianru had not seen yet?

On the faithful day when the news of the death of his parents came, he hid from the world in a small rickety hut, but he let her stayed beside him, even let her witnessed how he cried his heart out.

Xiao Jun couldn't do that in front of the faction that support him since they saw him as their ruler, a leader. And he couldn't allow Xiao Tianyao to see him in that state as he was the older brother, he supposed to be there as his strongest support.

But, Qianru was different… she was an exception…

He had been avoiding her for these past two years of their marriage, partly because he didn't want to show his emotions, the situation at that time didn't allow him to show compa.s.sion and he found it hard to put his front whenever Qianru started speaking the soothing words that he wanted to hear.

Sometimes, listening to her voice was all he needed.

"Do you feel guilty for blaming him for what happened?" Qianru stroke his back.

Xiao Jun didn't say a word, he kept as quite as hibernating bear that latched on Qianru's shoulder. And she took this cue as his way to say that she was right.

"Jun, blaming Tianyao for what happened wasn't equal as you hate him." Qianru kept talking, because she knew that he was listening. "Don't be too hard on yourself… it is totally normal for you to blame him, but it doesn't mean you stop care about him."

"He is in one of family resort with that woman." Xiao Jun mumbled.

Qianru couldn't help, but smile at his words.

It took him for a while before he admitted that he indeed kept tab on Xiao Tianyao's situation, to a.s.sure that he was alive and well.

"And then…?" Qianru encouraged him to continue.

"Apparently he is looking for more information about Luna." Xiao Jun sighed deeply, it was a considerable progress on Xiao Tianyao's side.

"That's great." Qianru commented, genuinely happy to hear that. "Has he found something?"

"He found my spy and sent him back to me with a warning." Xiao Jun said agitatedly.

How his brother treated him like that after all mess that he had cost him?

"Hahaha…" Qianru laughed heartily.

"Why are you laughing?" Xiao Jun sat straight to see what so funny that make this woman laughed.

"He really p.i.s.sed you off, isn't he?" Qianru teased him gleefully.

Xiao Jun clicked his tongue annoyingly. "Stop laughing." He said sullenly.

Of course, Qianru found out this was too funny to stop.

But, it didn't matter, because once Xiao Jun caught her lips with his, it wasn't only her laugh that died out, but also her mind went blank.

He kissed her often lately.

"This better." Xiao Jun smirked triumphantly, looking at the blushes that had spread across her face.
