My Bothersome Life 54 Returning Back To Reality

I woke up to find myself still inside the forest. I knew I fainted from exhaustion and the intense events kept my heart pounding rapidly from the aftereffects.

I wondered why n.o.body was bothered to search for me as the suns.h.i.+ne greeted me as it was telling me it was morning now. When I walked to near the entrance of the forest to go back to the hotel, I saw a thin layer of mana surrounding the the area that I was inside.

A dimensional s.h.i.+eld. No wonder no one knew! This s.h.i.+eld was so well made that it was highly likely that even Luke wouldn't be aware of its existence.

Luckly, once you notice the s.h.i.+eld, it's easy to break from the inside with just a sharp object. Maybe it was just a fluke that I grabbed a dagger with me from the church when I was running away.

I grabbed the dagger from the ground and stabbed the s.h.i.+eld to find it breaking like gla.s.s to soon vanish into the thin air afterwards.

The dimensional s.h.i.+eld was made to hide mana from the other districts. Anything that occurred inside the s.h.i.+eld would remain inside the s.h.i.+eld. Once the s.h.i.+eld was broken, everything would go back to normal and n.o.body would see anything that had happened within the barrier.

When I broke the s.h.i.+eld, I saw several people searching for a girl with wavy red hair and bright jeweled orange eyes wearing a fancy school uniform. The police was also scattered around the area with the teachers from school helping with the search.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I saw Luke notice me first with a surprised and worried face that screamed, "Rika! We found her! She's right over here!"

Many people had relief wash over their faces, but was soon replaced with pity and sorrow.

Ahh. It was probably because of my tattered clothes that revealed my shoulders and waist with scars and scratches places all over my body. There was still blood spilling from my forehead and I was holding a dagger that was painted with recently dried blood. My neck was full with scars from the scythe and maybe my eyes looked dead as I just noticed my head didn't stop bleeding from who knows where it came from.

"I'm ok," I said while smiling to try to lighten the mood.

I quickly put the dagger behind my back to hide it from the people who haven't seen it yet. Although it seemed that Luke noticed it with his eyes narrowing from the sight of the dagger when he first saw me.

However, he just covered me up with a blanket as he escorted me into the car while thanking everyone with the search.

On our way to the hotel, we didn't speak a single word to one another. I guess the lecture was going to start once we entered the hotel room.

Once we entered our rooms, before Luke could say anything, I calmly said, "Let me shower and change and then we can talk."

Before he could respond, I went to my room to put my clothes off. My clothes that once dazzled in its silky material was dirty with blood and was ripped apart very badly. There was no display of its former splendor as it crumbled apart after I put all of it off.

Once the water reached my wounds, I cried from the pain until I made sure each one was disinfected.

In my closet, there were clothes that I brought from the first district all neatly organized. I was glad I brought them, thinking I could wear them while sightseeing in the third district.

I put on some underwear and a long dress with long sleeves that would help cover my wounds.

Now it was time to face Luke.
