There was no knock or announcement when he entered the room, Yu Aotian strolled inside disregarding contemptuous look from Liu Wei and his three subordinate.

His lips was still grazed with smile, however there was something malicious in his eyes.

Qi Xunyi stepped in as well and closed the door behind him, he leaned his body against the wall right behind Yu Aotian who was facing Xiao Jun, the later was sitting on the same spot without any intention to let him sit.

"What is it?" Xiao Jun leaned his body forward as if he was surprised by Yu Aotian's presence. "I had paid you, but until now I have not heard about the news of Xiao w.a.n.g Wei's death."

Yu Aotian bemused with how cunning this Prince as he inviting himself to sit on the chair. "I did what you had told me, it was slow reaction poison right? The liquid inside of the bottle that you had given me previously?"

"He is supposed to be dead by tomorrow." Xiao Jun stated. "And no one will know, so you will save."

"I need the antidote of it." Yu Aotian blurted out.

"For?" Xiao Jun raised his eyebrows, feigning surprised even though he knew Yu Aotian would come for it.

"In a fight with Xiao w.a.n.g Wei, I accidentally cut my hand with the sword that had been smeared with that poison, so I need the antidote." Yu Aotian saw Xiao Jun his wounded right arm. "If not, I will die by tomorrow."

"I don't understand, but you didn't look you are being poisoned?" Xiao Jun knitted his eyebrows with mocking smile. "Being cut with your own sword? It sounds so lame, don't you think?"

Provoking words from Xiao Jun hadn't effect on Yu Aotian as he replied humbly. "I was being clumsy at that time, but I was lucky enough to be able to finish the mission and alive. Please give me the antidote as a token of our deal."

Xiao Jun's expression was unreadable under the light of the candles around them, Yu Aotian couldn't be possible to know what was inside his mind.

Slowly, Xiao Jun reached the drawer near him and retrieved a small porcelain bottle. "The poison that I gave to you was a thousand venom snakes." He put the bottle in the middle of the table and continued to talk. "Here is the antidote."

A thousand venom snakes was actually only a name, in actuality it composed of ten most deadly venom's snakes, the effect could be seen after three days since infected and then the victims would be having difficulty to breathing, after that the person would be having internal bleeding which would eventually lead to death.

This poison also called a silent killer. After three days no one would have known about the instigator.

Yu Aotian was looking at the small antidote bottle and grabbed it without hesitant.

"You will hear the news about Xiao w.a.n.g Wei's death by tomorrow." Yu Aotian secured the bottle iniside his pocket and bent his body deeply. "This peasant thanks Prince Xiao Jun for his generosity."

People who didn't know about his true nature would see him as a young scholar with a impeccable manner.

However, his politeness now was only a way for him to mock Xiao Jun.

How stupid this Prince to actually believe him easily? No wonder he was dethroned as a crown prince. Yu Aotian smirked inwardly.

On the side, Qi Xunyi frowned, his eyes flickered with uneasiness. What actually Xiao Jun's plan? If he really wanted to kill Xiao w.a.n.g Wei, he shouldn't give the antidote to Yu Aotian, knowing this L clan's leader was the crown prince's people.

The reason he asked for the antidote was baseless and nonsense in Qi Xunyi's ears, what kind of swordsman that carelessly stabbed himself? Most likely he would give that antidote to Xiao w.a.n.g Wei, right?

But, before Yu Aotian left the room, Xiao Jun spoke again.

"Leader Yu, do you know there is another poison that has the same symptom like a thousand venom snakes?" Xiao Jun stood up and walked to the bookshelves behind him. "This poison is called dead cherries. The symptom is exactly the same, but… there is one phase that is different, do you know what?"

Yu Aotian stood with impa.s.sive look in his eyes while Qi Xunyi's frown deepened.

"I am asking you." Xiao Jun chuckled when Yu Aotian didn't answer his question.

Realize Xiao Jun initial rhetorical question needed his answer, Yu Aotian blinked his eyes before he smiled. "I am not very familiar with poison, so I don't really know what the different." He kept his voice sounded humble.

"The different is on the third day since the first injection. For the victim of a thousand poisonous snakes that person will not show any sign, however for the victim of dead cherries, small red color blotches will appear." Xiao Jun picked up a book that he wanted to read.

"I don't quite understand why are you telling me this." Yu Aotian feigned innocent look however, he had a bad feeling about this topic.

"Can you show me your hand?" Xiao Jun asked calmly.

"Prince Xiao Jun thought I was infected with dead cherries poison?"

"I just want to be in the safe side, because if that is the case, the antidote that I gave to you will speed up the effect of the poison and you will die immediately."

"Isn't the poison that you gave to me is a thousand venom snakes?"

"Like I said, I just want to be in the safe side. Would you mind to show me your arm?" Xiao Jun asked again politely.

Yu Aotian was squinted his eyes, but he rolled his sleeves up nonetheless. Despite being a man and an a.s.sa.s.sin, Yu Aotian's skin was flawless and could be compared with those ladies in the palace.

Therefore when the soft light of the candles fell on his arms, it showed his spotless skin, without red blotches that Xiao Jun had mentioned.

Upon seeing this, he nodded in content. "Alright. I gave you the right antidote then." Xiao Jun was smiling, but his eyes convey a different meaning.

