Naveen was startled when he heard what Abhi asked and explained in a hurry "No, no boss. It's not like that."

Abhi gave a look and Naveen explained "When I learned that Shriya and Preeti are alive and are staying with their uncle, I was happy".

"When you asked me to collect information about her, I wondered what she has got to do with you and didn't undestand why you are searching for her ?"

"But it was only after a little while that I found you like her and has been searching her for a while".

"I thought you will be happy when I tell you her information. But I just wanted to make sure for once if the information was right or else I will have face to face serious consequences."

"Just as expected I came to know that she wasn't staying at her aunt's and moved out from there".

Then he looked at Abhi with a guilty face "I thought you had some ill intentions against her and was worried about her safety and wanted to keep the information away from you when I first found her".

"But the way she was living and her surroundings, her conditions, I couldn't see her like that anymore and told you everything".

He looked at Abhi and said while bowing his head "I am so so sorry. But I don't regret what I did and even if I was given another chance I would have done the same. Because I feel sorry for her and I regret not giving much attention to them, if I did listen to them and protected them maybe they wouldn't have ended up like that". He sounded determined and also guilty.

Abhi nodded and said "Good, as long as you treat her as your sister, I am fine and I can be at ease when she is with you".

Naveen sighed in relief when Abhi didn't say much and he didn't even ask many questions.

Abhi changed the topic "Well, From next week I will be shooting in the University as everything is ready now and I need you to pay more attention so that there won't be any gossip."

Naveen nodded his head and Abhi continued "If what you said is true then we will have to be careful around Preeti too".

Naveen shook his head "I don't think it is necessary. She was only five back then and others aren't much aware of her existence. But we might have to think of Sony".

Abhi nodded and ordered Naveen "Go to Barun's office and ask him to send four fully trained bodyguards for Yash. Tell him I don't want any lapses in his security".

Naveen nodded and Abhi continued "Tell him the same story and may he we will find something about the incident".

Naveen hesitated for a moment and muttered "I think if we leave it as is. What if we are doing something unnecessary that will cause trouble for those kids".

Abhi a.s.sured "Barun don't do anything stupid just out of emotions. Believe him and I promise we won't do anything unnecsssay, I just want to know whether they are in danger or not and if they are we have to know to what extent and from whom".

Naveen nodded but it seemed like he is not in agreement with that. But he had no option than to follow his boss's orders afterall he is just a mere employee who has to follow the boss's orders.

In the evening around 6 pm three cars stopped infront of the Mansion and all three handsome men of Malhotra family walked inside gracefully.

Shriya and Gouthami were sitting in the living room sofa with Preeti sitting on the floor with a few sketch pens and papers around her. They were listening to what Preeti was saying while she was drawing something. She was blabbering about the joke which happened in the cla.s.sroom that day.

They walked inside and saw these women enjoying the little girl's funny talks. When Preeti saw them she ran towards them and jumped into Yash's arms who took her readily into a hug with a bright smile.

He gave her a packet in his hands and said "H...ere for you, chocolate cake".

Preeti smiled and kissed his cheek saying "You are the best Yash. I love you".

Abhi and Rahul who were standing behind made poker faces and Abhi didn't hold back and said with a pout "You little liar, how can you say that?" and Rahul said "Did she just abandon me ? I raised an unfaithful kid all these days with so much love. I feel deceived".
