Chapter 2: The First Life (Part I)

The cold wind moved through the night, in a city that seemed a little like a medieval London, approaching a mansion and breaking gently through a window making the light of the candles trembled for a moment before stabilizing again. The silence was suddenly broken by the cry of a newborn and within the child our dear lazy soul awake as well, confused at the noise and listening to the conversation of the people around the cradle.

First he remembered that he was send here as punishment for being lazy and besides the memories about anime and novels, and how much he liked them, he did not remember anything else. A little panic went through him as he did not know who he was, but then... he tought that it was too much trouble to think into something he has no control about. Then the thought hit him... 'It seems that I am really lazy'.

The child was no longer crying as a woman was holding him while making hush-like noises to put him to sleep. What surprised our lazy soul was that he could understand while the other people in the room were saying.

After a while, words like "pirates", "marines" "s.h.i.+ki" and "Roger" send him through a rush of excitement, apparently this was the wold of One Piece! and he would get to watch a fantastic movie!

After a few days he understood that his host, he took pleasure of thinking himself as a parasite, was born into a middle level n.o.ble family on Rommel. Gold D. Roger has not yet become the pirate king, although he was already a famous character. Our lazy soul trembled with excitement thinking of the fantastic battle scenes that he would get to witness in the future and even forgot that he was being "punished".

Over the years, the host, that carried our dear lazy soul, started to form the traits that would form his character and physique. He greatly enjoyed food and the only other thing that could distract him from it, even if it was only for a moment, were the few beautiful maids that pa.s.sed by from time to time. Even more disturbing was that he did not stopped eating to enjoy the view of the beautiful pa.s.sing maids, but to hide away as if he were afraid of them.

Our lazy soul started to feel unrest, if this continues as it is, his host would become a extremely shy fatty. It did not help that his parents would put too much attention to him as he was the third son and he would not inherit the t.i.ttle of the family. Thus, the effort of the family was focused on his two older siblings.

The years go by, and our lazy soul came to the realization that this lazy b.a.s.t.a.r.d of a host would not allow him to see anything of what he dreamed on this wonderful world. The great battles, the beautiful women that have appeared countless times in his dreams during his previous life or so he thought, he could not remember...

He was even thinking that if it was him, he would surely would have gone out of his lazy ways just to be able to enjoy the fantastic world to a minimum. That being getting himself a devil fruit to get a little of strength and a beautiful woman of the main story. Apparently his dream girl in this world was Nefertari Vivi. And he was sure that, with his knowledge of the story, it would not have been too difficult for him to get her favour while helping her in her more difficult time before the son of destiny were to make contact with her. He started to realize what his punishment was... and it was a cruel one.

What scare him even more, was that he was starting to forget the memories of the novels and animes of his past life. So for the first time he put effort on to something without someone nagging him to do it. He started to review and try to keep all these memories, after all those were his only solace in this disturbing life as parasite.

He remembered that, in his previous life, there was a technique that allowed one to keep memories safe and organized... the memory palace. He never really studied this technique but he knew the general basics of it. Visualizing a room or palace in his mind and storing in there the precious memories to be reviewed at will. It took him 5 years of constant effort to make a small cinema/library that store all his treasured past life memories. He was quite prideful of this achievement as it was the first time that he took the initiative to do something with his time and it helped to relieve the distress he felt while having to observe his shy fatty host, who currently was 15 years old, hiding from any woman who could come his way and happily eating like a pig.

It should be mentioned that, as this was a punishment, he was forced to watch everything his shy fatty host would do and the only time he had to work on his memory palace was when shy fatty host was sleeping. And yes, it took 10 years for our beloved lazy soul to start doing something other than sigh for how unfair this punishment was.