Whether Yu Aotian realize it or not, but he reciprocated his smile and rolled back his sleeves. "If there is no anything else, I will take my leave."

Then he disappeared behind closed door.

Qi Xunyi who was watching all of this unfolded before his eyes, opened his mouth to say something, but then he walked toward the door and asked Liu Wei.

"He is gone?" Qi Xunyi looked around, trying to spot Yu Aotian or his people.

"Yes, he is gone." Liu Wei, who was guarding the door, nodded.

Once he was a.s.sure no one would eavesdrop their conversation, Qi Xunyi closed the door and started to question Xiao Jun.

"What is that mean?" He sat on the chair across Xiao Jun. "You know that he was lying when he said he accidentally poisoned himself, but why did you give the antidote to him? Prince Xiao Jun please explained it because I am at lost."

"I know he was lying." Xiao Jun brewed some tea leaves in the teapot.

"I know you knew. But, why? He will use the antidote to cure Xiao w.a.n.g Wei."

"He will not."

"How you are so sure about that?"

"Because I make it that way."

Xiao Jun couldn't help but smile at Qi Xunyi, he had known him since they were in the mountain sui sword sect as an apprentice, even though it wasn't a long time, but they were in good terms.

Qi Xunyi only slightly older than Xiao Tianyao, that was why he could have an experience there before that place was destroyed.

"I don't understand what is that even mean." Qi Xunyi shrunk on his seat and looked at Xiao Jun skeptically.

"Yu Aotian is one of Xiao w.a.n.g Wei accomplices, do you think he will poison him?" Xiao Jun asked, he rested his chin on his palm.

Qi Xunyi gave some thought to Xiao Jun's question, but then realized the loopholes. "No, he will not." Yu Aotian wouldn't poison Xiao w.a.n.g Wei in the first place. It was too absurd if he did that. "But, why Yu Aotian asked for the antidote?"

Xiao Jun poured the tea into two cups. "Think." He said simply.

Qi Xunyi scrunched his nose as his brows locked together, a while latter his voice sounded hesitant. "If Yu Aotian didn't poison him, but he needs the antidote, it means Prince Xiao w.a.n.g Wei has been poisoned…" His voice trailed off.

Qi Xunyi looked at Xiao Jun while the latter was sipping his tea. "Continue."Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"…did you pay another person to poison Prince Xiao w.a.n.g Wei?" Qi Xunyi asked incredulously.

"Yes, I did."

Qi Xunyi was surprised, but then he felt there was something missing. "But, for what you hired L clan if you had hired other person? But why did you give the antidote?"

All of these questions puzzled him, because the pieces of these facts were not relevant to each other.

"I know Xiao w.a.n.g Wei, he is someone who easily satisfied, once he learned that I hired a group of a.s.sa.s.sin to kill him, he will think that was my only way to get rid of him. But, there will always be back up plan for every plot."

"L Clan is only distraction?"

"You can say like that." Xiao Jun nodded.

"How about the antidote? You just gave it away like that?"

Xiao Jun ran his fingertip on the edge of the cup, looked very relax. "It's not the right antidote for the poison that Xiao w.a.n.g Wei has suffered."

With was being said, something clicked in Qi Xunyi's mind. "You poisoned Prince Xiao w.a.n.g Wei with dead cherries, right? That's why you mentioned it before?" His voice raised a few decibels, without Qi Xunyi realized he had actually half stood up from his seat. "I don't believe it…" He murmured.

Xiao Jun just gave him a warm smile as he remained calm as ever while looking the flicker fire on the candles.

"So, why did you warn Yu Aotian about that? If you didn't, Prince Xiao w.a.n.g Wei will have died the moment he drinks the antidote."

"Because I still need him alive." Xiao Jun said with malicious intent laced in his voice.

PRANG!!!

The sound of broken gla.s.s reverberated inside a luxurious chamber followed with someone yelled savagely.

"USELESS!"

All of the guards inside and outside the room were trembling in fear upon hearing their Master roared like a ferocious beast.

PRANG!!! PRANG!!! PRANG!!!

And another and another and another gla.s.sware hit the wall!

Xiao w.a.n.g Wei once again vented out his anger, he took his sword and beheaded the nearest guard from him.

No one expected this.

Seeing blood was flooding the floor all of the guards inside the room trembling, falling on their knees with their head flat to the ground, begging for mercy.

"ALL OF YOU USELESS!" He seethed. "I have been poisoned and no one knows who did it! You are stupid dog!!!"

Fear crept inside the room as the atmosphere thickened with wrath.

Those poor guards have been sweating bucket since the moment Xiao w.a.n.g Wei received the news from Yu Aotian and now they were ghostly pale, shaking from head to toe.

"Prince Xiao w.a.n.g Wei, you need to calm down." Yu Aotian persuaded the furious crown prince, still on his knees, didn't dare to come closer in case Xiao w.a.n.g Wei would attack him. "The red blotches had just appeared, we still have time to find the antidote."

"Find the antidote!!?" Xiao w.a.n.g Wei asked incredulously, the blue veins popped on his forehead. "This is one of the rarest poison! Where can I find the antidote with the little time I have!?"

Xiao w.a.n.g Wei stabbed one of his guards again. Now the sickening smell of blood swirled in the air.
