"No, I can't ask them. They don't even know that I am here. However, I need to really know the dealings of this. Although it was not a relevant thing for me, but I needed to know," I said to her.

Mrs. Kas.h.i.+wagi was silent and she stares into my face for a bit before she sighed.

"Yeah, looks like your mother and father are still a secretive bunch. They did not even tell you the reason why they quit their work. In actuality, they did not quit but were fired instead," she said calmly.

"Fired?" I was surprised. All my life I know that they quit their jobs but I just know today that they are not the one who voluntarily quit but the company itself fired them.

"Yes, they are fired. Your mother and father are both righteous people and can stand to do evil deeds. The company that we are working on had a shady dealings and one time, the two of them were the one a.s.signed to the project. This project was connected to a shady dealings and if successful, the company can take all of the dealings and earn money illegally. I don't know what business it was but since its an illegal dealing, they didn't take part and instead declined it.

"However, due to the nature that your parents didn't like to deal with shady dealings like that things that the company has done, they didn't agree, causing the disappointment of the boss. Since they know the plan of the shady dealings, they know they had to stop it so they decided to do a risky move and that is to disrupt the plan," Mrs. Kas.h.i.+wagi said to me.

"How come you know all of this?" I asked her.

"Of course I know since your mother told me everything. She told me to quit the job and look for another if I don't want to be troubled in the future. Indeed, I quit and I have no more idea what happened to the company but I am grateful. However, may I ask something," why did ask all of this?"

I sighed and decided to tell her the truth. Everything that Kazuki told me earlier is revealed to her. When she heard Kazuki's name, she frowned.

"Kazuki Sakatsus.h.i.+? This name sounds really familiar but I can't remember it too much. Must be due to my old age."

I was surprised since I only mentioned her the name but she looks like she was indeed able to know who he was.
